CelebritiesThe Next Big Thing In Nigerian Music- Dunnie by Objonnas(op): 1:03pm On May 21, 2016
One musician I would always adore is Onyeka Owenu, her beauty was not just outward but inward and lots of this beauty dwell in her amazing voice. When Onyeka sings, she sends the right message to the society, with the right melody and voice.

I have admired a lot of female art since Onyeka, they likes of Omawunmi who is simply a musical goddess, Tiwa savage the musical diva, Yemi Alade whose creativity and swag is second to none in Africa, in recent times and the amazing Seyi Shay who has got me thinking of how close female artistry in Nigeria is to the Grammys; recently I heard 'Bamidele' and 'My tomorrow' by Dunnie, at first I thought to myself had Onyeka released a new song that I didn't know about? Then I realised it wasn't Onyeka Owenu, but the next Onyeka, the next big thing to happen to musical creativity and art in Nigeria since Omawunmi, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and Seyi Shay.

Dunnie as she is known by her fans, is an Afro fusion singer who possesses a strong vocal dexterity, great stage craft and great talent in playing some of the musical instruments such as the guitar, piano and drums. She has been on musical TV game shows such as 'Nigeria's got talent', 'X factor' and more recently 'Star the Winner is', which took place in South Africa in 2014.

Dunnie has also granted interviews to tv stations and some of the national newspapers, and when it comes to her musical works, she has so far released two official singles (My tomorrow & Bamidele) and 3 musical covers (JaiyeJaiye,Surulere and YBNL Mash Up).

Today as Dunnie celebrates her birthday, Soulclaire, her manager Mr. Chika Olelewe and her entire fans from Nigeria and around the world celebrate with her and wish her good luck in her quest to take Nigerian music to the zenith, just like the likes of Onyeka, Omawunmi, Tiwa, Yemi and Seyi have done. Happy birthday Dunnie we love you! - for more articles visit www.soulclaire.com

RomanceShould Weddings Cost A Fortune? by Objonnas(op): 12:42pm On May 19, 2016
During my time as a staff of Simple Loan company in Lagos, I had lots of clients who needed loans for different stuffs that they considered very important to them, it didn't matter what they needed money for as long as they were credit worthy and could afford the interest rates, we were happy to help.
But one incident got me marveled, I had just resumed work after a week-long leave from work and a lady walks into my office and asked if we gave loans to workers and I said with a warm smile "yes ma, we do and in less than 36 hours!" I offered her a seat, and started telling her of our products, during the KYC check with her, she opened up to me that she needed the money which about a million Naira for her wedding. Although I was happy to give her the loan since my check on her financial made her qualified for the loan, I was almost tempted to ask her why on earth anyone should take borrow to celebrate love.
In another instance, I was in a BRT bus; there were two guys in a seat in front of me, they were having a conversation from their loud tone, it was easy to catch their conversations, one of them was about to get married and ironically the other was consoling him as if he was going in for a kidney operation. Their emphasis was on the cost of the hall which had to be on the Island of Lagos because his (the guy getting married) fiancé’s family lived on the Island and he needed to get a grand hall to prove to the lady's family the he was capable of organising a grand wedding.
I understand that a wedding is supposed to be a once in a life time experience and that it needs to be memorable, but if the organisation of that wedding means so much pressure on two love birds then, it’s no longer a wedding as it becomes a campaign or a fund raising event. When couple's put more than they can afford to organising a wedding, rather than focus on being happy on their wedding day, they would be focused on the class of people that attended, how these would spray them, who was picking the money and how much they would realise from the wedding; creating so much tension and little space for happiness.
A survey showed that marriages built around big budget have been more difficult to sustain as the wrong moral message is sent to either partners or it is difficult to manage during financial downtimes; while marriages built around low budgets have been although less entertaining but has produced marriages that lasted over 25 years. One reason for this, is the kind of life style shown during a wedding event determines how the public see your marriage. If you use a hummer SUV during your wedding it would difficult to drive your golf car often in the public.
Let's be honest, one reason why the Government make policies they are unfair to the middle-class is because the Government thinks the middle class are wealthy, when we invite Government officials to weddings of our children the wedding doesn't reflect the realities of the economy, rather it sends a message of lavish life styles from the masses; so this masses wouldn't mind an increment in PMS, they won't mind if their Land-lords increased their rents, a high cost of housing won't affect them and they won't mind if we increased the tariff of electricity.
I am not against a high budget wedding if you can afford it without borrowing or breaking the bank to organise it, but weddings should be about two love birds becoming one and not about how big the event was. If your spouse prefers you take a loan to make him or her happy, then may want to reconsider who you spending the rest of your life with. Any man or woman who loves you would not want you to be in debt just to please them. A wedding should be as simple as taking you taking your spouse after courting, for blessings in your church or mosque and them coming back to celebrate with loved ones, your dont have to feed a thousand guest if all you can afford is just twenty guest. It's wedding day and your happiness should be all that matters at the end of the day and ten years later you can lavish the money in celebration of you wedding anniversary. - www.soulclaire.com
RomanceRe: See What Distance Relationship Has Caused Me! by Objonnas: 3:03pm On Aug 25, 2015
This is pretty touching but distance should never be blamed for the cracks in this relationship besides, Lagos and Ibadan is not much of a distance. I had a distance relationship for over 5 years and now i am married to the woman i love somuch. She works with UNN in Enugu and i work with an Ad agency in Lagos, yet we keep communication as a priority and always made sure we managed our issues maturedly. We just got married this year and we are expecting our first baby in a months time. The honest truth is that even if you were close to the lady (in Ibadan) she still would have cheated on you because what you had was not real. Distance is a true test to true love and ones you can manage it you can manage any issue in a relationship, distance is not an excuse to cheat. Whenever i feel like being close to my girl i would take a flight to Enugu that weekend and if i could not afford a flight, i would enter a night bus, my girl saw these sacrifices and willingly gave me her virginity. My advice to you is simple dont breakup with her becasue she cheated on you, if you still love her give her another chance. Build on your mistakes to create a great relationship, yes there would be issues of trust now, but if you can forgive her, i bet you that act would make her love you even more. But if you feel you will never be able to love again dont take it up on the next lady you get into a relationship with. True love can be found but you need to be able to sacrifise to make it strong. I intend to resign from my job here in Lagos and join my family in Enugu hopefully i get a good job there but, the distance my wife bared during our dating period is over and intend to give her the best love in the world as her husband.

Nairaland GeneralIts crazy! See Foreign Guys Getting More Deals Than Nigerians In Nigeria by Objonnas(op):
Hello Folks,

Most people think Nigerians are afraid of being Entrepreneurs but the honest truth is that, Nigerians are afraid of chasing Nigerian companies for opportunities because most Nigerian companies would rather do business with light skinned guys with foreign accent than give any upcoming Nigerian a shot to deliver a service to them.

I once heard a British guy say ''it is easier to make money in Nigeria than to sell pencil to a child in London''

I got a call from an international agency asking my to help them to run a campaign and when i asked the name of the campaign i realized it was Nairabet, yet i had gone to Nairabet over 6 times and they said ''we are not ready to do advertising''; a company that brands itself with the word ''Naira'' prefers a Spanish and Portuguese company to mine, just because i am Nigerian and yet those guys bring the deal back for me to execute at a cheaper rate.

I am not forcing any big company to give young Nigerians deals but i am saying one way to aid create jobs is to support young Nigerian entrepreneurs with great courage and passion.

This international guys come into the country daily and leave Nigeria with billions of Naira and they are always bosses here in Nigeria, how many Nigerians outside own big companies or get major deals from major brands outside.

I am sorry i had to mention Nairabet on this post but that's the truth, they prefer to trust outsiders than trust Nigerians, perhaps they should be called ''Dollarbet''

If you have your own experience on how our economy enriches more folks from other countries. share your experience.

PhonesKenya, South Africa And Angola Have Better Smart Phone Culture Than Nigeria by Objonnas(op): 10:19am On Aug 10, 2015
Hello Folks,

Its funny that though the fastest growing mobile market in Africa is Nigeria; Kenya, Angola and South Africa have a better smartphone culture than Nigeria.

This has to change in 2016, as we prepare for new mobile OS like firefox and the likes, we should be the first country that mobile content providers think of when they think of investing in Africa.

Hence Siama a small tech company here in Nigeria, is campaigning to supply insightful and engaging mobile apps to Nigerians at no cost as long as they are smart phone users.

In a campaign to make Nigerians engage more with their smart phones we would like to have a fair idea of smart phone users in Nigeria, their mobile numbers, where there they are based, what state they com from, what phone they use and what kind of apps they would like.

So we can properly target them with the right apps at no cost.

if you are interested, send a mail to jobinna@siamagroup.com in the format below:

Name:

Phone Number:

Sex

State of Origin:

State of base:

Mobile phone model:

Religion:

This information gives us a fair idea of who you are and what kind of apps interest you, this would help alot of app developers in Nigeria get their contents to Nigerians through their smartphone.

For more details call me on: 08114735250

Wish you an enjoyable app moment.
