Inflation in Kenya rarely goes above 7% unless there is a serious drought or a locust invasion. The central bank has always maintained a target of 7.1% since time immemorial. If it goes beyond that it raises alarm. Ruto has not worked any miracles, we just havent had droughts, rains have been massive, and the locusts havent returned. If any of those things were to happen you wouldn't believe the inflation rate because it would hit new highs. The lowest inflation rate we had was 1.85 % in 2007. The difference is the push factors because under Kibaki the inflation was low on account of good micro and macro economic management but under Ruto the lack of money in people's pockets is the main cause. If things continue as they are we might have deflation for the first time. I kid you not! People have no money doctors, businessmen, lecturers, etc. The police Ruto sent to Haiti havent been paid for months to the point that they are tendering their resignations enmasse. Kasongo as usual is threatening them with dismissal and court martial for desertion as if they are supposed to eat Haitian soapstones. This is despite him lying to us, AS USUAL, that he spent 2B for their salaries. That is money stolen, outright. These young guys dont forgive man. They cant wait to bury him politically and jail him. His final goose will be cooked in February when Raila the opposition leader turned conman loses his AU bid. Ruto is praying every day that he succeeds because he knows how quickly he will be thrown under the bus if he loses.

And this brings me back to your point about inflation, what are the odds that nearly all Kenyans are cantankerous fools who see no good even when it stares them in the face but one corrupt man with a superhuman capacity for lying is good? He has nothing else to offer in terms of leadership except looted money. Go through those documents again in 1993. I do not see where the man was convicted of drug dealing. He was accused yes, because his account received money from two brothers of his Nigerian friend. That particular account was blocked in 1992 for which he presented himself to find out why. In the end, he forfeited what the court believed was the particular proceeds of drug and the rest of the money in the account (a family account by the way) was returned to him and his family. Remember he was in Nigeria working in Mobil as an accountant as at the time this account was flagged and he had a Nigerian business with that his friend who was based in the U.S.

The American court simply traced all accounts the money from the brothers of his friend got to. Even that friend himself who sent Tinubu the cash was not charged or accused. Tinubu only got into the picture because it was believed that part of the money sent to him by his friend (whose brothers were convicted) were also proceeds of drug crimes by those two convicted brothers.

What we cannot prove is if he was part of the drug ring himself because it doesn’t seem the convicted guys mentioned his name.

I have read almost every account I can find on this case and in summary we can say we don’t know if Tinubu was part of the drug ring or not but the guys who were part of it were already convicted and sentenced at the time.

Remember even Mobil did not sack him or suspend him because of this case. He was their treasurer in Nigeria at the time.

For just a system,,, and the system failed, we are now using manual systems that were last used in the Moi era. I keep telling these fools not even the best systems at Nasa or SpaceX can cost even a quarter of that. That money is going straight to Ruto's and the Indian's pockets. This in a country they say (or said) is bankrupt everyday. If the country was really bankrupt they would have used the 104 B to pay debts instead of using it to create more pain. That tells you there is ZERO money problems. Its just how it is spent. I highly suspect this is the case in Nigeria and many African countries. The DP just before he was impeached said that they found 3.2 Trillion Kshs at the treasury, despite earlier lying that they found nothing. The drama going on is very nice because Ruto is now being exposed by his inner circle. I've come to realize very few Africans actually care about how much looting takes place in their country. Back in the 90s a very infamous Indian thief calling himself a business man came to the limelight in cahoots with Moi's irredeemably corrupt government. He alone looted 10 % of Kenya's GDP then. They looted so much the economy was on its knees. This was a time when every crime could fly. Moi was so evil he would literally jail you if you said the government was corrupt.

Eventually when we kicked Moi out of power, Kamlesh Pattni and all his associate politician thiefs and government officials found themselves in the ropes in court answering to their misdeeds. With no one to protect him, they were faced with the ominous reality of losing every stolen penny and spending his life in prison. Pattni, the flamboyant Indian businessman began to feign all manner of illnesses and beg for mercy. But Kenyans were having none of his shenanigans. Eventually, he lost, leading to the government recovering a multibillion hotel from him, the Grand Regency Hotel, which he had built using the stolen money. But he never paid everything. Later he converted to Christianity and became a pastor to try and soften Kenyans' harsh stance against his shameless theft. I hear now he has emerged somewhere in Zimbabwe where the laws are unimaginably weak and he faces no prospect of justice so he continues with his looting there.
