Facebook users in Nigeria and allover the world have been unable to access the social media platform since few hours ago.

Those who access facebook via web browsers cannot log in while facebook app users who are already logged in have not been able to make new posts, replies or comments.

Group admins can't add, remove or accept requests.
Page owners currently can't run facebook adverts.

In general, so many facebook tools are currently not functioning.

However, facebook messenger is still active and responsive.


Users have been forced to ask questions as regards whether or not the platform is hacked or is it just down due to server error or is it as a result of overpopulation of users? Remember last month Mark Zuckerberg announced that facebook has reached over 2 billion active users.

At exactly 1:30pm today (26-08-2017) I tried making a post on facebook with my facebook app but kept receiving error feedback as can be seen in the screenshot attached. All efforts proved abortive. As I logged out, I couldn't log in anymore.

Am I the only one experiencing this or is it a general problem?

YOU own a forum where people from all tribes in Nigeria belong. In a time like this, media personnels like you don't meddle into politics.. . You will never hear or see Linda Ikeji talking about Biafra... Ovie of NOTJUSTOK , Jide ogunsanya of Ogbongeblog, Noble Igwe of 360nobs, Uche Eze of Bellanaija, Chude Jideonwo of Ynaija, Loy okieze of Techloy, Laila Ikeji of Lailasblog and above all Makinde Azeez of Naijaloaded cannot talk about Biafra like this, because they know it is a very sensitive issue. .. Biafra is in the blood of every average igbo guy and they are very plenty on this forum. .. Now don't you think this set of guys who chant Biafra or death can decide to leave your forum thereby decreasing your traffic? What joy will it give you if you have only Hausa and your Yoruba brothers on your forum? Think about it. .. I don't support Biafra but I'm just being concerned about the effect of this post on your forum....
