@justwise thank you very much for the answer. Can i ask if the 28 days of bank balance for uk visa can be overlooked by the visa officer. Or can i tell my school to send a recommendation letter regards the urgency of the visa so the 28 days waiting should be ignored.?. |
Thats the question please i need helpful answers. Thank you. |
My brother i read all the comments and posts before deciding to drop my own. See! what killed your dream abroad was IMPATIENCE. No be person witch you. I always tell people 99% of our life problems are caused by us or self generated. You were carried away by the so called 'MAKE IT BIG ABROAD' ideology. Forgeting the fact that good and better things come to those who wait. The habit of patience has been the secret to most great men in the world today. Patience leads a man to the right place to the right thing at the right time and get the right and desired result. Patience gives you the ability to play the game according to its rules. Patience leads to fair play while impatient leads to foul play. Everyday of our lives is a learning process and every event whether bad or good is a lesson learnt. So you've learnt your lesson. What i recommend is, learn to be patient. Only that will you have the chance to think right and do right. |

I want to appreciate the thread owner for this correction of english errors. Sometimes when you correct people. They will just call you 'oversabi' na u know book pass?. These are few i've identified. People say; Nigeria is our own country(our and own mean possession in like terms so use one). I saw a little baby(little and baby means same description of human size. So just say baby) This test is like a tall mountain to climb(pls all mountains are tall so use one i.e mountain). I donate this on behalf of me and my family(the word on behalf is used for things not fully available and the word family includes the donor. So no need to say on behalf me and my family;just say on behalf of my family. Thank you. |

AKMoney1:hahaha English is very wild and very interesting to discuss, perhaps we learn everyday. People will just say a complete sentence just needs a subject, verb/predicate but end up making clauses known as dependent clauses, which are incomplete sentences, because they lack what the englishman call 'complete thought'(google this bro) A complete thought transforms a statement with dependent clause to be self-explanatory to a good user of english. Because of time I'll use some of your examples for proper understanding. Nairaland is owned by seun osewa. This sentence is a dependent clause because someone with no knowledge of nairaland will ask you what is nairaland?. But a complete sentence with a subject, verb/predicate and a complete thought will do the explanation. Simply put........ The social media nairaland is owned by seun osewa. Secondly you said 'oluwa is involved'. This statement is a typical clause brother! To make it a complete sentence i'll rather say; Oluwa the God in Yoruba is involved. And nobody will ask what is oluwa?. This further buttress my point that 'THE'. Makes your sentence very complete. That is why it is most times unavoidable and popular. See this..... The president of the United States is Barack Obama. Can you smell the completness in that. |
If you're a student nw or before, when or living in the Uk presently. Please tell us how you got the job and how you coped with your studies at the same time. I Like to work to support self and get busy but studies is still the priority. |
1. The word Ambulance is deliberately written backwards for a correct view in other drivers mirror. 2. The US dollar note can never be scanned or photocopied correctly by any scanner or photocopier in the world except the ones at the US treasury 3. When all the colours in the world are mixed together, you'll get the colour'BLACK'. 4. The most popular word in English language is 'THE'( you can never make a complete sentence without it. 5. The word 'READ' is the only English word that has two prounciation(one as past, the other as a present tense). 6. People will always make the mistake of using this words at the same time.(REASON WHY). Please don't do it, you are right to use one only. 7. You have always said thesame but the correct way to spell is.......... the same(separated). 8. We no longer have 9 planets but 8. The last planet pluto have since be confirmed as not a planet. So teachers please correct yourselves. 9. Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria(most lagosians don't believe this). But browse please. 10. An egg can float on a salty water(do the experiment). These are some cool facts you should know and be sure even when you're been threatened by friends to a place a bet. Trust me you'll win. |

In our educational system today success is still news but failure is no news to anyone. What is the cause of failure. Students will blame wicked or bad teachers/lecturers. While teachers and lecturers will blame students for been lazy. What do you think is the cause of failure in schools?. |

Women are fast growing in politics. There are now countries with notable female presidents and Nigeria has women who are deputy governors and some now aspiring to be governors. Very soon they will try the mission impossible, that is to become the president of Nigeria. The question is; can a woman be the president of Nigeria |
My apologies to everyone on the thread for the wrong kickoff time of 4pm the correct time is 2pm. So till 2:30pm keep on predicting. |
