Thank you. It is advisable to show money in your account especially as you have family. Their logic is that they would not expect your brother to shoulder the cost of you and your family and also shoulder his.

Congratulations to you. Pls I need your advice on this, my Brother is the one sponsoring for my education as well. I am married and will like to go with my husband, but both of us don't have money in our accounts for POF.
Is it compulsory we must have money in our accounts, even though my brother is the sponsor??

PPR Arrived! Finally it has ended in praise. I got my Canada visitor visa approved in July 2023 but I decided to go for the study permit route. I was afraid cos I was not sure if they gonna reject my application but @Zubizareta shared his success story and that encouraged me to go ahead. I am grateful for the advice I received from this group most especially @Zubizareta, Abeg this guy sabi the process wella. Initially I was apprehensive and not sure if he was legit. But trust me, @Zubizareta held my hand through the process and helped me with my SOP, very powerful one. @Zubizareta na guru, he also helped me with the supporting documents to include. I have a visit visa to Canada already, issued this month. My brother invited me and presented his statement, international passport and employment letter for that purpose and visa was granted. But now he advised me to apply for school so I can put in for study permit to be able to remain in Canada. Initially, in my visit visa application I put that I will only be staying only 4weeks. Now that I am trying to switch from visit visa to study permit, I am worried if that will be an issue.
zubizareta:
Well well, I kind of disagree here. If his Visa is denied, it's certainly cos his home and economic ties were weak and not necessarily because of his Canada ties.

He needs to make his home and economic ties stronger than his Canada ties. Many ppl here have had their siblings in Canada be their sponsors. His brother funding his account doesn't change anything. Doesn't change the fact he still has Canada ties. The most important thing is making sure he uses his SOP to project himself to have so much economical and home ties that he will definitely leave Canada after study.

I am single guy, applied to Conestoga College 2024 Spring semester, waiting for my LOA. Pls is there any issue if my elder Brother who is based in Ontario Canada be my sponsor, can I present his Canadian bank statement and affidavit of support to back my application ? Will that affect my establishing of strong home ties ?

Thank you Chidinma for the heads-up. I know you will get that PPR, never give up!
Chidinma54055:
I was denied last week due to the same reason. It’s better to go for a course related to your previous course of study or your current career. Unless you can write a good SOP to convince the VO. I got admission for the same course and my visa was refused. So it’s better you go for an admin related program

What have you been doing in the last 17 years as par career? I hope it is related to health or social work?
My career has been Admin related but nothing social work or health. I put Personal support worker because I learnt they are in demand in Canada and easy to get work after studies. My concern if this is a red flag to the visa officer.

Hi Seniors, I got admission for Graduate Diploma Personal Support Worker at Conestoga College Ontario for Fall 2023 and paid my acceptance fee of 1500CAD. Please, can someone here help me with SOP writing ?

I have like 17 years gap since my B.Sc in Mass Communication. Would that be an issue with the Canada student visa ?

Thank you.
