Hello...My parents just got their visa today. They used Abuja and the interview was pretty straight forward.Dad was for vacation and mom to help out with the baby but they didn't drill them much probably because my dad has a German residency but they just asked why they were travelling and how long they intend to stay..what they plan to do during their trip. In fact i gave my mom my doctors correspondence but they didn't even ask her for it..but since your mom is applying alone, they might request to see the hospital correspondence, same for doctor, evidence that she can afford the trip and your visa page most likely( I hope you were truthful when you applied for your visa and if you didn't apply for medicals, i hope you have used it for the purpose it was applied for to avoid your own visa being revoked or something funny)

YETI28:
Hello sirs and mas please I need your opinions and advice. Thinking of going for another missionary journey and this time Wana go with my mum. But the thing is I have visa, but she doesn't. If I go with her to the embassy to secure one for her, please what are the likely questions they might ask us. Plus will they ask of hospital bill (receipt) or my first child? Please help me out. Thanks

Right! shows the quality of person you are....

Shawbabe:
Oh yes I had to once I saw an intelligent person, able to understand above the nonsense, and willing to address wrong for wrong.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ojceskills(m): 1:34pm On Mar 06, 2017
And I do....why?? because he left the issue to be tackled which was to respond to the poster advising people to use insurance but jumped to an uncorrelated response of saying " and i am sure you expect your Nigerian god to help you"..Emotional and psychological intelligence is the ability to discern between what applies and what doesn't... don't make everything about a mans' religion or belief..

Amother4life:
I don't see anything wrong with what Twoods has said. I don't see any reason to sugar coat anything when it comes to intentional misrepresentation during visa interviews. This forum should be able to speak with one voice at ALL times in rebuking such acts . Let this forum not be an extension of our society were ill gotten wealth is celebrated.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ojceskills(m): 1:29pm On Mar 06, 2017
Then you should have resisted the urge to speak but you just had to anyway...please join the English wagon if you're so perturbed by it

Shawbabe:
Lol I been wan talk but I said nahh...one drama at a time. TWoods even has time to keep responding....when the guy can't decide what his issue is with Twoods. I don't know if na English them wan display cheesy cheesy

This is my discontentment with your comments...your approach to response is majorly displaced. You try so hard to bring in sarcasm but really it only portrays you as disturbed

TWoods:
What if they call in favor? Surely the Nigerian "God" can do anything no?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ojceskills(m): 10:21am On Mar 06, 2017
I have an opinion like you do but unlike you i am couth and tactful in my conversations because apparently your struggle is not with Nigerians, their choice of religion or how deep they choose to display it or even their lifestyle but haven studied you and your utterances on this trend, its clear your struggle is with you because you are clearly angry about something and nairaland forum is your way of venting away your missed aspirations.Calling the average Nigerian Christian a hypocrite yet you know the word so much but not enough not to judge or cast the first stone. You talk about respect for authority, what of respect for one another or does this bible you know so much permit vileness in our words??
Enough said ..

TWoods:
Other than another opportunity to hurl invectives, it was hard to figure out what your complaint really is about? Was it about my "disrespect" for "God"? Was it your perception that I have not led by example in respecting god? Or are you just annoyed that I respond to posts without reading? Is it about wanting to be perceived as knowledgeable or is your overall quibble that I am indeed unintelligent?

In terms of God and respect, I think someone else explained it already... if your "respect" for god centers only on how his name is written, rather than how you and others reverence him with regard to your every day actions, then you are of all men the worst hypocrite.
I mean, nowhere in the Bible does God say anything about how to spell his name, but he says a lot about honesty, obedience (even to local secular authorities, letting our words and deeds be above reproach etc. you remind me of what I really think about Nigerian "Christians" - a collection of spiritually empty hypocrites, whose concern for god does not extend beyond what he can acquire for them and whose reverence for him is purely superficial (how you spell his name, how you dress in church, how long you pray etc.).

In terms of leading by example - i rarely invoke god or anything religious here. On the other hand, this thread is chockful of people calling on favor, waffling on about testimonies and people like you who get their pants in a knot about how his very title should be spelled. I would have expected you all to lead the way in showing us how much that god means to you with respect to your deeds and utterances.

The rest of your points I will kindly decline to engage. You have a right to your own opinion.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ojceskills(m): 9:37pm On Mar 05, 2017
Oh dear your response just highlighted your narrow minded nature. This was about you not others...Since you care so much about the things God says and what HE is concerned about then why not lead by example and start by showing some respect for the same God you quote his words so much. Only if you took time to understand sometimes we are actually the problem especially when we are quick to lend our voices in the bid to be perceived as knowledgeable then will you respond intelligently.

TWoods:
Here is the point... if you care so much about capitalizing the alphabet used to spell GOD, shouldn't we expect people to also care more about the very things God himself says he is concerned about in Galatians and Philippians and other books of the Bible?

I am always impressed about the upside down spiritual logic of the average Nigerian.

I don't get why you keep referring to God as "god".I have no issues with your over conceited attitude but the habit of writing God in small letter is what exasperates me

TWoods:
Frauds whose "god" has obviously abandoned them to a life of misery in one of the world's most corrupt places on earth. Balaam also obtained "favor" too...

If we knew it all..I dont think we would be on this forum trying to rub minds and empowering each-other with information. I agree sometimes people do not make efforts to search out stuff themselves but that is no excuse to make someone feel daft.....

Shawbabe:
Still can't believe your question is for real. Anyway you've answered your question.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ojceskills(m): 11:16am On Feb 23, 2017
Well i think you will need to go with the child's birth certificate and a consent letter from the child's dad.Your marital status doesn't really stop them from granting you a visa if you meet all requirements and have your document (you could also go with the wedding invitations and pictures for extra comfort)

You also need to provide a document that shows you are a 5th year medical student so to show your are engaged here in Nigeria and most importantly prove that you can pay all your bills.

You will need doctors referrals from Nigerian hospital and correspondence from the hospital the child intends to use in the US(budget sheet, appointment confirmation, bills quoted etc) search the thread for child birth budget sheet and edit it to fit your purpose (or use an excel and create one)

The hospital to contact depends on which state you wish to go to, your budget for this trip and medicals, the kind of treatment your child is seeking...etc

Just have all the documents you think will help, make sure you have the funds and be confident

All the best

Good morning beautiful mums, honestly I've been reading a lot of the posts here and they are quite enlightening. Great job . please I have some questions directed to the general house. Anyone with similar experience should let me know.
1) will it be possible to get my visa approved as my passport bears my maiden name, marital status single and my son(1yr 7months) has a passport that bears his fathers surname. I'm a 5th year medical student and intend to take my son for medical treatment
We have done our traditional wedding and the white will b coming up in December invitation cards are already out. I had my son when I was in my 4th year in sch.
2) what documents do I need to go withand which ones can i use to show strong ties here in nigeria.
3) what are the likely questions I could be asked.
4) which hospital can I contact to get correspondence
5) how do I make a budget does it have to be typed by me? A picture of one will go a long way to help. Thanks love.

Only you can do what no man can do jehovah
In the spirit of giving back... Good morning mamas and papas. I was here to share my transcript in December when I applied alone and was refused the b2 visa for no reason in Abuja.
I reapplied with my husband for January but my husband was called to work so we had to reschedule to today. He still wasn't back so I had to go for the interview alone. Here's how it went
I reapplied in Lagos this time

VO: good morning
ME: morning ma'am
VO: can I have your passport please
ME:I passed my passports to her
VO: so why are you going to the us
ME: to have my baby
VO: are you married
ME: yes I am( then I chipped in that my husband was scheduled to come with me but couldn't make it)
VO: what do you do
ME: I'm a .... Working with .....
VO: what does your husband do
ME: he works with.... As an .....
VO: so who is paying for the trip
ME: my husband is my sponsor
VO: do you have any doctors correspondent
ME: yes I do. And I gave her
VO: okay thank you.
VO: so how much will this trip cost you
ME: slightly above 13k dollars
VO: have you made any payments
ME: no. The hospital refused to collect payment until I come in person
VO: okay that's fine. Pick up your visa on Monday bla bla bla.
She said my husband can apply for his when he gets back dou.
I seriously didn't hear the rest. I'm just so excited and grateful to God who has done this. Aside the dr corespondence, nothing else was checked.

Now I'm looking for affordable tickets to Houston. Plan on using HNWM and dr Xydas.
Thank you for all the impute and encouragement. God bless you guys in nairaland
