CUMIN:He was born into wealth. His father's company has been rendering services to Chevron for over thirty years. He inherited and equally built his own company. While Buhari keep borrowing to fund railway to Niger Republic and Navy base in Kano, a king of the second largest oil producing ethnic group is funding a road project awarded by federal government through NDDC that was abandoned because it is not a Fulani territory. This road will connect warri riverine communities to Lagos. In one hour thirty minutes , you get to Lagos from Warri north. 6 Likes |

gregyboy:My brother, I am from Ugborodo. We migrated from Ugbo in Ondo state. You will recall that Ugborodo people wanted to install Olaja Orori Benson Omadeli as King of Ugborodo recently. The reason is because Ugborodo people never accepted Ginuwa as their king from beginning and the sentiment is still there. Because we are speaking the same language, we try to cover it any time the issue arise. You can't tell me who I am. I should be the one to tell you who I am. The Olu cannot rule in Isolation. OVB123:The edict or proposed edict as we call it here was horridly gazetted by ON Rewane and few others without consulting Itsekiri people because they have a particular person in mind that they want to make Olu of Warri. They used it to narrow the search to the particular person they had in mind and arrogated so much powers to he Rewane who was the then Ologbosere. We have reviewed the document and discovered that it is self serving and not in the interest of Itsekiri people. We have trashed the edict and that is final. Section 4 of the edict is the singular reason we trashed the edict. It is very insultive to our parent tribe. We are speaking a Yoruboid language and the said Ginuwa is from the lineage of Oramiyan. Ginuwa himself spoke Yoruboid language which shows that he is Yoruba. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Efewestern:We don't want the anti Yoruba rule, it is a ploy by the Binis to separate us from our brothers. Since they use mid west to separate us from the West, Binis have been trying to annex our land in Edo State. We don't understand Bini language neigther does Bini understand our language. If you cast a news in Yoruba language in Itsekiri area, every body will understand what the news caster is saying . Likewise if the news is read in Itsekiri. They connive with some self centered Itsekiri leaders to produce the vexecious edict. Omadino people are from Ode in Ogun state while Ugborodo people are from Ugbo in Ondo state. How will you convince Omadinor people that a child born by their sister from Ogun state is not qualified to sit on the throne in a kingdom where they are major stake holders? How do you also convince Ugborodo people who are the highest oil producers in Delta State that their sister from Ondo state cannot give birth to a king to rule over their land? In fact the edict is very annoying to our people. No body want to hear it. The people have trashed the edict. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Culture / Itsekiris Finally Discard 1979 Edict Insist That They Are Yorubas Not Bini by Ogungbemi01: 11:53am On Apr 02, 2021 |
The controversy surrounding the Itsekiri kingship tussle has been finally put to rest as 99.5% of Itsekiris insist that the controversial edict which disqualified a prince whose mother is not from Edo origin does not emanate from the people and should be totally discarded. They insist that they are Yoruba speaking people in Delta State who have no relationship with Bini people. They wondered why an edict should be made to exclude the parent tribe that gave birth to Itsekiri. All Itsekiri communities migrated from Yoruba. It is therefore against our interest to disqualify prince Shola on the basis of an edict that was made for selfish interest to narrow the search for an Oluto a particular person they had in mind. What Itsekiris have demostrated is that the people are bigger than the controversial edict. Prince Tsola Emiko whose mother is Yoruba has been chosen as Omoba elect. Congratulations. 11 Likes |

Politics / Okowa: A Governor Without Legacy by Ogungbemi01: 9:50am On Sep 06, 2018 |
Legacy as defined by the Oxford English dictionary is the money or property that is given to you by some body when they die or in the form of inheritance. A situation that exist now because of actions taken in the past. It is important to understand the term legacy before delving into the debate on the interview of the former governor by Channels Television anchored by Maukpe Ogun. As a medical doctor, His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is very passionate about life. This account for his various free health care programmes that impacted greatly into the lives of Deltans. His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan could not have listed all his people oriented programmes within the time frame allocated to the programme. Like every other human, everybody has a project that is dear to him or her. For Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the free maternal care and free medical care for children within the age bracket of 0-5 is very dear to him. Not just Uduaghan alone but deltans in general who benefited immensely from the programme. If there is any programme of government that has touched the lives of all deltans positively, it is the free maternal health care and that of children within the age bracket of 0-5. There is no home or family that didn’t benefit from the programme in the state. Uduaghan is right by mentioning the free health care as his star programme. If you ask the average Okada or keke rider what he benefited from Uduaghan’s government, he will mention free health care for pregnant women and children first and Uduaghan bus before other programmes of the administration. It is disheartening to note that Okowa sold Delta Line and all Uduaghan buses to himself using God is Good as front while Deltans lament about the sudden hike in transport fare caused by the sales of Delta line to Okowa through God is Good motors. Deltans should be aware that the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) had offered to buy Delta Line at a cost far higher than the amount Okowa sold it to himself through God is Good in order to protect workers who are working there but the governor sold it at a lesser amount to himself (God is Good) and sacked all workers in the transport agency. He eventually moved those buses to Benin thereby depriving deltans of the benefits of those buses. From the above definition, the transport scheme is one of the legacies that Uduaghan’s administration left behind for the benefit of future generation. However, this legacy has been destroyed by the Pharoah of Owa-alero. It is very ridiculous to note that the media team of a governor who has no legacy to leave behind is the one criticizing a man whose legacy is what is sustaining the present government. The new government house that the Pharoah of Owa is enjoying today is a legacy of Uduaghan’s administration. Deltans are lucky that the foundation of Asaba stadium was built by previous administration otherwise it would have collapse on top of international observers. The only water tank whose foundation was laid by Okowa collapse while the athletic competition was going on in spite of the whopping 4Billion naira sank into the jamboree that earn the SSG Ovie Agas a dirty slap by Okowa’s younger brother. Everything done by Okowa’s government is fake. They are done with the intent to steal and destroy. From a fake slogan of prosperity for all deltans to ego aria slogan and the recent slogan of road master. How can a government claim to be developing the environment without developing the people living in the environment? If this is the case, it means there is something that the governor is benefiting from the purported development of the environment which in this case is road without bridges. Deltans should be aware that there are five classes of roads viz: class A,B,C and D. These classes of roads have similar appearance but differ in content and durability. Okowa chose to go for class E roads which is the cheapest. He award such substandard projects to pseudo companies which he uses as front to effectively steal our collective resources. His prosperity slogan crumbled because he is not interested in any programme that will bring prosperity to the people. The reason is because any project or programme that will make the people prosper will not put money in Okowa’s pocket. He stopped the 5million naira scholarship grant to first class graduates because he will not get kick backs from the 5million. He stopped the free WAEC enrollment because he will not get kick backs from the enrollment. He sacked 3,000 workers in the state civil service because he will not get kick backs from their salaries. He sacked edumarshal because he was not getting kick backs from their salaries. Deltans should know that the 4Billion naira spent on Asaba athletic competition that brought international embarrassment to the state can comfortably pay the salary of the sacked 3,000 workers for four years (40,000x3000x12x3) but because Okowa was not getting kick backs from the payment of such salaries, he sacked the 3,000 workers employed by Uduaghan’s administration. He opted to spend 4Billion naira on a competition that brought embarrassment to our state because he got his fair share of the 4Billion naira as kick back. I can authoritatively confirm that Okowa has no legacy that he can bequeath to future generation. His resurfaced class E road projects does not satisfy the definition of the legacy because these roads are failing within two months after commissioning. Therefore such projects cannot be regarded as legacy of an administration because they cannot out-live his administration. We are taking records of workers who have died in the various ministries of the state and local government as a result of non payment of salaries, arrears and pensions by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. The king Pharoah of Owa Alero is too mean to be a governor in any state. Since he came into government as governor, he has been creating excuses to sack civil servants in order for him to pocket their salaries. He keeps singing the ego aria slogan to deceive Deltans yet he moved billions from the state to fund PDP national convention in Abuja. He moved billions to Edo State to fund the Edo governorship election, he moved billions to Ekiti State to fund the Ekiti state governorship election. What can best describe legacy other than free and compulsory basic education that Uduaghan gave to deltans? What can best describe legacy other than the free WAEC enrollment to delta students whose parents cannot afford to pay for WAEC enrollment. Some of whom have become graduates today on account of the free WAEC enrollment. The children that were birthed through the free maternal care are all legacies of Uduagan’s administration. The market women who got micro credit to set up business and their business are booming are all legacies of the Uduaghan administration. The 20,000 civil servants and teachers that Uduaghan employed are all legacies of his administration because their employment out lived his administration. Shoprite in Warri and Asaba and the jobs they have created for people are all legacies of Uduaghan’s administration. All the beautiful model schools scattered all over the state are all legacies of Uduaghan’s administration. The shoe factory that he established at Isele-Ukwu is a legacy of his administration, State School of Marine Burutu is a legacy of his administration. I can go on and on to mention legacies of Uduaghan’s administration. However , the incumbent governor Ifeanyi Okowa has no legacy. Aside the usual slogan of road master, I challenge his aides to mention three things that Okowa has done that can be regarded as a legacy. They should also mention any thing that Okowa has done that has touched the lives of all deltans . The peace and security that we are enjoying today is a legacy of Uduaghan’s administration. As Deltans bid Okowa goodbye in 2019, it is important for us to reflect on the legacy of his 4 year tenure. Although deltans are aware that his government is a government of deceit without any legacy to leave behind for future generation. Okowa has no political future in Delta state. Okowa must go 2019. |
