Nnenna told them that she was enjoying the flight. The head pilot asked if she had ever been to Mauritius .Just as she was about to reply him,she felt a hand on her waist.
"Turn around "she heard a familiar voice say ,she turned to see Nnamdi on bended knees.

He brought out a ring with most exquisite rock she had ever seen and said ,"will you take off with me to unending destinations?". "Make me happy forever babe! And she said yes !!over and over again.
The pilots laughed and clapped at a job well done.

She showed Nnamdi the note and he said maybe it was a treat for ist class passengers and encouraged her to go. "If you don't come out in 2 minutes ,I will come and get you out of there myself,he said to her.

She was ushered inside the cockpit by a beautiful air hostess. Both pilots were white, they introduced themselves to her and asked if she was enjoying the flight.

Nnamdi ordered fish sauce with vegetable sautéed rice.
He offered her a spoon which she resisted but he persisted. She finally obliged him and had a taste of his meal.He was happy.
Next ,he offered her a spoon of his chocolate pudding.

It tasted nice but she could swear she was licking bubble wrap." What's this concoction I am eating?", she said to herself.
Her face gave away her emotions as she quickly spat the bubble wrap into her plate.

She opened up the wrap and saw a carefully folded sheet of paper which read' meet me at the cockpit',from your pilot.

"Our journey as friends started on an aircraft, you have been a friend ,sister, confidant, prayer and gist partner, my encourager and soulmate",he said to her.
He told her that he had given up on love many years ago but she had now given him a reason wake up each day.

He said he wanted to wake up each day with her by his side, to boldly face life's challenges with her. He wanted to grow old and still feel lost in love while staring into her 80yr old eyes.

The fasting seat belt sign was now switched off as the plane had reached a cruising altitude. The air hostess brought their menu.

Checking in and passing through security was a little stressful. They were both glad that the waiting time for boarding the aircraft wasn't too long. Nnenna was longing for a well deserved sleep.

This was her first time flying ist class, she was so excited, though tired . They were offered champagne before take off ,Nnamdi brought out a small bowl from his bag tucked under his seat.It was strawberries. "How did he manage to sneak this on board without me knowing" ,she wondered. He fed her one strawberry when the pilot started accelerating for take off.

He held her hands tightly knowing how much she was scared of take offs. The lights were off,the only noise that was audible was dat of the engines and a crying baby.

Her head was resting on his shoulder when he whispered "I luv u ,Nnenna."

It was the delivery man with her parcel. It looked like a Christmas card.Nnenna opened it and indeed it was a card, she opened it to read the content of the card and a white sheet of paper fell to the ground.

She quickly picked it up and read it. She realised it was a flight reservation bearing her name (ist class ticket) to Mauritius. She was not so certain who the gift was from. Just as she was about to call her sweet heart to ask him ,his call came in. "Did you get the parcel peaches?"he asked.
"Yes I did", she said. "What is going on?",she asked . "pack your personal belongings, I am coming over to pick you so that we can start heading to the airport,he replied.

'Hello ma',said the caller, I want to Confirm that you are currently at your address, I have a package for you. .
'Okay I am currently at home but hurry up because I will soon be leaving "was her reply. It wasn't up to 5 minutes the call ended that she heard a knock on her door.

It was a cold Christmas eve evening. They both decided to spend Christmas in Abuja together then new year with their respective families. Nnenna was at home preparing for the earlier planned Christmas eve dinner date (it was their first Christmas together). Suddenly, her phone rang.

The fractures healed well ,in about 2 months ,the Plaster of Paris was removed and he was in perfect shape
These past few months made Nnenna understand him better and vice versa. He knew wen she wanted her space and wen to be all over her. They both knew each others favourite shows . She was able to understand his personality as well .He loved her cooking and no matter how stressful the week was ,date night was never compromised.

Nnenna spent a few days in the hospital with him, during that period koby came to visit with Kaylisha .She apologised for her behaviour and said she was only trying to protect Nnamdi from random gold diggers, koby didn't tell her earlier that Nnamdi was seeing anyone.
Literature / Re: The Perfect Flight. (A Romantic Story) by Ogodlovely1(f): 12:31am On Aug 04, 2016
He said that it was okay and that he was partly to be blamed. The pain medication given earlier was beginning to wear off as she could see Nnamdi
Wear a frown and he began to speak slowly.

He told her he was sorry for not telling her that koby(his best friend) and his girlfriend kaylisha ,were coming to Nigeria to meet koby's parents.

Nnamdi never liked Kaylisha because he felt that she was too forward and in his opinion ,uncultured but who was he to tell his friend who not to get married to . That was why he didn't bother keeping the date of their arrival in his memory.

He said that he was so sure Koby was either sleeping or engrossed in a brain tasking activity when Nnenna came to the house.

Nnenna felt so bad for not trusting him a little but she acted like any lady with a hot boyfriend would or so she thought.

She sat beside him and prayed for him. She rested her head on his bed and dozed off as well. After some hours, she heard a familiar voice call her peaches. Only one person called her by that name. She sprang up ,only to see Nnamdi looking at her.'I am sorry ,it's my fault 'she said.

She was glad that he was alive. Thankfully ,the results of the emergency brain scan done had ruled out any serious brain damage. The brain concussion was a mild one and hopefully he would be as good as new ,the Dr said .

He was asleep when Nnenna came into his room.
All she wanted to do was hug Nnamdi and tell him how sorry she was for not giving him a listening ear . She didn't care at that point who the strange lady was. She loved him regardless of her being in his life.

At that point, her eyes were flooded with tears. She wondered if the quarell was worth it. "What have I done! ",she kept screaming aloud. "GOD save him, don't take him away from me Lord",she said.

She managed to get to the hospital in one piece. The managing doctor said he had a brain concussion, some broken ribs and a broken upper limb.Colle's fracture was the term he used.

He rushed off to his bike and started chasing her cab.His helmet was loosely fitted on his head.He tried calling her phone with one hand but Nnenna refused to pick up . Just as he was trying to put the phone in his pocket,he missed the stop traffic sign and a car from the opposite side of the road hit his bike.

Meanwhile Nnenna got home, still sulking, though she wondered why he hadn't reached her house.Almost immediately, she received a call from an unknown number.

The caller told her that dat Nnamdi was in the National hospital. His last dialled number was hers.

Nnenna had seen Nnamdi's family pictures. He had one sister and one brother. "What right did this stranger have to question me?",she thought in her heart. Nevertheless, she introduced herself as Nnamdi's girl friend. She said 'really! in a rude manner, 'well ,he is not around'.

While she spoke, Nnenna tried to figure out the lady's accent. It sounded Jamaican American. She noticed earlier that Nnamdi's car was parked in front of his flat , though she didn't see his power bike at the usual spot.

Nnenna definitely didn't have all the time in world to trade words with this uncultured lady so she turned around to leave. While she was bargaining with a cab in front of the gate , she saw Nnamdi coming in,their eyes met but she angrily moved her glance away from him.He hurriedly came down ,removed his helmet and came to meet her but she started walking away. All she said was,"I have seen your American girl friend". Thankfully the cab driver was still around so she quickly got in and told the driver to take her home.Nnamdi must have turned red, he kept yelling, "you're getting it all wrong!

The long awaited day had finally reached. The high school class reunion was planned several months ago in Lagos. Nnenna was excited about the trip because it was an opportunity to meet some dear friends. She carefully packed her bags that Thursday morning because she was supposed to go to the airport from work .Her flight to lagos from Abuja was sceheduled for 3pm and she had already begged her colleague to stand in for her when she left.Every thing was sorted out ,or so she thought.
Work was unusually hectic that day so Nnenna had to leave later than planned. She was angry and worried .All sorts of emotions were at work ,by the time she got to the check in counter, she was told that she was already late.Nnenna must have sighed a million times, the next flight was almost fully booked. The man at the counter said in a rude tone,'u better go and pay the extra fee and join the next flight na only one economy and 2 business class seats wey remain oh' .
She tried to get herself together," I can't miss this flight ,I can't miss this flight she kept saying to herself". By the time she got to the counter to pay, she heard someone shouting '"it's the economy seat that I want. I need to be on this flight" . Nnenna became more worried,' don't tell me someone wants to take this remaining seat'she murmured to herself.
While the staff of the airline was working on the guy's request ,she summoned courage to ask the guy to leave the economy seat for her. "Please sir" she said, I have to be in lagos tonite and he replied "me too!"and faced foward. "That was rude", she thought. She decided to try one more time. "Please sir, in the meekest voice ever, Can I take d economy seat you want to pay for?. I need to be in lagos tonight and am on a strict budget ,it's only business class tickets that are available". He looked at Nnenna and without saying a word ,he turned and told the guy working on his ticket to upgrade his and the lady behind him(Nnenna) to businesses class..
At that point ,she didn't know whether to reject the offer or just say a big thank you.
When the staff said, "no economy ticket again oh",she quickly said "thank you sir, I appreciate". Although she said to herself, 'what's he feeling like sef' .
He gave the cashier his gold credit card n viola !her seat was paid for. She was not happy even though she was extremely grateful. Nnenna was the sort of lady that liked taking care of her expenses.
She eventually got to her seat when her flight was announced. Good samaritan was already seated. "Hmm na wah oh! did he fly here" ,she wondered to herself. He got up wen he saw her and asked if she wanted the window seat and she answered ,"Never mind ,I don't mind the aisle seat" .She looked at him from the corner of her eyes.
He looked like a half cast ,his hair was well cut but his beards were curly. He had this milk chocolatey colour with pink lips.he had to be at least 6 feet 3. He was holding a novel but she could see his well manicured nails n rolex watch. She took a quick look at his flat abds .."hmmmm "she said. God help me survive this hotness.
He has got to be married she thought.
She didn't see a ring on his finger but every one knows that some married men do not wear their wedding ring.
She must have been looking lost when he said my name is Nnamdi ,what's yours? She told him her name .He had an accent. It seemed like he was trying to make his American accent more Nigerian. He had this confidence she quietly admired.
They both started from small talk to naija gist, to current affairs. He seemed to know everything.
There was never a dull moment ,Nnenna noticed that at both take off and landing ,he bowed his head in prayer. The plane finally landed and was now taxing to the gate.
There was silence.she enjoyed his company, at first he sounded rude but u actually did enjoy the flight. Nnenna thought to urself. Would it be too foward to ask for his number. After all he helped make this flight possible. Nooo she said ,he may be married. Besides, he is the guy,let him ask first ,just as she was about to say it was nice meeting you,He said" Can I have your number Nnenna?. You said 'sure. That's if your wife wouldn't be angry'. He smiled and said ,'I am single ,don't worry. Do you need a lift?,my friend is coming to pick me'.thanks she said .She took a cab to the Oriental hotel, when she got there, she met some of her friends in the lobby. She had earlier on planned to share a room with her best friend Lelia.
The excitement from seeing her old friends was palpable, then suddenly, she heard her fone ring.
It was Nnamdi. Her heart raced abit. She moved to the bathroom to pick the call because the noise from friends in the room chatting and laughing was a lot.she told him that she was fine and dat she was trying to settle in .Nnenna equally asked about his family and he wished her a good night.
She woke up tired on Friday morning ,the late night gist had taken a toll on her .The ladies planned a visit to the spa after breakfast .

While she was trying to brush her weave in d bathroom, Lelia brought her phone which was ringing to her.
She was silently hoping that it would be Nnamdi. Unfortunately it was her colleague who called to discuss work stuff with her. After breakfast with the girls, while Nnenna was walking down to the spa ,she felt a tap on her back . She turned around to see Nnamdi standing before her. He was wearing a white fitted Ralph Lauren shirt on a pair of navy blue corduroy trousers . He had a pair of glasses on and a black pair of casual leather shoes.he had this mischievous smile on his face.'What are you doing here?' Nnenna asked.

"I have a meeting with a client ,waiting for him to arrive.chose this hotel because I was hoping to see you again",he replied. At that point ,he was looking straight into her eyes. She had never felt this uncomfortable before. Why does he have so much power over me, she thought to herself. Can we go for dinner ? He asked. She told him that she had plans for the day but that she could spare Saturday night.

Their chats from then on became very frequent, it was like she had known him for a long time. He had a really good sense of humour. Nnenna was counting down to Saturday evening.

The reunion was awesome ,though thoughts of Nnamdi flooded her mind . The choice of what to wear was even more painstaking. She decided she would look simple but stunning. Nothing flashy.

At exactly 5pm ,Nnenna'so room was filled with her former classmates. She was dressed and cleaning her shoes, when she heard a knock on the door.Abimbola ,her friend was closest to the door so she opened it.
She spent 30 secs at the door and came in to tell Nnenna that she had a visitor .She quickly took her purse and left the room in a shy manner.

He took her to his car and opened the door for her to enter. It was impeccably clean and had a nice fragrance. Soft rock music was playing in the background, they both chatted till they got to their destination.
He walked with ĺher to the door of the restaurant, they walked across the the room which had transparent glass windows. She could see a yacht from inside. They left the room from one of the exit doors and he led her
into the yacht.
Dinner was great ,pure "naija" cuisine and the jollof rice and chicken had the typical mama put spec . Desert was Italian icecream served with red velvet cake. There were so many drink options but they settled for Apple cider and water.
They talked about themselves. He graduated with a first class from University of Pensylvannia and got an Mph from John Hopkins (with distinction). He returned early last year after completing his Mba at Havard university. He was able to get the deal of a life time dat necessitated his return to Nigeria . Being the sole distributor of a very good antibiotic brand in West Africa was the dependence he craved for from his family.

Both parents were pharmacists as well ,dad met and married his American sweet heart much to the dismay of his parents initially. They returned after 8 years and went into manufacturing.Their drug products had now become a household name. She told him about her self as well. He was easy to talk to. He listened to every word and just as Nnenna was telling him about her job,her phone rang.
It was Philip her ex boyfriend." Bad timing!"She said to herself. Nnenna had already decided that when she returned, she would end the relationship completely. Philip was so arrogant and childish. She however picked the call and answered his questions as usual with a straight face.
The call ended and she said "sorry, it was a friend". He nodded his head in acceptance. He asked if she wanted to watch a movie in the lower deck of the yacht but she declined. She was already tired and wanted to retire for the day.

The journey back home was a bit quiet ,she must have dozed off a bit because all she could remember was him calling her name and tapping her with his cold soft hands. She was startled but happy to be awoken by his soft touch. He escorted her to the door of her hotel room, hugged and told her goodnight.
Lelia her room mate was already asleep when she came in. She slept off once she laid on the bed.

Nnenna woke up the next morning feeling happy, she decided that she would spend quality time with the girls. The reunion was awesome ,lots of places to visit that Sunday .Unfortunately she was unable to meet up with Nnamdi as there was no time and had to retire early in order to pack since she had a 7 am flight back to Abuja.

Nnamdi had just bought his first house in Nigeria two weeks before he came to lagos. It was a 3 bedroom service flat in Maitama. It had an Olympic sized pool,a gym and a tennis court available to him and other flat owners.
It was 4am on Monday .Just after saying her morning prayers,Nnenna received a call from "yours truly'..Nnamdi.His voice was combination of husky and soft.He sounded like someone who was struggling to stay awake. His voice melted her heart. He called to make sure she wasn't still sleeping so that she would not miss her flight.
He told her that he was coming over in the next 20minutes to take her and any of her friends to the airport. He still had some meetings in Lagos that would keep him around till Friday.

Other abuja ladies had later flights to catch so it seemed like it was going to be just the two of you going to the airport. He put her bags in the trunk of his dad's Gwagon and opened the door for her to enter.

The journey to the airport seemed so short ,it seemed like they never lacked what to gist about. As soon as they were about 5 minutes from the airport, there was silence In the car, Nnenna felt this heaviness in her heart that was strange to her. She was going to have to say goodbye in a matter of some minutes. She wondered what was running through his mind. "Is he going to miss me at all" ? She asked herself. "Was this weekend just fun to him? " .His voice broke the silence. He spoke in a soft manner'I will see you as soon as I get to Abuja'. She nodded her head in acceptance. At this time he packed the car, saw her off to the departure check in counter, assisted with the weighing of the bag and made sure that she was sorted out and given a boarding pass. She was running late already so they didn't have the luxury of gisting further. He gave her the tightest hug ever and whispered 'I miss you already' in her ears.

The flight was a smooth one, days flew by so fast maybe because Nnenna Kept herself busy with work.
The calls and messages became so frequent from Nnamdi. He came back on Saturday instead cos of some work issues.
Nnamdi n Nnenna swiftly changed to baby and sweetheart, occasionally he would call you peaches.
They both hung out at the slightest opportunity they got. He had a tight schedule as well as he was trying to set up a new pharmacy .He gave her his spare key so that she could have access to the house ,gym and other ammenities. He just wanted her to have her to have full access to his world.

One Friday evening,3 beautiful months into their blissful relationship,Nnenna closed rather early from work. She went to use the gym at Nnamdi's house. She tried opening the door with her keys however it proved difficult. She knew Nnamdi was still at work ,at least she thought so. She went ahead to knock on the door and
a beautiful ,cocacola shaped lady opened the door from inside. Nnenna looked at her with astonishment. "Baby didn't tell me he had a visitor" she said to herself, who's she ,she wondered. Just as Nnenna was about to ask who she was,the strange lady asked' who are you? and who are you looking for?

Just as Nnenna was about to ask who she was,the strange lady asked' who are you? n who are you looking for?
