Hello guys, CAFAN in Akwa Ibom just introduced an Anchor growers scheme in the state for 1000 farmers.
It is a CBN loan that will involve a company giving farm inputs to farmers and buying all the fish during harvest
The summary of it all is this:
1. You will be given at least 5000 juveniles @ N40 per one = N200,000
2. You will be given 150 bags of a Nigerian feed at N6000 per bag =N900,000
3. cash for the farm management n salaries
Everything will sum up to about 1.3m
Note: you will not be given physical money but the inputs will be supplied to you.
At the end of 3 months, the uptaker will come and harvest your fish and pay N500 per kilo
You are meant to have atleast 3250kg of fish at harvest to qualify for another loan.

Please kindly assist to analysis

This requires a straight answer. Is the price for fingerlings and feed OK? No
Is the price/Kg OK? No. Will 150bags of feed be enough to achieve the projected weight of 3250Kg? No, Not even with the best of fcr. With 150 bags of 15Kg, the most you could achieve will likely fall below 2,000Kg.
