Cosmass:I was in a similar situation, i helped myself first by always reminding myself that we could not be lover's any more every time we see, i was not ready to lose him totally so i made him become my very close friend ( best friend i can say ) i still can rely on him anytime, i still do everything with him except getting intimate because it will complicate issues, that way you see the person, you are still happy with each other but your heart is beginning to get use to not being intimate but best of friends, with time it will fall in place and you may not even remember so much about the intimate part, ( i call it a soft landing ). that way you will not have to go through the hurt feeling, but it takes a while to get use to it. i ended up not losing someone i love but i gained a friend and confidant, someone i can talk to, rely on, and tell all my secrets to, without looking foolish. i also opened my heart to accept other of his friends, so it helped me to cope when a new GF came into the picture, i knew i was not left out so i did not feel jealous rather we chat when necessary and he made it clear to her that they are no strings between us anymore and that we are close friends and it was going to stay that way, so she should not get in the way to spoil friendship rather she should join in the merriment and SHIP of love and understanding. i don't know how you would do your's , but that was what worked for me. ( MY 2 CENTS ). |
