DECISION
We never knew we would think of leaving this country until 2017; thanks to Bubu. A friend of mine in Canada told me about it but we just didn't put our interest, we told ourselves-hubby and I that we would make it here. Not until things got so bad-we all know the situation, we knew then that we had to make a decision. And the first move we made was to get our passports which took us two months(Nigeria I hail thee) and then everything followed.

EVALUATION
We evaluated our documents using different bodies; hubby used IQAS and I used PEBC. It took him 8 weeks and mine took six long months. Our transcripts was just a click away online. For pharmacists, make sure you download the ECA report alongside your checklists from PEBC website.

IELTS
We applied for the exams together with our evaluation to pass time and then to study well. We would study reading and writing at work then come home and do listening and speaking together. To be honest, I never studied how to write, I just thought it was the usual essays we did in school. When the results came out, "they gave me'', L8R9S7.5W6. What did they even given my husband?
Boy was I crushed. The fees are quite expensive to just throw away but I simply rebooked and studied harder. The second exam was a scare for me- I was literally shaking in the hall. I complained of my earphone many times! Hubby was with our child outside the hall and he was pacing and nervous as well. My biggest challenge was listening having missed three questions; I kinda guessed the answers. The result came out and yet again with
L9R8.5S8W6.5. This was so demoralizing. I remember telling my husband as he went to get the results that if they were good, he should say,'"Thank God'", but if they were not as we expected, he should say,'It is well'.
We quickly went for a remark- I was sure of what I wrote during the exams and I graded myself during preparation with Cambridge IELTS and I had done an appraisal on 6.5 points and above. Three weeks after, we got our results. Hubby said he was so scared and tensed. His anxiety was majorly because of the tortuous journey if it turned out unexpected. In fact, his whole body system changed as he held the envelop. And when he opened the envelop, it was upgraded!

PCC
Nothing extraordinary.

POF
Here was the big hurdle. We were a family of three and expecting one and we didn't know how we would have achieved such feat. But then we started a novena to Our Lady the Undoer of Knots. To cut the story short, our families supported us. In all, we printed a gift deed from my brother, six months statement of account, our savings then my husband's pension. We did not put our money in Mutual Fund or Treasury bill. I had my worries when I saw people puttting their monies in T.bill and MF.

WORK EXPERIENCE
I claimed three years work experience from my internship, NYSC and my current occupation. I got the reference letters in CIC format. I did not attach any pay slips- I can't remember why I did not add them.

MEDICALS
We did our medicals at IOM Abuja having booked two days before the examination.

SUBMISSION
We submitted on the 3rd of May, 2019 after crosschecking our documents. To be honest, there is this respite you get you click the submit button and then it writes successful. We were very happy and went back our normal lives, counting our days. I joined a tracker group online just to see the trends and timeline. That was when Medical Passed usually came after 40 days or so. When I saw May AORs getting their medicals passed, i knew ours was near. I was in the office when I saw an email notification; and I opened my mail to see a "Do not reply..."message. My chest was thumping as I opened my account, and then I saw it...Cancelled!
I was shocked, my hands were shaking, my eyes were teary and I almost fell off my seats as the room felt as though it was moving round. The cancellation was because I did not include my ECA report-I only uploded my PEBC letter. I simply called my husband and told him about it. He didn't say anything but deep down I knew he was quite sad and disappointed. He trusted me to handle my side of the application. I was angry with myself for not researching well and with CIC for not giving me a chance to get the document.
Lesson learnt, I requested for the document with an additional cost and then we started all over again. My CRS score came down to 470 because of age. I resubmitted everything except POF which i updated. Lest I forget, the instruction letter of the cancellation said I must have the documents ready before I enter the pool. Therefore, make sure you have all your documents ready before you enter the pool.
We then submitted on 2nd of August and got our acknowledgement that same day. Mep came after 22 days; I was in the hospital after delivery when hubby showed me the update. Babies bring so much joy!

CSEs, ADRs
I raised a CSE for addition of my newborn on September, and within two weeks, we got an update . We submitted on the 23rd of October(it took just three days to get baby's passport). I had seen a post here where someone had not included her half siblings in her history and how this might be termed misrepresentation. I then pestered my hubby to add his(I guess this delayed our application because we got two ADRs from it).
On 29th of November, our ADR changed to NA. We were very happy, after all, I had seen timelines showing that NA meant PPR was near. But CIC sent us ADrs. They sent us the first ADR which we answered- then changed to NA. And yet another ADR which we answered and still got changed to NA on the 7th of December. We were no longer sure of NA- ours was different. The different groups I was in were getting PPr, but we didn't. Those whose ADRs had changed to NA same time as mine were getting Ppr. I imagined it coming as a christmas gift...

PPR
I must say that it has been God all the way. He really showed us He wanted us to embark on this journey. Trust me, we would have stopped, lost interest, or never even started; but here we are, soon to be in Canada.
So when we waited for PPR to drop on the 7th December, we sent them a mail directly after two weeks , and they replied that our application was in queue for review...
We then decided to start a novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a very powerful prayer(Catholics here will understand) and then visit the blessed Sacrament(Our Lord is still in the business of working wonders). On the ninth day of the novena, we got a Ghost update(Crazy right!). Hubby saw it the next morning, the ghost staring at us...lol. Who knew seeing this ghost could bring so much laughter . We waited expectantly throughout that day, waiting for the mail to drop..we talked about it throughout that day. And so by 10:57pm, lying on the bed friday night, we saw the mail. Wow! We screamed...you know the rest. What great joy filled our hearts, so indescribable. This was another big project besides our wedding we had embarked on and it was successful.
We had done our best to submit the right documents but deep down we had this little thoughts and if's especially our proof of funds.
Monday morning 6th of January we submitted our Passports and all to Vfs and it got approved on the 15th and on the 22nd, we received our COPR and passports back. Hmmmm! This journey is not for the faint hearted.

My shout out to Bankyh(You are awesome...), Aramide, Ifeoma, Emeka, Debo, Dubem, Abychick and all July Aor guys. We shall all meet in Canada someday.

REMINDER
Keep your application simple.
Be positive, you will definitely get it.
Pray about it....prayer does so much that we could imagine.
