Topiipii:
I wanted to post this yesterday, but was busy reading this part from page 1 to the current one. I usually check my topics after work so there wasn't enough time to read through the entire thread yesterday.

My sincere thanks to the all those who posted their transcripts as well as the members who gave out tips on how answer questions. I prepared for this interview by reading the part 10 visa transcripts uploaded in the last part by justwise.

Visa approved yesterday morning, 7am appointment.

I left my workplace at 6.30am, because I had to drop my bag. I got to the embassy at 6.55am, promptly joined the 6.30/7am queue and went through the verification process. It finally got to my turn around 8.05am, I was interviewed by a young lady in window 2 and the whole process lasted for about 2 minutes.

V.O: Please pass me your passport and I-20

Me: Drops my passport with the I-20 and SEVIS fee confirmation paper inside the tray/bowl before realizing I was not asked for the SEVIS
confirmation, but decided to keep quiet.

V.O: Why do you want a Masters degree?

Me: (Paused for a bit) I want a masters degree because I am interested in carrying out research in control systems, my research areas
include robotics, UAVs, autonomous systems and machine learning.

V.O: So you're interested in machine learning?

Me: Yes

V.O: Where did you obtain your undergraduate degree?

Me: Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife

V.O: Why did you choose Colorado State University?

Me: I chose Colorado State because of two Professors, Professors Edwin Chong and Tony Maciejewski. Prof. Edwin Chong does research in
autonomous systems, network control stammers a bit here while trying to recall some of his research projects) and target tracking and
acquisition so I quickly move on to the next prof. Prof. Tony's research areas are in robotic control and robotic vision.

V.O: (She was typing while I spoke) picks white paper and passed it to me with my I-20 and SEVIS confirmation. Your visa will be ready in 3
working days.

Me: Thank you (and walks out).

Note: Those hustlers at the embassy are very convincing, it takes a lot not to fall for their tricks. My advice to anyone going for his/her interview is to ignore those people completely as has been advised several times here. If by chance you have to ask for directions, ask any policeman or security personnel you see around the area because those hustlers seem ready to capitalize on any opportunity they see.
Congrat on ur Visa approval. Will be heading to Colorado State University come Spring 2018. Please let connect to share info. I av pm u already. Please reply ur mail. Thanks

Did you check on your school website? I was preparing to travel from Abuja to UNN and something said to check the school website. I found that I was able to request my transcript on the website and paid online. It was very seemless and said me a ton of travelling stress.
Don't book your transcript online except you want it deliver late to your school. U either go in person or Look for someone that will help u run around among current student in the school. It take nothing less dan 3 to 5 days to processs and sent to your prefer institution. Talking from experience.

To be on the safe side, I will advise you use someone to push it if you don't want your application to be stagnant for months even years.
If the department you graduated from is organised and responds quickly to official matters, you can decide to apply and not contact anyone for help because ETX doesn't put any effort into getting your transcript ready.
If not, contact someone who will help you run around your department/faculty as well those responsible for processing transcript.
My advise is based on my experience with Uniben.
Transcript application and delivery took 4 months. I had to contact someone in the third month (when the whole thing became stagnant) before it got processed and delivered.
Sotall has said it all. Look for someone that will help u run around among current student in the small. It take nothing less dan 3 to 5 days to processs and sent to your prefer institution.

I won't have an idea of many schools because america is so big with lots of schools.... a school wiki can give u some directions

So my comments to you. This school wiki shows its a private school. For undegrad the cost of yearly attendance is roughly $59,684.......so now it boils down to your pocket. What u can afford and if you are given funding. I didnt check ranking or anything like that... but based on this tuition a public uni (instead of private ) might work out much cheaper and still give you the same value. You have to do that research

Chances of getting visa ...... nobody can predict that but the tuition does carry weight that at least it is an ok or good program if not how are others agreeing to pay that. Although is it actually good value for money . You have do that research ...if you apply and they give you funding then that perfect ....

Thanks so much Dear, u av been so helpful on this thread. God bless u.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Police Recruitment 2015 by ofavourmi(m): 5:41pm On Mar 23, 2016
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned that there would be no short-cut into the Nigeria Police Force in the recruitment of 10,000 personnel.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2015 approved the recruitment of 10,000 policemen at the National Security Summit in Abuja.
In a statement Wednesday, Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, told journalists that Mike Okiro, Chairman of the commission, gave the warning while unveiling a portal for the exercise in Abuja.
The statement said that the portal would be opened to the public on April 1 to herald the commencement of the exercise.
“The process leading to the recruitment of 10,000 Policemen as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Security Summit in Abuja last year, has commenced,” the statement said.
It said the unveiling of the portal was in actualisation of the presidential directive on the recruitment of the 10,000 Policemen.
The statement noted that the exercise was remarkable because there had not been recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force for more than five years.

It said that thousands of policemen who died in the course of service, dismissed or retired, had not been replaced since the last five years.
The statement stressed that the recruitment would strengthen and re-energise the force to tackle more security challenges facing the country.
It explained that the exercise could not begin last year because the funding was not captured in the 2015 budget.
The statement urged interested applicants to access the portal through the commission’s website: www.psc.gov.ng or that of the Nigeria Police Force: www.npf.gov.ng.
It said that no fee would be charged for the processing of the forms which would be filled on-line.
“We are not charging money. It is free, absolutely free,” it said.
The statement said that the exercise would be in three entry points of Constable, Cadet Inspector and Cadet ASP, while there would also be recruitment into the Specialist cadre.
It said that applicants for Police Constables are expected to possess five credits including Mathematics and English Language at Senior School Certificate Examination in not more than two sittings.
It said that for Cadet Inspectors, in addition to having the requirements of Police Constables, candidates would be expected to have an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Advanced Level (A level), National Certificate in Education (NCE) or their equivalents.
The statement said Candidates for Cadet ASP must possess a University degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND).

National Assembly to pass 2016 budget today
Fatai Ibrahim / 8 hours ago

National Assembly Complex
John Ameh and Sunday Aborisade, Abuja

After weeks of delay, both chambers of the National Assembly received a report on the 2016 budget on Tuesday from the Senate and the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Appropriation.

The report retained the corrected total budget figure of N6.07tn as presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari.

There were strong indications that the two chambers of the National Assembly would pass the 2016 budget today (Wednesday).

The federal lawmakers, who had earlier slated last week for the submission of the report, postponed it because of fresh errors they said were discovered in the fiscal document.

In the Senate, the Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Senator Danjuma Goje, presented the report of the budget on the floor of the upper chamber.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Education (Basic), Senator Aliyu Wamakko, confirmed to one of our correspondents that the budget would be considered and passed today (Wednesday).

He said the Senate might possibly hold two sessions on Wednesday to enable it to pass the fiscal document.

He said, “We have perfected necessary arrangements to ensure that the budget is considered and passed before we proceed on recess tomorrow (Wednesday).’’

The PUNCH learnt that the Senate would proceed on Easter Break on Wednesday as a result of the trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, which resumes at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Thursday.

In the House of Representatives, investigations by The PUNCH indicated that many lawmakers raised doubts as to whether the report contained padded provisions.

Members reportedly “grumbled” that there was no verifiable information on the several meetings on the budget held between the National Assembly’s joint committee and the officials of the executive, led by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.

“There were several meetings the officials held with the executive in their bid to clean up the errors in the budget.

“Those meetings did not provide details of the outcome; members still cannot vouch for this report, that it does not contain padded provisions in spite of the efforts made to clean up the budget”, a National Assembly official disclosed to The PUNCH.

It was gathered that the suspicion of padded provisions was the “real reason” the joint committee failed twice to produce the report of the budget before Tuesday.

The development confirmed an exclusive report by The PUNCH last week that fresh discrepancies were delaying the submission of the report.

Findings showed that in a bid to bring the matter under control, the various caucuses of the House held marathon meetings up to Monday night, where the members were said to have been briefed on the need to accept the budget so that government activities could move forward.

It was learnt that the meetings were rounded off by a meeting of the leadership of the House on Monday night and another meeting on Tuesday morning few hours to the commencement of sitting.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, presided over the leadership meeting, which also had in attendance the House Leader, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as other principal officers.

The Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Abdulrazak Namdas, claimed that there were no new discrepancies in the budget.

“There is no problem at all; the report has been laid,” he stated.

He admitted that a budget could not be “100 per cent perfect”, adding that the final report was the painstaking effort of the joint committee.

The House had planned to receive the report on Monday and pass the budget, but had to suspend the consideration in honour of a member, who died over the weekend.

The late member, Mr. Musa Onwana, represented Nasarawa State in the House.

Dogara, who presided over the session, only allowed the report to be laid due to “overriding national interest.”

He called that the House should adjourned till Wednesday (today) for the consideration and possible passing of the budget.

Members later observed a minute’s silence in honour of their late colleague and also prayed for the repose of his soul.
