I worked as a receptionist or office assistant in a diagnostic center, after those years of quality experience I found out that the only way to make in medical diagnostics is having something different from other, schools offering the course of my choice in Nigeria, bio-medical engineering only one school which is unijos, radiotherapy, none and radiological technology otherwise called radiography 5schools and poorly equipped. With the current education activity in Nigeria do you think someone of my age would can get a bsc certificate fast and reliable. With the little knowledge I'm even try to open my own investment.

LagosismyHome:

If you finished since 2005 that is 13 years ago to just be going for first degree . It is possible but I would speculate a lot harder to convince a VO.

Some people are given even after 4 denial so it possible but you have to look at the whole package in totalilty. Finished 13 years ago so probably not very young. Then NO test scores and then 4 delays... at this point maybe it best not to put all your eggs in one basket . What about doing your first degree in Nigeria ?

Well thanks for the advice
Which of the international exam do you advice me to take?
My friend that introduced me to this forum advised me not to go for an American university again because the 4 times unsuccessful trail has already created an uproar on my identity... Which means it will be very difficult for me to get the visa..

What's do you guys think?

ME AND MY BROTHER'S VISA GOT APPROVED SAME DAY(3 WEEKS AGO)

Sorry its coming late. I want to thank everyone in this room for every piece of information u've provided...my brother and i, we got our visa approved same day( 3 weeks ago)…7:30am

MY TRANSCRIPT

VO:Good morning

ME: Morning ma

VO: pass me your passport

Me: Here it is(only passport)

VO: your i20 please

Me: OK ma( I passed it on)

VO: Where are u going?

Me: I am going to university of Texas A&m for my Master degree in biotechnology...

VO: can I see your admission letter?

Me: yeah( I passed it on)

VO: (glanced through it and returned it to me)..so how did u hear about this university... (Started typing)

Me:I actually did some research to find some reputable schools offering biotechnology, and from the list I got ,I streamlined my search on which of the schools that incorporated Artificial gene synthesis as part of their course work which is my major area of interest...dat how came about University of Texas A&m and some other which I applied to.

VO: how many schools did u apply and how many offered u admission...

Me: I applied to 4 university, all gave me admission except MIT( Massachusetts institute of Technology)... (Vo nodding her head)

VO: So why have u decided to attend this university?

Me:a couples of reasons though.first I was informed that prof.Walter Gilbert, professor Emeritus of harverd university will be conducting a research on molecular gene cloning. I have indicated interest to join his research team and he was pleased with it...again I was considering change in Environment. My doctor had warned me against staying in cold environment... And of all the three schools, university of Texas A&m in Texas has the warmest temperature unlike Washington and Alaska...( vo nodding her head)

VOsadtypically then raised his head)...when did u graduate from university?

ME:I graduated 2016

VO:And what have u been doing since then?

ME:After my Nysc I worked a few months in my father's hospital before I got a job placement at Bleep company as biochemical analyst.

VO: Are u still on ur current job?

ME: yes ma

VO: what will this degree do for u?

ME:As a biochemical analyst, degree in biotechnology with concentration in artificial gene synthesis will be of help to me alot... Actually the most challenge I get at work comes from this area...because artificial gene synthesis is a technique that saves time, energy and cost to manipulate and multiply a single gene...as it is applied to PCR...
VO:What's PCR?

ME:polymerase Chain reaction( I knew she did not understand anything)

VO: How do u intend to take care of the cost of study?

ME:My Dad will be sponsoring my studies...

VO:What does he do?

ME: He is a Medical Doctor..(vo typing seriously on the system...after a while)
VO: your visa has been approved... (Hands me the white paper)... Pick up your passport in 3 days...

MEsadwith all joy)Thanks ma
VO: Welcome to united States

That day was all joy for me... I practiced so seriously with determination to build my confidence... The true secret is your confidence nothing more...your confidence tells weather u are lying or not ...just be bold and respond to every question..
Don't forget to smile its also a big secret to building your confidence..
Thanks everybody once again...
Was this your first time?

Well thanks for the advice
Which of the international exam do you advice me to take?
femi312:
Just forget the admision and apply to a proper University. It will be a herculean task to convince a VO with your age. Additionally, a 2 year diploma will do nothing exceptional for you in Nigeria. That story won't cut it.

Every dick and harry will pick a Nigerian 4year degree graduate over an American 2years community college degree. You need to actually plan properly. To be honest with you, you seem like an immigrant, if I can see that, a VO can too, more or less a trained one.
GboyegaD:

The challenge as I said is convincing the VO you are genuine and a good way is to show you are well equipped for the program. Good to know the program isn't well offered in Nigeria thus, your need to pursue it abroad however, what is the return on your investment with an AS? The family business you want to come improve, is it a biomedical venture?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Ogakings: 11:14am On Sep 14, 2018
GboyegaD:

If you finished high school since 2005, there is a very high probability you are older than 23 at this time. Thus, there is a need to convince the VO of your genuine interest in seeking education and not relocating abroad. That said, I would suggest you change your program to a 4year undergraduate program, write and ace both SAT and ACT, and then apply into a Honors Program where you can get a very good funding before you re-apply.

@gboyegaD I'm 31, the course I choose has only one university that under takes it here in Nigeria and it's poorly managed and equipped.. If I travel and Acquires the knowledge and get back to Nigeria don't you know I'm one of a kind? Secondly, why will I use fake documents when I know the the implications.
Thirdly, won't I be denied if I change my school or programme because the system will show my log making the VO think I'm desperate
Fouthly, do you think TOLFEL will be more preferably?
Do you think my age is an obstruction...

I wanted that 2year course because I want to get back to Nigeria and engage in my family business using that acquired knoweldge to create a good venture for my family ...
If your advice is good... I will go for mid-western State University, the same course bio-medical and bio-medical engineering ...

I just don't know what else to do, I deferred the admission to fall 2019, but if from my previous comment you can point out other errors it will be of great help

Thanks

I feel your pain....if u can remember you last two interview communication,u can upload it here let ppl help you. Also did u bring any fake documents?
You

No fake documents... Jezz, can't do that.
Well the first interview, the VO asked
VO: what's your purpose of travelling?
Me: for studies
VO: how do you got to know about the school?
Me: through my elder brothers friend
VO: who's your brother
Me: he's my sponsor called his name with some other explanation
Vo: when did he travel to America
Me: he's a banker I goes often for business
VO: know I mean Mr uche(uche is my uncle who stays and work in America, I used his name in my ds 160 because I was asked if I had any relative staying their)
Me: I became dumbfounded because I list expected the question of family members, and I started explaining my relation with uche the VO kept on asking question
Vo: which school did he study at
Vo: how long has he been in America
Vo: what dose he do
Vo: wow... It's a pity you don't know you brother too well that's bad... Then the blue papers and the try again grammar
Me: almost about to cry with a straight face working out disappointed .. ..

The second interview.. My DS160 has expired so I didn't get to meet with the VO, the lady checking in turned me back and rescheduled
Then the next appointment I missed it because my SOA did not arrive earlier.

The 4th one was at Lagos with the 1million people attending, after checking in...
VO: can I have your passport?
Me: yes of course, morning to you, nice outfit..
VO: thanks dear
Vo: what's your purpose of traveling
Me: for studies
Vo: what's the name of the school
Me: McLennan community college
Vo: how did you get to know about
Me: it's through online search and my uncle suggested it
VO: why did you chose the school
Me: because they recorded a great remarks on bio medical course among other schools in Texas with great reception and audience from the student coordinator(amanda straten) with a good atmosphere and it's location located towards the northern river of something something like that with noteable alumni like bla..bla bla..
Vo: why did you choose bio-medical course..
Me: it effect in Morden medicine which has not been incoroprated in Nigeria health sector bla bla bla....
Vo: what courses will you be undertaking
Me: us English 101..maths, 112..maths 102 history.. 101 etc
VO: did take any international exam?
Me: no
Did you apply to other schools and which one
Me: yes.. I started naming the schools...
VO... With the blue paper and their normal try again later grammar...
Me: sorry if I may ask, why the denial?
VO: sorry it's confidential
Me: did I say anything improper?
Vo: No,its confidential and protocol!
Me: thanks and have a great day...
Vo: smiled.. You are welcome

This has been my experience..

Ubah1:

Well, reason for your refusal wasn't a surprise. First, your choice of school... the school is a redflag. It will be hard to get visa with that school.
Second, you are going for a program that has an online option. It will be very hard to convince the V.O that you are not trying to immigrate since you can do the same course online and save cost. So look for better school and avoid courses with online option.

Please, is this school equally redflagged McLennan community college tx, and the course bio-engineering and bio-medical(AS). For the while I went for the interview they just ask me about my family and the school alone, in tact more of the family. Those international examination is it compulsory. Must I get my waec evaluated, my waec was 2005 ...what do you think

Hello, Good morning,
Hope we all are good.
I'm new here and I was introduced by a friend current at Cleveland uni, she said the here made her scale through at the visa interview.

Anyways, let me share my story.
Since 2016, I have been trying to travel to the states through a student visa(F1) but they kept on denying and rejecting me till this moment. In fact the last time I went the VO asked me questions upon answering everything she just said "I apologize for we are not able to issue you the visa at this time please try again and refer your questions to this" she handed me the normal blue coloured paper. I paused and asked her if she can please give me a stronger reason why I was rejected or denied, she said she can't say it's confidential and it's a protocol... I just smiled and said thank you and left... However that last time was the 4th trial and this admission has been given to me since 2016 ....i don't know how to detail my myself about this travel issue... I don't know if I was marked or something else... I have tried Lagos and Abuja embassy, it was fruitless...

Please can someone help me!!!
