The once mighty shilling continues to tank, thanks to clueless leadership. Just this alone has raised previous foreign debt obligations by almost 30 %. Thats without even accounting for new debt. Just old debt becoming 30 % more expensive because local currency is tanking.

I did my bit when it mattered. Now all I do is share the sheeples' lamentations. I warned of exactly this 1.5 years ago!

ProblemChild1:Hahaha. Africans and their love for crooks. Its the EXACT same case here. Life is so hard every Kenyan you meet now is trying to run away from the country. Kalenjins are the worst hit. You heard RIP say no one is stealing maize yet three days ago 5 Kalenjins were murdered in cold blood stealing maize from a KDF base. You can imagine Kenyans are now invading Army farms to steal food. Many Kalenjins were promised NONEXISTENT Finnish scholarships by Rutos men, some sold their land/ cattle took loans and everything they possessed only to realize it was an elaborate long con from the chief conman himself. Now they are surviving on blood pressure pills daily. Some even committed suicide. There is literally nothing the thief has done except make life miserable. And he's no fool. He is intentionally impoverishing Kenyans so that they become easy to manipulate in elections. Atleast for you Thiefnooboo is senile. We are staring at another 20 or so years wasted if these two crooks remain in power. All they do is steal day and night while lying to Kenyans there is no money. Ruto cannot get enough of taxes every day he introduces new taxes. Now he wants to sell parastatals so that he and his men can buy them USING the billions they have stolen the past 12 months. They take so much advantage of the gullible masses. Since the man took over power over 12 months ago the Shilling has NEVER gained against the dollar. Every day you wake up it has shed some more. By mid next year it will be 200 to the dollar something no Kenyans has ever even imagined. I dont need to mention fuel prices even RIP can tell you how bad it is. Our neigbors's (UG, TZ, Rwanda) are all dropping their oil prices while here it is going up every month. Never mind that all our neighbours buy their fuel from/through Kenya. Global oil prices are going down but here its going up. At first they lied to the gullible masses that oil is high because of Uhuru, once they took power they said its because of the war in Ukraine, the other day they lied to them its because of the War in Gaza. You just have to pity the gullible masses. Its so bad our neighbours have unanimously agreed not to import oil and other commodities from/through Kenya because the corruption in government is even threatening their own economies. Ruto just cant get enough. The man's belly is full but he still wants to grab more. |
Just40:You're right. Ruto had zero plans of selling state corporations. After borrowing 4 Trillion in one year he ran to the IMF like Moi did in the 90s because he realized he lacks the brain power and resourcefulness to create revenue to repay the huge debt he has gobbled up. The black fool has borrowed 4 trillion Kshs in one year and still wants to convince us he needs IMF. What for? For comparison Uhuru borrowed 6 Trillion in 10 years!!.

The greatest two tragedies in Kenya since independence are the Kikuyu entitlement and Kalenjin incompetence. Combined, they were bound to bring down the country. They might in fact have done so earlier if Uhuru Kenyatta hadn't discovered this in 2018 and nipped it in the bud. Do not be afraid of accusing the Kikuyu community of entrenching an oath-fuelled tribal hatred that thrives on bestowing onto the nation the worst kleptocratic megalomaniacs, even when there was an excellent choice on the ballot, because the latter came from a tribe unacceptable to them. Neither should you be afraid of pointing out that the Kalenjin community has perfected the art of making incompetence in public service a way of life, where corruption is locust-level (eat the leaves, the stem and the branches, to the ground). But in our current crisis, the Kalenjin at least voted for their son, however incompetent (where would they have found a competent one anyway?). Today, every Kenyan crying about living conditions points to another one and says "si ni nyinyi mlipigia hii serikali kura?" The ones who did are too ashamed to carry their skunk. Luos, Luhyas, Kisiis, Kambas and Giriamas at least don't need to explain themselves because their colours were and remain clear. August 2022 was the Al Nakba, brought on us by Kikuyu entitlement and Kalenjin incompetence. The bigger tragedy is that one of the two will act victim in 2027, look for Luo, Kamba and Luhya numbers, create a winning alliance and perpetuate this fraud! |
The Kenyans on this thread, led by the RIP of a guy disappeared after Ruto has fcked them up properly economically for a whole year now. What I predicted came to pass within a very short period. You will never hear from them again.

vankelvin:What's so special about Niger? Everyone in West Africa seems to be having a coup. |
Obaaderemi2:The novice is now eating his own words. Kenya: Ruto’s credibility questioned after reinstating fuel subsidy https://www.theafricareport.com/319175/kenya-rutos-credibility-questioned-after-reinstating-fuel-subsidy/ “Ruto wants to gain lost trust from angry Kenyans over the high cost of living,” he says, warning that life would be unbearable for the majority of citizens should the government increase fuel prices and taxes simultaneously. |
Kazikazi:No need for talks. The cartoon in power already caved in. He reintroduced fuel subsidies and called Baba to the table. Thats the power of a strong opposition. The govt has to do what the people want not what it wants. |
Mkenya2019:What a BIG lie! Ruto was NOT a key architect of the new constitution! Do you think everyone is a Kipmeno? He opposed the constitution and lost miserably. 70 % of Kenyans said yes with the fossil Ruto claiming the rest. You cannot rewrite history. He was sacked twice in a span of two years, first as minister for agriculture for mega corruption scandals involving grains and sugar, then as Higher Education minister for more graft. Remember the maize scandal of 2008? At a time Kenyans were going hungry the agriculture ministry was riddled with corruption led by Ruto. That was when he went to cry in parliament to save his thiefing behind. In March 2009, CID were probing more corruption in the tea sector and over payments at KTDA. Kibaki moved him to the Education ministry where again he was fired due to a land scandal. This was actually the period he enriched himself with scandal after scandal. Ruto was actually the first public official fired under the new constitution due to corruption. https://www.voanews.com/a/kenyan-president-suspends-minister-facing-major-corruption-charges--105337848/128428.html https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2010-04-21/kenya-s-president-replaces-agriculture-minister-ruto-in-cabinet-reshuffle |
Kazikazi:Those are mostly young Kenyans who dont know where we've come from as a country. Kenyans are being picked up from the streets by plain clothes secret police simply for saying they hate the regime and charged with all manner of trumped up charges. Right where Moi left in 2003. But Kenyans on every front are VICIOUSLY fighting back. The other day The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) warned their members working in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (govt prosecution office) that from now henceforth, should they make decisions that betray public trust, undermine the rule of law and bring disrepute to the legal profession, the LSK shall have no other option but to issue them with Certificates of Dishonour, and immediately commence proceedings to remove them from the roll of advocates. That means they cannot operate legally and cannot prosecute court cases against any Kenyan. That was after Ruto's rogue regime started charging average Kenyans protesting his autocracy on flimsy charges. The lawyers are telling the guy if you want to misuse the criminal justice system DO NOT do it here. Find another country. In one case a mere blogger was charged with narcotics that were planted on her after arrest. The judge simply looked at the case and told the prosecutor and govt to F themselves. She was released ASAP without bail, bond or any other conditions. The egg on Jambazi Ruto's face!

Kazikazi:I dont blame you my friend. You dont know much about Kenya and Ruto specifically. Ruto has achieved NOTHING in governance to warrant anyone expecting him to achieve anything now. During the drafting of the 2010 constitution he was in the NO camp that lost. He was in favor of the colonial constitution left by the British that had no bill of rights. The man loathes anything that doesnt glorify murder and trumping of the common man. Even today the new dispensation pains him. During the repressive KANU era he was firmly Moi's right hand man heading YK92 (Youth for KANU 1992 that was based on Hitler Youth of the Nazis) where he was responsible for brutalizing, maiming, and murdering political opponents. That is his only KNOWN achievement. The guy has no friends regionally. Suluhu hates his black @ss like a plague, Sudan are daring him to a duel, he tried opening the Somali border but the Soms are not interested, in Ethiopia Abiy is Uhuru's bossom buddy, cant even talk to Ruto, IMF is on his neck, they are telling him to stick to the high taxes, US have told him unless he recognizes LGBT he's getting no more money, locally he is repressing the common man and giving tax breaks to the rich, he withdrew all corruption cases by brute force, the church is now nearly unanimously against him. Somebody said the presidency doesn't change who you are, it reveals who you are. What you are seeing now is the real Ruto. The Ruto you heard during the campaigns was tailored to woo votes from the uninformed masses. |
I predicted this even before the election. Who gets the crown for most corrupt? The only person who will rescue Kenya from this incompetence is Raila and the opposition. This man is lost and cannot be allowed to run the country aground. By all means. The idiot unanimously withdrew ALL corruption cases filed under the previous regime. Is this not madness?
|
Dictator Kip Jong Un has finally smelled the coffee and decided to meet Raila for a tête-à-tête. My 2 shillings on this matter, Ruto must 1. Repeal all new taxes 2. Go back to the drawing board on the finance bill 3. Lower the cost of fuel, electricity 4. Run the government like someone who actually went to school. 5. No handshake 6. Stop pardoning jailed corrupt tribemates, let them rot in jail 7. Raila to remain in stiff opposition to keep this mega thief in check 8. Failure to which a revolution will sweep the thief out of power by next year FYI, this explains why Raila called off the demos. The shameless tax collector was talking to him via back channels to avert a catastrophe.

Saddamochieng00:Why do you always sound like a robot? You supposed to articulate your viewpoint not drop lame two liners like Roast Him Jim. Unfortunately idiots like you are the ones calling the shots these days.
|
Shma2023:How did I massage Nigerians behinds or mud slang Kenya? Petrol is 1068 Naira (195 Kshs) which is a statement of fact. Have you bought fuel lately? the economy is a mess. Thats another statement of fact. If you have a problem with me attacking Ruto its probably because you're naturally mediocre. Every Kenyan agrees the man is not fit for the job. He is worse than Uhuru even. Have you checked the Kenya shilling against the dollar? As soon as the idiot was sworn in it tanked. By the end of the year it will be 200 to the dollar, something no Kenyan would ever have dreamed even on the worst night. Young Kenyans like you are struggling to import cars. A weak currency would ideally stimulate exports but even thats not possible because investors cant cope with the prices of electricity and obscene taxes. The CS for trade is an immature drunkard. Nearly every CS is incompetent. Ruto even went ahead and created unconstitutional positions to reward his cronies. Thank God the judiciary is hearing none of his BS. This is the same idiot who campaigned to his goats on a platform of reduced spending creating 50 senior govt positions that dont exist. Even if Uhuru drunk for 9 months straight this would never have happened. Chart below is from Sep 2022 when Lootall was sworn in. You can see the stratospheric trajectory.
|
Shma2023:I shudder at your audacity. A female college student shot on her back as she entered the school gate after lunch, a young man shot on the head while walking home, primary school children teargassed in their classroom, etc. You call these thieves? Piece of advise, young man, morality is the attitude we develop towards people we dislike. |
Saddamochieng00:Your ilk live in fantastic denial. Why would I have been arguing with you last year before and during the election? When facts stare you in the face you bury your heads in the sands like the proverbial ostrich. I warned you that Ruto was going to be an epic failure last year and y'all ganged up like zealots. The past couple months I was just in the shadows waiting for the inevitable. The egg head you elected is predictably far outdoing Moi and himself. We will soon be the laughing stock of the region. |
Saddamochieng00:You're obviously a toddler. |
Obaaderemi2:People are barely hanging on. Businesses are collapsing left right and centre. Investors are leaving in droves to Tz and other destinations where taxes are not punitive. No one wants to stick around in a country where nearly half their profits go to govt. https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/business/suluhu-neighbouring-country-losing-investors-tanzania-4309634 (Between May and June, we received many investors like never before. As you can see, the reason is that the neighbour’s home is on fire)," said President Suluhu. |
GeneralDae:He wants to squeeze an extra 200B from Kenyans by force. The people, the clergy, and the courts are telling him HELL NO! You can go to the moon and back but you aint getting an extra dime. Even if you dress like a communist dictator. |
gallivant:How about first trying NOT to shoot protestors just because they're poor? |
Pkid1:700 is a bargain man. In Kenya petrol is 1068 Naira after Ruto ILLEGALLY doubled the tax on fuel. |
Saddamochieng00:Good to hear, Ostrich. |
Kazikazi:Tomorrow the demos will be of epic proportions. Police are already complaining of fatigue and Kenyans have barely started. It almost sounds as if they want to join Kenyans in demonstrating against this rogue government. The blunders Lootall has done in just a few months dwarf anything any president has done in Kenya. He's literally a school boy. In one year he has borrowed more than double what Uhuru borrowed in his first year. Out of the borrowed money less than half is going to debt repayment. The rest no one knows where it's going. The new Mobutu is looting the country dry. He canceled all development projects but still wants to raise taxes. For what? When he cheated himself into power the first order of business was to cancel fuel subsidies. Immediately the cost of living went through the roof. As if that was not enough, he added 8% tax on fuel, for good measure. The cost of fuel and living went insanely higher. Electricity is unaffordable. The average Kenyan has lost hope of ever making ends meet. He has gobbled up 1.2 trillion Kenya shillings in loans in nine months but no single project is happening. Does he think we are his lap dogs? When Kenyans raise all these issues among inumerable others he responds by banning all demos against his self serving govt. Alright! His thick skin will bring him down big time. The hustlers he fooled into electing him will be the ones who send him home before his term expires. He thought he had years of lying to the hustlers that they inherited a mess but alas, no one has time for excuses and stories now. It's one year now idiot, do your job!!! Raila on his own cannot remove him. It's the very people who voted for him that will, because their frustrations resonate with Raila's supporters, making for one formidable movement. In physics, resonance can bring the Golden Gate bridge in SF down. Wait and see how police will be whipped tomorrow in the streets by angry Kenyans. These protests will grow into something the govt won't be able to control. Even worse for the slowpoke the courts have ruled that his taxes are illegal, the protests are legal and cannot be banned by anyone, and his first budget is illegal too!! You can't make this stuff up! Unfortunately for the egg head he picked a running mate who armtwisted him and now he is afraid of making peace with Raila because the deputy will desert him and form an unasailable opposition. He went to bed with monster that will swallow him whole. All this to say that leadership formed on quicksand will self destruct, soon enough. Depending on how Lootall plays this, he will either be a one time president, the first ever, or become the first leader in east, central, and Southern Africa to be ejected from power by popular uprising. Personally I'm all for the latter so that we can elect a proper leadership as soon as possible. This was never gonna work anyway. It was a coalition of crooks. |
gallivant:You don't. All you need to do is notify. Which constitution do you read? |
gallivant:Who gave Ruto powers to ban protests? You dont need anyone's permission to picket. |
gallivant:There's a difference between malalamiko/malalamishi and maandamano/protest. Don't equate what's going on with gender marches |
Obaaderemi2:Those taxes are illegal they were overturned by the courts so Mr Lootall the egg head has nothing to do. The protests are just a way to bring him back to his senses because he has refused to obey court orders. He has no way. I repeat he has no way!!! Unless he wants to be sent home by Kenyans. His current approval rating is probably 20% or less. Nobody likes the idiot. Even the hustlers who voted him enmasse, including his own tribesmen can't hear word now. His maiden budget is down the toilet. Govt shutdown looming unless he somehow tucks his teeth in and surrenders to the will of the people and the courts... Next sports day is Wednesday, the lame duck has promised to unleash the full force of police brutality on citizens protesting his illegal overtures. Let's see if he has balls. |
Kazikazi:Unfortunàtely your confused leaders have chosen to raise spending and debt uptake. Tz has raised its budget by a whopping 7% and Uganda by an even bigger 9.6%. The downside is you lack the revenues to justify such. Tz is only managing to finance 70% of its budget, UG will only manage 68%, Rwanda 63% compared to Kenya 80%. Tz will make do with a whopping 17% foreign aid compared to Kenya's 4.7% of which 1% is grants. Numbers don't lie. Do u know, even us in TZ we can simply rebase and rebase and artificially overvaluing our currency even by more than 200% so our GDP figures could be very big. But at the end of a day how will that benefit us the citizen except getting a stupid pride? The UN statistical office recommends a country to rebase it's economy every five or so years. This is not done to boost egos but to better capture economic activity. That's why Tz rebased in 2014 and did so exactly five years later in 2019. Kenya has traditionally rebased after every ten years... 1967, 1976, 1985, 2005, 2014, 2021. Between 1985 and 2005 we did not rebase because we had an incompetent and intellectually challenged moro.n in power and virtually no change in economic activity took place. |
Stoplying:We can't wait!! |
Stoplying:Dude I wont help you revise for your next cat. Just a piece of advise, you'll fail massively if you continue wasting your time here with grownups. |
