Irony1:
How did they gove Newspapers and radio. When you were still listening to BBC in western region and Zik already had West African Pilot that was operating in the 40s. Even the revenue breakdown in the 50s showed Eastern region having the highest revenue earning followed by West and then North. Awo funded free education which was his way of challenging the surpassing of the west in education by the east as of 1955 and he imposed high taxes that was the foundation of the issues he had with the Coker Comission and later with Akintola. You say our ancestors were fleeing to Ibadan l, please show is the breakdown and the number of people fleeing to Ibadan and express it as a percentage of the the Eastern population. Try and lie with finesse, these things don't sell anymore social media has debunked all your lies. Awo built Cocoa house but at what cost to tax payers in the West? See times have changed all this Amala propaganda is becoming stale. Het a decent job and be useful to your life.
Epistle without substance.
Even till date,Wizkid or Davido is richer than any SEasterner dead or alive.

Irony1:
How? Take out Lagos and let us compare the GDP of the other SW states. Even in colonial times they were not the richest region.
Yoruba people were the ones that gave you tv,radio, newspapers etc in Nigeria and they had the highest number of billionaires then and now.
For being very hardworking,They built the first skyscraper in Africa in Ibadan.
Most of your ancestors were fleeing to Ibadan just as they are doing to the entire SW especially Lagos today.

During Nigeria's period of regionalism (roughly from the 1940s to the 1960s), the Western Region was generally considered the wealthiest, particularly under the leadership of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. This was due to a combination of factors, including strong economic activities, infrastructure development, and a focus on education.

Ebonyi is actually poor. But I have two questions.

1.
What percentage of poverty alleviation funds or programmes by the federal government gets to Ebonyi State?

2.
What is the Common Entrance Examination cut-off mark for Ebonyi State?

Do the comparisons if you still doubt the glaring tribalism and marginalisation that the East faces in Nigeria.
Govts of Nigeria have always marginalised every region except the North.
They have always been tilted 65% to the North and 35% to theSouth.
This is why the agbaya in the North get restless and start complaining whenever a Southerner becomes President and does a few things differently.
Politics › Re: Top 10 Poorest States In Nigeria by Ofemannnu: 9:18am On May 04, 2025
SW has been the richest region in Nigeria even without Lagos. It has been so since the inception of Nigeria.
We should take another look at regionalism, biko.

What did President Jonathan do except have a little bit of good economy in the course of his tenure and began to borrow money by the end of 2014 meaning that he has made Nigeria bankrupt.

If you want to kill a sector of the economy or put it in backward mode, just put a Northerner there.
They are chronically the most corrupt ever.
Put a core Northerner in a position and he will flood the place with his people that will eat the place to the floor.
I have always blindly supported them.
They have almost nothing to grow Nigeria except humongous corruption.
I pity Nigeria.

It will be an exponential growth.

VeeVeeMyLuv:
What of per capita of $800 down from $2200?

PBAT has made sure that today average Nigerians can no longer afford the basic needs of man like food, clothing, shelter! these are the basic necessities of life.
Per capita is tied to GDP too.
It was a fake and unsustainable per capita where Nigeria was borrowing money to pay workers and states were all going bankrupt.
They didn't have money to pay workers.
ASUU was on a long spree strike etc.

I am also feeling the pain including all Nigerians, except maybe, the politicians.
Things are getting better than when the subsidies were initially removed.
It Will get better and Nigeria's growth will be a real organic one.Just watch how the GDP will grow exponentially in a few years now.
God bless Nigeria and Nigerians.
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Economy In 18 Years - The Cable Index by Ofemannnu: 10:47pm On Apr 23, 2025
Cosmetic GDP that required Nigeria borrowing money to pay its workers as narrated by Okonjo Iweala in 2014 even with the humongous revenue Nigeria made from oil.
It means that it was a fake GDP.

Right now,all states and Nigeria as a whole can easily pay their workers and still have a lot left to build infrastructures.
This new GDP will be times 10 in a few years under Tinubu.
By 2030,Nigeria will be surpassing the 1 trillion dollar mark as the biggest economy in Africa and one of the top 10 in the world by 2031.

You are the one talking too much here and that makes you the coward you talked about.

Igbos are the ones making it abroad not yorubas. Stop lying the stats are there to prove me right.

Yorubads tower Igbos only in skull mining, ritual killings, oluwole (forgery) and politics of mago mago.

The whole world (not only Nigerians) know that Igbos are the ones leading in business, education, technology, Nollywood, development just name them.

Yorubas tower Igbos only in leeching Nigeria and companies dry.
lol
You are just waking up now?
Ok,name just only one multibillion dollar business Igbos have abroad and its link.
I will post 10 Yoruba businesses abroad and their links.
I am sure that you will flee like Ojuku now grin
