Banks do not give much interest on deposit. Some give 5% while some give 3% ,it's only few banks give up to 6% or above but it can't be more thank 10% for less than a year deposit and it ll be under negotiation.. Banks give loan to their customers on 20% interest rate per month but collect deposit for less than 5% or at most 10% for one year interest rate. You can see that they make extra profit from the deposit. ei if someone borrow 100k from the bank, he ll pay back 120k in one month. But, someone who deposit 100k in the bank ll get 105k in one year. UBE teachers wished SSSB teachers to have received salary greater than what was actually paid to them. Thus, when we were told that SSSB have increased their step to 6 and 7,we were all happy and emotionally shot canon on their behalf, knowing quite well that one day the salary ll be harmonized, considering the fact that the two board are one and in same ministry .

No interview or screening is needed at this stage, only your application letter, and attached photocopy of your TRCN are needed. In your application remember to include your staff ID card number, and computer number.

Direction: As you enter the PPSB compound facing the main building, then move to the building at the right hand side, climb the upstair, ask any staff, he/she will direct you where to submit it.

The application can be both handwritten or typed. Mine was handwritten.

To collect your TRCN certificate: if you have your PGDE or any other qualification in education, register for TRCN exam, write and pass the exam.
When the result comes out, you will pay a certain amount to apply for your certificate, it usually take some months to come out. Maybe 4 to 8 months, better still, you can follow it up by calling their state coordinator.

UBEB effected the promotion of staff in August and SSSB implemented theirs in September. It sparked a debate due to the discrepancies in remuneration. This note intends to help explain what is going on.

To simplify understanding, I'll use the salary grade of 2013 teachers to explain the confusion.

UBEB Teachers with B.Sc (8/3) were moved to (12/3) with a net pay of 108k. Teachers with B.Ed (8/4) were moved to (12/4) with a net pay of 112k.

Moreover, credit worthiness ll come to play it's role here as banks(local and international), wealthy business men in diaspora and within,coporate entities, rich politicians and party supporters etc would be willing to give financial support so that the name of the individual as well as the party ll not be rub on the mud

The Executive Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board Ven. Fyneface Akah this morning inaugurated the Promotion Letters Committee headed by Dr. Sam Obisike.

Addressing the committee members who also are staff drawn from the Board Headquarters and the Local Government Areas Akah advised them to be committed to the assignment given to them and ensure that they adhere strictly to what they have been instructed to do.

While assuring them of support and an enabling environment to do their work the Board Chairman cautioned against acts or behaviours capable of delaying the job as he would be ready to start signing the promotion letters from tomorrow and gave up to the second week of September 2023 as deadline to conclude the work.

In his speech, chairman of the committee Dr. Sam Obisike assured the chairman of the committee's readiness to deliver appropriately and thanked the Board for chosing them.

Part of the committee's work is to among things look at the date of employment and last promotion as well as grade levels.

Present at the inauguration ceremony this morning were Commissioner Services Dr. Precious Baridoo and Board Directors.

The board knew what was in the system before releasing this information . The board ll rectify the level and step for each and everyone. My fear now is....who ll bear the consequences and the loss of this mistake? In a civilized society some people indicted in this saga would be forced to resign. its out of incompetence
If this mistake is corrected and money deducted returned, know that it was not deliberate, because there re softwares in the system that can place everyone in the level and step they re suppose to be without stress. Am surprise we re still in analog age

I no hear anything o,i dey follow their payment pattern. they rarely pay on monday. they would pay on monday if only zenith or few other Bank have paid on friday. The fear of RSG is the beginning of wisdom. My advice to my friends and colleagues is to anticipate with caution. I have never trusted this government of secrecy. They may decide to add 10k to everyone's salary.

It's beyond that stage.10k ll be palliative only , which we re not sure of coming to our reach but,promotion and it's implementation is mature ,ripe and about to drop.it may or may not be paid at the end of this month becos of the delay in constituting the board but it ll be paid sooner
Palliative and implementation of promotion knocking at the same time has thrown the Government into permutation,;which to allow and which to leave behind.if palliative is given to workers ,they ll ask for the implementation of promotion but if they're given promotion they may be reluctant to ask for palliative. palliative is at the discretion of the government. they determine who n how much to give out as palliative

You people are saying what you don't know here.The acting Chairman has right to endorse all documents as far as SSSB is concerned.The truth of the matter is that the promotion letters are moving in batches to ascertain the correct amount to be paid.The arrears of the promotion are dated back to June and so if you get yours by next Month,you will be your arrears of salary.Th UBEB will get their promotion letters next week and their arrears Will be paid too.The SSSB will get theirs next month.
