Quote from from Ebos to Cgift "I never marry, you come first me mary? You must explain why?" Cgift can you answer why u got married when Ebos is yet single? y u jump that question? |
I dey weep o! Chai. So na the life support for una be that. Well, that does not change the fact that the RCC runs on doctrines antithetical to the goal of God for mankind. Wake up from your slumber. I wont hang on with you to those whimperings of yours all in a bid to evade the truth. You don't know me, my family and the rest and who stays with me. For your info, all those things were done in he past. I am a fully married man now with kids living in the love of God with my family. So do not try to cling to a breakable life-saver all in the name of some 'yabbies' or what do you call it. My advice is this: look unto Jesus only, defy all other doctrines not of God. I have been telling you this, take the bible and do a deep soul-searching study. God will reveal himself to you. You need not remain in a place where blasphemies are being preached? Stand up for yourself, reclaim your thinking cap that you submittd t oyour priests/bishops/popes and search th scriptures for yourselves. God will find you. Thank you. I was saved in the Catholic church, that is where i found my Jesus, he gave me peace that surpasses anything that i can think of. And i hope is the same peace u received. |
@Pilgrim.1 Who know whether Pilgrim self dey find e own members too to build her own church, since she refuse to disclose her denomination ![]() |
@Gozizi The Bible is not always easily understood. The whole Book of Revelation is a glaring example. St Paul’s own contemporaries found him difficult to understand, as St Peter himself states in his second Letter: “So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.” (2 Pt 2:15-16) With the inspiration of the Holy Spirit the Bible is understood, but many of these brethren lack this divine inspiration that is the reason why u see so many churches everywhere because of disagreement. Is either this one finds fault in the other persons teaching and before u know it he starts gathering his own members. May God help them and Mother Mary intercedes |
@Cgift Na for Ajegunle i grow up. Na today Shey u like Yabbis. Abeg tell us if you bi area boy since u sey na for Ajegunle dem born u. Maybe na area boy we dey follow yarn since we no know. No quote me wrong oooo (u no sey Devil himself dey quote Bible) ![]() |
@Cgift You see thats why as a Christain you don't talk too much, b4 u no it u sell urself out. I don catch u dir and you dey sey no bi that kind yabbis u mean, which yabbis u kon mean? See yabbis or joke anyone wey e bi, as far sey e no glorify God, then u are not for God. U have to put ur house in order, that is the only thing i gat 4u. You claim u know the bible, but in action there is nothing to write home about. Most of una wey dey write all this about Catholics, if we start to make research, u go find out sey una no bi Christain at all. U go read Bible so tey Bible go start to read you because u no understand am. Make God help us. Glory to Daddy Jesus!!!!!!!!!! Honour to our Mummy Mary ![]() |
@viee Yes ooooo. Heavenly race i no go tire, i no go tire |
@Soldee I realize that arguing and even responding to arguments can easily evoke anger, frustration, exasperation and a tendency to want to respond to disagreeable posters in their own tone and language. Not a very Godly, christian or marian attitude. I will spread love and good cheer, hope and encouragement to fellow Catholics and non-catholics alike and pray that the we are all one way or the other touched by Love. Because God is Love, and he who abides in Love, abides in God, and God in Him. You are very right my brother. May God help us all and Mary intercede. |
@cgift i no go lie you. me i dey catch plenty fun when one person de yab another! e no yab person reach my three junior brothers. Na for Ajegunle i grow up. Na today But if you are a good Christain, bad thing no suppose make u happy, but it saddens you. (You see is not all about quoting the word of God, but understanding and putting it into practise) If your three junior brothers dey yab too, na him bi sey u never start as Christain, u get plenty work to do in your family. And you never finish am, u dey come talk to us. |
Pilgrim, pilgrim, this your name sound like sey u don go mecca bfor, abi na Jerusalem? i get the kind of una plenty, but dem no dey yan like u at all. dem dey maintain, be ur own make i be my own na him we dey. The only thing we do is exchange of word of God and no time 4 Criticizing. |
My word is especially for the two of u (pilgrim.1 and Cgift). Sit down and reflect very well. You can laff from now till i don't know when, but all i am saying is to ask for wisdom and understanding from God and listen to him (if actually u listen to God) and he will tell you all you want to know, if the Catholic church is worth all these criticizing from u. |
@Pilgrim.1 and Cgift If you call yourselves true christain, i believe if you pray and seek the face of God with all truth, he doesn't fail to listen or disclose things to you. Can you go into prayers (add fasting to it, maybe 3 days) Ask God to reveal to you what you want to know or the truth about the Catholic church, then come back here and tell us. (Its an assignment) But remember don't say what God has not said, remember Balak and Balaam in book of Numbers 22 and 23. |
Just sit down and ask urself the question and if really you are a good Christain, u suppose to be listening to know what God has to tell you about the Catholic church. Is not all about quoting from Genesis to Revelation, but understanding the word. |
@Pilgrim.1 Have you tried to tell yourself the truth? and do you listen to God to hear from him concerning the Catholics? |
To Mature In Our Walk Father, I'm praying for myself and others (Ebos, Carlosein, Vies, Orobo 50cl, Pilgrim.1, Cgift and others that i can't remember now) in my circle of family and friends to become increasingly mature in Christ, Some have been content not to grow. They've continued to live as infants in Christ, settling for the milk of the Word, not ready to move on to solid food—sometimes for years. Forgive them and change them; help them be willing to grow, to become more mature in their walk, their understanding, and their application of Your Word. (1 Corinthians 3:2; Hebrews 5:12-14) Help all of us to see wonderful things in Your Word and be eager to live by Your rules, not ours. Direct our steps according to the Word; let no sin rule over us. (Psalm 119:18, 9, 133) Give us a genuine desire to grow beyond simple, elementary truth, becoming strong in our understanding, as we should. (Hebrews 6:1–3) Grant us perseverance so we'll not only begin but continue to grow in Christ, so one day we'll be complete and not lack anything. Help us count the cost of time and energy and be willing to pay the price. (James 1:4; Luke 14:28) May we choose to grow spiritually. In Jesus' name, amen. Jesus Provides, Mary intercedes. |
@Ebos This prayer is for you and others who needs strength to move on. Prayer for Trust in Jesus O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness, give us the sense of Your presence, Your love, and Your strength. Help us to have perfect trust in Your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living close to You, we shall see Your hand, Your purpose, Your will through all things. Amen St. Ignatius of Loyola |
Todays Saint 27/9/07 St. Vincent de Paul (1580?-1660) The deathbed confession of a dying servant opened Vincent's eyes to the crying spiritual needs of the peasantry of France. This seems to have been a crucial moment in the life of the man from a small farm in Gascony, France, who had become a priest with little more ambition than to have a comfortable life. It was the Countess de Gondi (whose servant he had helped) who persuaded her husband to endow and support a group of able and zealous missionaries who would work among the poor, the vassals and tenants and the country people in general. Vincent was too humble to accept leadership at first, but after working for some time in Paris among imprisoned galley-slaves, he returned to be the leader of what is now known as the Congregation of the Mission, or the Vincentians. These priests, with vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and stability, were to devote themselves entirely to the people in smaller towns and villages. Later Vincent established confraternities of charity for the spiritual and physical relief of the poor and sick of each parish. From these, with the help of St. Louise de Marillac, came the Daughters of Charity, "whose convent is the sickroom, whose chapel is the parish church, whose cloister is the streets of the city." He organized the rich women of Paris to collect funds for his missionary projects, founded several hospitals, collected relief funds for the victims of war and ransomed over 1,200 galley slaves from North Africa. He was zealous in conducting retreats for clergy at a time when there was great laxity, abuse and ignorance among them. He was a pioneer in clerical training and was instrumental in establishing seminaries. Most remarkably, Vincent was by temperament a very irascible person—even his friends admitted it. He said that except for the grace of God he would have been "hard and repulsive, rough and cross." But he became a tender and affectionate man, very sensitive to the needs of others. Pope Leo XIII made him the patron of all charitable societies. Outstanding among these, of course, is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, founded in 1833 by his admirer Blessed Frederic Ozanam. Quote "Strive to live content in the midst of those things that cause your discontent. Free your mind from all that troubles you, God will take care of things. You will be unable to make haste in this [choice] without, so to speak, grieving the heart of God, because he sees that you do not honor him sufficiently with holy trust. Trust in him, I beg you, and you will have the fulfillment of what your heart desires" (St. Vincent de Paul, Letters). |
@orobo Thank you very much. But e get wetin abi wan tell you (Hope you no go vex) but as my own brethren i feel like telling you. No matter how this people (our fellow brethrens) try to provoke us, make we try to control ourself not to voice out wetin we no suppose voice out as Christains. Make we dey in charge of our tongue than our tongue taking charge of us. Read the book of James 3:5-12 and Psalm 39:1 Please never allow anyone to make u sey wetin u no wan talk. By the Grace of God we go make heaven. Jesus Provides, Mary intercedes. No vex for me o, but as my brother i owe u that. |
@Carlosein Whatever the intention is, be rest assured that the Lord has taken control in Jesus name. But all he needs from you is that faith, confidence, assurance, conviction that it has been done. Any living faith must operate in lively hope 1 peter 1:3 Faith moves the mountain that seems immovable; Never doubt (rebuke every doubt in you), Be obedient to God Humble yourself Give weakness no chance - remind God of his promises Command those point to come into existence - there is power in the tongue |
You guys should continue with your Catholic faith. I love your respective positions and the prayers posted so far. They are really nice prayers, but to be honest, ebos is seriously lacking behind. I need your prayers. I have not participated in all devotions from 2004 till date- I mean May or October devotion. I tried to attend this year’s May devotion but was only active for just 4 days. Poor me! @Ebos This is the time to ginger urself up again, even if you don't attend the devotion maybe because of lack of time, you can pray the Rosary on ur own. 2004 till date is very long time. You have to maintain the stand. Prayer is our weapon. |
Prayer in Honor of Mary's Courage Mary, you heard a voice. You answered, "Yes," risking shame and disgrace, ridicule and rejection. Still, you said, "Yes." Yes, to the promise you received from God. Yes, to the birth of a firstborn son. Let your trust be our inspiration, your faith be our guide, your hope our course for courage. This we ask in the name of the child you bore, the Savior of the world, who came through God's abiding love and your spoken word. Yes. So be it. Amen. |
Rekindle In Me O Breath of the Father, rekindle in me the spark of love that you placed in me when I was baptized and confirmed. Replenish in me your holy gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of the Lord so that I might better serve all in holiness all my days. Amen from Saint Paul: Called to Conversion |
Saint of the Day Sts. Cosmas and Damian (d. 303?) Nothing is known of their lives except that they suffered martyrdom in Syria during the persecution of Diocletian. A church erected on the site of their burial place was enlarged by the emperor Justinian. Devotion to the two saints spread rapidly in both East and West. A famous basilica was erected in their honor in Constantinople. Their names were placed in the canon of the Mass, probably in the sixth century. Legend says that they were twin brothers born in Arabia, who became skilled doctors. They were among those who are venerated in the East as the "moneyless ones" because they did not charge a fee for their services. It was impossible that such prominent persons would escape unnoticed in time of persecution: They were arrested and beheaded. Quote "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). |
