EducationRe: How To Prepare For UTME Within Three Weeks by Ogbueme(m): 12:24pm On Mar 01, 2019
These steps, for me, are unrealistic. Like they say, "When you fail to plan, you plan to fail." Three weeks isn't enough time for anyone to prepare for JAMB. If you did it in 2 weeks or so, doesn't mean it can be done by everybody. Think of those who take much longer to fit in. So, when you're making a claim. do it on an average rate.

So, I'll encourage anyone who wants to write JAMB to begin practising as soon as they are in the final year of secondary school.
EducationRe: Five Good Reasons Why Post Utme Should Not Be Scrapped by Ogbueme(m): 12:19pm On Mar 01, 2019
I would rather see JAMB removed than Post UME. Besides students don't need to write two exams just to get into university. The one offered by the universities is enough. Universities should be left to decide, with their own exams and requirements, who they admit.
Education6 Business Ideas to Make Money in University by Ogbueme(op):
The cost of university education in Nigeria is on a steady increase. This makes going to university a luxury, like something only the rich can afford. But education is a right which should be accessed by both the rich and the poor.

Now, let's take a look at how much it costs to complete a four-year course in a government-owned university. On an average, it will cost you 362,000 naira a year. Multiply that by four years or five, and you'll see it's a staggering amount. In a private university, the figure is around 2 million naira a year. Some schools cost more, and how much you will be required to pay is only a matter of management decision. For the government-owned ones, fees are subsidised but, like all things monetary, inflation comes around to raise the fees a notch higher.

So, you have lecturers going on strike every now and again to demand for more funding; tuition fees going up year by year and students struggling to meet up with tuition fees and other payments. All of this can lead you to depression, lack of focus and involvement in illegal and immoral activities. However, there are things you can do to stay focused on your academics, so you can achieve your educational goal. I'm talking about financial independence in university. So, if you're looking for ideas, here are six of them.

Home Tutoring
Ever heard of Tuteria, Proteach, Prep Class and City Tutors? If you haven't, then you've been missing a good opportunity to make extra cash as pocket money isn't always enough. Now, these are online sites that connect parents to teachers. Parents are always seeking for avenues to provide their children extra opportunities to excel in school and life. And home tutoring is just one of such opportunities. You can take advantage of this demand by registering on any of the sites that has presence in the city where your school is located.

The subjects you can teach are not limited to classroom subjects. There are subjects like music, catering, dancing, etc. Registering with a site comes in easy steps, where you are required to fill the subject or subjects you are able to teach, what makes you qualified to teach them, if you have any experience, if you have any video or lesson to upload. You also get the chance to set your price and pick the days you are available. Voila, your submission will be on its way. Once your submission is approved, you'll start getting requests from parents.

You can get paid as much as 40,000 naira a month, depending on your experience and the job you are required to do. Apart from the monetary compensation, this opportunity will allow you to deepen knowledge of your course.

Self-Employed: Campus Business
A university campus is a functional community. It is made up of a transport network, market, food production and distribution and other businesses that oil the university economy. As money only comes to those who work, you have to find a sector of the university economy where you can use your skill to make money. Below are nine low budget businesses you can run on campus:

1. phone and computer repairs
2. pastry business
3. barbecue (suya) business
4. photography and video editing
5. fast food (noodles) restaurant
6. typesetting
7. interior designing and event planning
8. car wash business
9. web design and graphics

You can do any of these with your spare time or on the weekends, so they don't conflict with study time.
