C'mmon guys, we shouldn't be doing this banters, insults, names calling and trolling at any level by now. We have been here too long to know better.

The much recently telegram battlefield channel, a branch of this thread gives an insight to how a two way civil communication should be, that channel holds more conversation, post pictures, constructive criticism and daily debates on contrasting views than we do here and not for once since after joining have i seen them fight, quarrel or throw banters as we do here. Their level of respect, good communication ethics and mutual respect is second to none. Google "battlefieldgroup01" join the telegram channel and have a feel to what i mean.

It is their serene environment that even pulls big names in the defense microblogging platforms from twitter and Instagram frontline reporters into the group.

We can do better guys, not all comments needs a response, we can read and ignore trolls.

Godbless us all.

This is totally unfair, unacceptable and a clear case of hatred against the Police by the current administration of PMB.

We are a vital actor in the theatre, currently, the police has more than 5 squadron deployed in the NE. In the last 6yrs of PMB, the Police has benefited nothing from a logistical point of view.

NAF got 12 Tucanos, 3 JF-17, they're expecting more MI and drones. The Army on the other hand has gotten its fair share of logistics. Not a single pump action or tear gas was purchase for the Police.

How do you expect the Police to take over liberated territories from the army? Are we going to use those rickety Nissan vehicles and Shagari era APCs we have?

No body should come here and be complaining that the police are not living up to expectations. Everyone is watching this board daylight neglect.

When treating Malaria, you don't only take anti malaria, you also take panadol
You have spoken well NafeesaAA.

I have been on the proposing side for better equipping and functionality of the NPF, given them the right tools and reengineering structurally to enable them do a better job for all Nigerians. You spoke well and anyone without a whimp idea on the shallow thinking and stinking corruption bedeviling them even at the expense of their lives seamlessly bounding the officers, the rank and file would fall for theses gimmicks just as i had. Gimmicks? Yes, ma'am Gimmicks.

I wouldn't dwell on the outright corruption, we all know is a bone stuck in their necks they rather die with than vomit but preferably, i would be reveling to you the simple things that must have led to their unrespected status when it comes to budgeting and allocations in Nigeria.

We all know most institutions, hospitals, federal parastatals and varsities have all suffered from the Nigeria's governments underfunding but did that ever stop them from carrying out their basic constitutional roles the best way they can? No!. Have you been to a hospital and there wasn't any form of help because of governments underfunding, in worse case scenarios you pay and they get the work done, but with the Nigeria police force we have seen a "Total disregard" of their basic roles and functions with the excuse of underfunding. Policing the country, crime prevention and enforcement of justice have been thrown out the window; if it doesn't bring in money then they say 'it be damned', and even when it brings out money nothing is done else they share amongst a few and do nothing why?, The Nigeria police force has forfeited it's roles to the Armed forces of Nigeria. Basic patrols have been turn to to money milking venture, investigations barely yield results at the community and divisional levels, they can barely contain street crime and urchins, home bulgers and armed robbers give police a run for their training leaving them with unbeaten most times. Our marine units, Mopol units and the strategic checkpoints have all lost it's relevance everything has been suited for one aim and one aim alone to 'Extort' eroding professionalism for an institution that can be bought, not only bought; but cheaply as it stands.

These has made people to lose faith in them, they rather kill criminals (Jungle justice) than hand them to the police for prosecution . All these was pointing to anarchy and gradually gave the federal government more impetus to allow the army step in the police as didn't show competence at any level and the NA at least wouldn't be cheaply bought by just anybody.

We have been in more recent times battling with insurgency and now banditry, what capacity has the police brought to show it wants to fight for it's place on the table? We have seen the NIGERIA ARMY AND THE AIRFORCE metamorphose to tackle the challenges head on, we saw several trainings by the army from conventional Orbat to CT-COIN warfare, same with the Airforce giving birth to the Panthers. What has the Nigeria police force done 'efficiently' to enhance their capacity knowing they police the largest expanse of land?, they gave birth to CT TRAINING TO SOME PERSONNELS, which most have now been channeled to Special protection units for those individuals with big bags in the society, all the investment by the federal government now wasted, the investment in special weapons and trucks left to rot. Why aren't the police changing the Orbat to tackling non-state actor whenever they might arise from in any part of the country before the army is drafted in?.

SOLUTION: It's going to be a long road but they should stop their rhetoric's and create a special Swat team, with about a 100 men in each state, they should be well equipped with tactical gears, armored and soft skin mobility(APC 2 per state X 36 =72), heavy firepower and communications. They would be spaced in each state at least into four teams comprising of 25 men for each formation, they should have their own building's within the police division commands and one at the state command no matter how small provisions should be made for their hostels and lounge. This team would form the tip of the spear for any challenge too overwhelming for the Mopol units in any state. They aren't for patrols except in critical times, each roll out squad should comprise of a 10 man team, meaning we have two teams and a reserve of 5 men. These 5 men must be at the base incase of backups or emergencies when a unit calls. If they can stay highly disciplined and dedicated they would motivate a face lift of the Nigeria police force. You as an IGP can invite the CiC, members of the senate and HoR for your annual drills and wispher your needs in campaigning for more budget allocations.

Let's talk about your budget, have you seen the police budget for and their supplementary budgets?, you would weep, THEY COMPLAIN OF BEEN UNDERFUNDED BUT you would see an outright lack of foresight, what is their short and long term plan? it was rather full of sadist heart breaking tags which gives a pointer to the fact these men aren't rather to take charge of their roles. Anyone who has the budget can help post it to show the cancer with planning, killing the NPF.

Let's talk about the massive funding by their special protection units running into billions as reported sometime back during the last IGP'S tenure, cooperate organization, well meaning Nigerians and the most importantly the support by the state's government, example LASG,RVSG and a whole lot of others.

What is their maintenance culture? Everything isn't about money.

The police has programmed itself for failure with their redundancy and outright lack of planning. Respect is earned not given, did you notice the last security meeting where the President was briefed at the state house the Igp wasn't in attendance?
