So you are proud of how things are in this country?

You have to give it to this tinubu government, he is Bleep*ng callous, added 40k across board and called it consequential adjustment, corruption on steroids incoming
Sirtee19:
Only few has received it. Majority are yet to receive anything. Meanwhile, the new minimum wage template is a cheat. It's just a slight difference from the previous one. Imagine, adding 40k across the board for everyone (level 1-17) and then calling this as minimum wage, which is far away from the living wage. The implications of this is that, the corruption is likely to increase in the civil service. Because it can't be compared to the current economic crisis.
Are you guys a BOT? Why are you spreading fake news?

No federal government was earning 30k neither is any federal worker earning 70k except private security guard, cleaners, road sweepers.

Funkyswagzz:
After seeing the saga between dangote refinery and nnpc I just want to say port harcourt refinery will not work. Every section of this country is fantastically corrupt so who will hold nnpc accountable for there misconduct?

There's a section of this country who are adamant on speaking up when it matters but some people will find a way to stigmatise them but everything they said is gradually unfolding so who is now to blame?

Those of you who believe you can fight for a better country you need to wake a section that has given up on that course so they can see a reason to join you. As it stands now the kinda tribal war and disunity going on is unprecedented. And if you don't realise the criminal government in power you are just waisting time.

I watched a Yoruba guy who said if this protest does not involve some serious exchange between civilians and security agents you should count him out. You have to destroy those criminal gang in power in order to rebuild this country.

As for those of you living outside Nigeria enjoying how the country is sinking causing all sorts of confusion everyday be rest assured there will come a time you will realise how uninformed you've always been.
Yes! I believe it will work

You can say that again. Though I'm not a fan of the useless apc and it's members who always take power by force with the help of inec. Let inec repeat the nonsense they did last year in 2027. Igboro maa daru ni. They'd see the anger of the masses from north to south.
Has obaseki not betrayed the pdp members whom he ran to for help when seeking a reelection, shuaibu wouldn't have said he'd run for same office. It was Asue that he brought which angered shuaibu cos they had a plan of zoning the governorship to edo central and picking from among those pdp members who gave him the cover which they needed at such a critical time.

This is a lesson to all. Never feed your enemy or show empathy when in dire need of help. He'd end up swallowing you up. Obaseki deserved the treatment meted out to him. He was booted out by force cos we knew the election was far from being credible. I don't see them winning the case if challenged in courst because baba awon manipulators is the president of Nigeria. He's bought the judiciary over.

Why were they making noise about emefoole printing ways and means then, and the excess cash in circulation? Or was that all a figment of our imagination?

More naira notes in circulation leads to inflation. That is why the CBN actively mops up cash.

You don't even know if CardiB is going to print the 1Trn.
Lol

There's a difference between the CBN printing money and giving it directly to the government and citizens and what the CBN is about to do in the next 3 month. The CBN is not dashing 1.4 trillion to Nigerians or the federal government.

The CBN wants the banks to be able to dispense more cash. A situation you want to withdraw the money in your account from an ATM machine, but the ATM machine won't have cash is about to end.

Some banks will have 10 ATM machine but just one or two will be dispensing cash, the nonsense is about to stop

If only this can be allocated wisely this is able to give 50 million people 30 thousand Naira each.

The government should device a way to pay all Nigerians at least 30 thousand naira a month.

These moneys should be directly paid to the individuals and they should be assigned to Private businesses and supervised around were they live.
The CBN is not dashing anybody 1 Kobo. They are printing more naira notes so people who have money in their account will have more access to their money whenever they want to withdraw from ATM. More ATM machines will now have more cash in them

Jesus Christ! Does this guy have basic knowledge of economics at all? You want to pump 1.4 trillion raw cash into the economy. Does he know what that will do? That's going to overheat the economy. A very massive sugar high in an economy flush with cash of limited value.
The CBN is chasing shadows. Whatever happened to giving the naira value? Cardoso is simply an idiot.
LandMann:
Inflation is going to go higher, naira is going to depreciate more... Nigerians are going to suffer more.

Emkv come and defend your useless government
LeopardX:
Will it not worsen the inflation?

Someone educate me pls as I'm not versatile in issues like this
Creamcrest:
I don't get it,I thought they said they are trying to reduce the excess money in circulation so as to curb inflation. They keep hiking interest rates to achieve that.

And now they come out to say they are trying to ensure enough cash in circulation.

I don't understand. No wonder kperogi called cardoso an "Airhead"
lhurd:
Why are they pumping cash into circulation again? Won't this worsen the inflation rate and further degrade the nairas value.
RoeEvi:
Too much cash flow cripples the economy
NothingDoMe:
Serious inflation loading. Looks like we have mad people at the helm of affairs of this country.
It can't lead to inflation. The CBN is not giving the money to the government neither are they dashing it out to Nigerians.

It will only lead to more naira notes in circulation. I hope he will print a lot of #50,#100 and #200 notes too.

Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party’s candidate in the Edo governorship election, on Monday, strongly criticized the exercise, labeling it a “commodities market” and “transaction” marred by vote-buying and voter apathy.

“As attested to by YIAGA Africa, our sacred electoral process was reduced to a bidding war for votes,” Akpata said in a statement, following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of Monday Okpebholo’s victory.

“As attested to by YIAGA Africa, our sacred electoral process was reduced to a bidding war for votes,” Akpata said in a statement, following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of Monday Okpebholo’s victory.

“Although the election was largely free from historical forms of election-day malpractice such as ballot box snatching and stuffing, it was nevertheless marred by voter intimidation and the falsification of results,” the LP candidate said.

“More insidiously, we witnessed one of the lowest voter turnouts in recent years, a testament to the apathy that has gripped our populace. This disengagement ultimately contributed to the worst-case scenario we now face.”
Akpata, who finished third, accused the PDP and APC of engaging in vote-buying, noting that the low voter turnout facilitated this malpractice.

Akpata, who finished third, accused the PDP and APC of engaging in vote-buying, noting that the low voter turnout facilitated this malpractice.

“Let us be clear: what transpired on 21 September 2024 was not an election but a transaction,” he emphasized.

Analysis:

Akpata’s statement highlights the pervasive issues plaguing Nigeria’s electoral system, including vote-buying and voter apathy. The Edo governorship election has brought attention to the need for electoral reform and increased civic engagement.

“The path to true democracy is often long and fraught with challenges, but it is a journey we must undertake together,” Akpata urged.

During the 2nd Republic, NPN perfected their rigging from landslide to moonslide. It was so bad that opposition UPN was no longer interested in challenging the outcome of the 1983 elections. The rest is now history.

Impunity may last a while, but such cannot become legacy. I am not a prophet of doom, but with the way INEC is carrying on, they may be the architect of the demise of this democracy.

It is never too late to reverse once you realize you are on a wrong course. Nigeria democracy is obviously on the wrong course. INEC is obviously driving it to a precipice. Will they wake up and reverse? Only time will tell.
