They destroyed the Local government system and every attempt by the current government to revive it met with strong opposition from them. The National Assembly had passed local govt autonomy bill which requires the assent of all the state house of assembly. As at the last count, only nineteen states had passed the law for years now. Who are the Governors deceiveing.
The problem we are facing today has it's root in the destruction of local govt system because if it is functioning the problem will not take this dimension.
Some of this Governors are richer than the FGN.
Let the restructuring starts from the states by returning the autonomy of local govt.
They all sacrificed local govt because of 2003 elections and now it's difficult to correct the wrongs.
