The point is we can't have world class in every position. It's not possible. We can list at least 7 players that are very well above average in this team. At least let those ones play at their highest level first. We will bring in new guys and after some games, people will begin to question their ability. We have seen this play out too many times in this team. Let the ones we have currently play up to their ability first. The board will be more than willing to go all out to get some targets because it will be obvious by then what is missing in the team.

If you were among the decision makers, will you bring in players to bench your 200k plus earners, knowing fully well that the coach or someone assured you of their contribution to the team? If we want new players, let them sell some of the ones we have currently.

The answer to this question lies on the goals and objectives setout to OGS by the board at the beginning of the season and that is to qualify for the CL. Aside that even we the fans echoed the same sentiment how qualifying for CL was top priority. Well Ole qualified meaning the season's objective was achieved. Now I am disappointed as every other United fan that we didn't win a trophy this season but shit happens, we made semis in all the cups and lost by we not taking our chances ,it happens even to best teams. Smalling is a decent defender but very poor on the ball and that becomes a problem in a fast paced league.

Also think of this. Good teams like PSG, Bayern can have loads of really good players with a few average players in the mix, BUT our team had loads of average players with a few good players in the mix.
THAT IS OUR PROBLEM.

Each of these players on his own might not be too bad but when you gather them together in one team the problems start to show.
For example, if you play James with Pogba and Bruno he might not perform that poorly compared to if you play him the next week with Pereira and Lingard.

Serie A is a poor league, La Liga poor league, bundesliga poor league, ligue one, but those guys will disgrace EPL teams. Funny.

My point is still bring the best out of your players. Martial for all his skills should be a better goal scorer. Greenwood should be hanging goals next season with his abilities. Rashford can do better. We have the guys to win at least a spoon.
