Pamperme thanks for today's reading - God can grant even the pagans the repentance that leads to life. God has a perfect plan for the salvation of all people, he knocks on the door of our heart pleading to come in and dine with us, only if we will open for him.

In today's Gospel reading, clearly Jesus was not discussing sheep just because they are gentle, pleasant animals, rather He used their innocent, trusting nature to demonstrate the qualities that will enable us to know Him more.
The sheep will follow only the shepherd's voice because they know that he has their concerns at the forefront of his heart

We live in a time when many voices call out to us in the course of a day. While some of these voices are good and others not so good, any one of them can quickly gain the upper hand and distract us from the one Voice we should never ignore: the voice of Jesus

When we give the other voices top priority, we end up distant from the Lord - and that can lead us to feeling distracted. tired and unproductive. By contrast, when we are listening to Jesus, his words confort us and give us peace. He helps us with our responsibilities and he helps to quiet the voice of anxiety or resentment.

Though all our worries will not disappear overnight, some may never go away, but Jesus promises that like the good shepherd, He will never abandon us. He will walk with us and guide us with his wisdom.

Happy Good Shepherd Sunday all!

Let us surrender our hearts to Jesus, He knows everything we need. Let us ask Him to help us hear His voice above all the others. We must cling to Him alone, who is our Good Shepherd.

Our Mother Mary is ever willing to help us decipher the many voices we hear, She is there to lead us to Jesus, please go to Her and pay no attention to what others say about Her, She is the Mother of our Saviour Jesus Christ,

Why? You no wan even dey brief me how St Charles Olodi, Apapa dey now. I could remember one group that used to meet every Sunday 4pm - it comprises young brothers and sisters. My cousin used to tell me about the group then and they used to pay him visits. I can't remember the name of the group and they give report like Legionaries.

Mass: 3 times
Communion: once
Visit to the Blessed/S: 5 time
Something like that but they are not Legionaries. Are they still existing?

I'm telling you, I switch my phone off from 10pm till the next morning because I don't joke with my sleep except now my mum is sick. It's now on for 24hrs. If there is anything my friends wants us to discuss, then let be daytime. Some people often disturb others with their midnight calls and it's wrong.

who hv been wit me on ths thread and several oda catolic thred, something happened to

me yesterday night and it seemes to hav changd my whole conception of the catholic church.

i had a dream and i can't give details here but the thing is that i am begining to see

the truth in all what people like pilgrim, sysuser and others have been saying all along.

i mean if the bible says we should not do a thing and men in the church say we should don't

u think it is wrong. see help me out here because am very confused now.

all my life i have believed in the catholic church but this dream i had tells me more

Today's Saint

St. Hesychius of Jerusalem (c. 450)

Not only is the name of today's saint a bit hard to pronounce and spell. It's also difficult to learn about such a modest and gentle man who lived in the fourth and fifth century and who is better known in the Russian Orthodox Church.

The birth date of Hesychius (pronounced HESH-us) is unclear, but we know that he was a priest and monk who wrote a history of the Church, unfortunately lost. He also wrote about many of the burning issues of his day. These included the heresy of Nestorianism, which held that there were two separate persons in Jesus—one human, one divine—and the heresy of Arianism, which denied the divinity of Christ. Some of his commentaries on the books of the Bible as well, along with meditations on the prophets and homilies on the Blessed Virgin Mary, still survive.

It's believed Hesychius delivered Easter homilies in the basilica in Jerusalem thought to be the place of the crucifixion.

His words on the Eucharist, written centuries ago, speak to us today: "Keep yourselves free from sin so that every day you may share in the mystic meal; by doing so our bodies become the body of Christ."

Hesychius died around the year 450.
