It's not all about dropping singles/album. It's about the quality. You know the story of Adele and her "Hello" single. The last time her album dropped was in 2011 but this her "Hello" single broke vivo record with 27 million view within its 24 hours of release. It now has over 165 million view within one week of its's release. So for me, I care more about quality not qauntity

Politics / Re: Buhari Violating Federal Character In Appointments – Ekweremadu by OgaEngr: 2:43pm On Oct 21, 2015
That's Buhari & Northern Nigeria for you. Yet, they stopped PRESSID, a scholarship based purely on merit because the northern graduates are not passing the aptitude test. They want Federal character implemented. How fair would it be that someone that scores 0 get a scholarship to study in the top 100 universities in the world while another guy that scores 80 isn't chosen.
One wonders if the top 100 schools approved by NUC would lower the standard for them because they are from Sokoto or Yobe, or because they graduated from XYZ university in Northern Nigeria! Bigots!

Who cares!
MIT ---- 68 hectares
Caltech ---50 hectares
Princeton Uni --- 202 hectares

These are world class universities ranked in the top ten in most of their programs. How many Nigerian universities are ranked in the top 1000? Largest ko, size ni

I find it disgusting when some folks criticise the tuition fees charged by the private universities in Nigeria. Have you asked yourself how much govt provide for the Federal and state owned universities? Who pays the salaries of their profs? Why do state owned schools go on strike? The nature of toilets in the hostel of state owned universities? etc.... Then compare it with the fees charged by the private uni. If you can't afford it, don't even bother applying; hustle your way into govt uni. Here in US, some private college expenses is over $60k per annum.

Igbo girls rocks! Some girls in some part of Nigeria procreate like rabbits. At 20, they will have about 4 kids. Eventually, none of the kids complete primary school. Breeding beggers and criminals. congrats! Live ur dream dear cos haters gonna hate. How many kids does Bill Gate have?

Politics / Re: An Urgent Plea From The Pressid 2015/2016 Scholars by OgaEngr: 4:09am On Oct 10, 2015
sunnyb0b0:

They want to introduce quota system to PRESSID.

The political atmosphere of the nation with regards to appointment into various key positions does not in any way reflect quota system. I wonder why quota/Federal character should be applied to pressid then. Pressid is for first class graduates not withstanding your state of origin or university. Once one graduated with first class s/he should be able to compete with any other person. This quota issh pisses me off. There are lots of other scholarship where quota 's been applied. Lets for once maintain a strict merit system; this engenders competition and thus brings out the best in us. If you start your program in any of the top 100 schools approved by NUC, you not gonna tell them to lower the standard for you because you are from Sokoto or Yobe, or because you graduated from XYZ university!

Hahaha, this remind me of the day I finished my primary school (FSLC exams) in the late 90s. One of my aunt asked me, "did you break you pen?". I answered, "No" and she was like school no be anything now. During her time one would break her pen after FSLC.

Good afternoon V.O.

One of my friends, a Ghanian and an MS student in one of the ivy league university has been in a serious financial challenge since the beginning of the year. The problem now is that she is placed on registration hold because she is yet to pay her Spring term tuition and there is no hope she would get the money before Fall term start this August. She is currently doing an intern and is very confused on what action to take in a month time when school resumes. Is it possible for her to be allowed to remain in US to work in order to raise the money or she must go back home?

Thanks and happy anniversary!

Whatever, the important thing is that many people are going through the suggestion and are at the same time getting some useful tips

Walspring:

But why are you disguising or using another account to ask question or look for solution for someone else since you have your own real account I don't think it is a a good habit or idea

It is possible but she would need to provide proof of economic hardship. Though she might not really need to file for economic hardship if her school can permit her to take the fall semester off to work.

However, the EAD is valid for 1 year, after which it would need to be renewed with proof of continued economic hardship.

Thanks for your input. She intends to apply for the AAUW scholarship while she work. Pls which body issues EAD?

Would it be better she applies for EAD under economic hardship? How possible is it for her to raise 17600 in 7 months?

Can she be allowed to work for one year?

$20k is quite an amount. Why did she go to such expensive school in the first place knowing she did not fully have the money?

No amount of savings over her internship period can have her save up to that amount. It is ridiculous. Maybe the $20k is for an entire year and not the spring semester only

Thanks for ur response man. Just confirm from her that she owes $17600. It's for Spring alone not for the session. She hoped she would get assistanship during the Spring term but that never happened. Her question is whether it will be possible for her to work this Fall to get some cash and join it with what she has now and then resume by Spring. Just forget about the amount, is it possible for her to remain in US through the Fall term working? Will the school approve that?

How much does she owe?

How well enough does her internship pay her?

$20k+. She is in an Ivy league and because her GPA hasn't been too good, no assistanship for her. I don't know how much she is paid. I will ask her

Hi gurus in the house, a friend already in the US need some advice. She is an MSc student but have had serious financial challenge since the beginning of the year. The problem now is that she is placed on registration hold because she is yet to pay for her Spring term tuition and there is no hope she would get the money before Fall term start this August. She is currently doing an intern and is very confused on what action to take in 2 months time. Is it possible for her to be allowed to remain in US and hustle for cash or she must go back home? Ur response will be highly appreciated. Anyone who has been in same shoe should pls share how s/he handle the situation.
