Let us say things as it is. Why appoint a political assistant when there are career civil servants in the agencies and ministries that can do the job. We just waste money, highly paid political appointees are being used to do administrative jobs while the career civil servants have nothing to do, they just sit there at work and sell ankara handbag and co.......we waste money for political rubbish.

Ben Bruce made good strides with NTA, Nuhu Ribadu`s EFCC, Magnus Kpakol, even the then useful Elrufai that is now a monster, Ernest Ndukwe of NCC did big things with GSM, NASRDA under Borrofice launched satellite under OBJ and giant strides were made in space research, Chukwuemeka Chikelu and Frank Nweke Jr were sound and intelligent Minister of Information, even Femi Fani Kayode was a sane human being under Obasanjo, these guys were in their 40s and 50s when they ran govt, I know he has his flaws(he is human afterall) but we do not rate Obasanjo enough in this country, we dont give him 10% of the credit he deserves. The Yoruba Ministers in his govt like SM Afolabi of interior(his friend) chop jail because he stole money. The performing ministers flourished irrespective of tribe.
Our bragging right within the International Community soared. World leaders waited patiently anywhere OBJ was for the No.1 man on the continent that will take over the future to speak. Other African leaders including South Africa(who were economically better than us) dey look OBJ and Nigeria and Nigerians like Oga boss.
