That's why it's a slow March to indictments because the law has to prove the strongest case beyond reasonable doubt before criminal trump is indicted.

There's no indictment because there's no case. The Statute of Limitations has already elapsed, so the case would get dismissed.

Misdemeanors have an SoL of 2 years but can be extended to 5 years if the defendant has been outside the state continuously or cannot be located during that time. Most felonies (barring rape and murder) have an SoLf 5 years too. Whatever the case may be, it seems like the time has elapsed.
