Hello..I actually had this issue too..Mom is a teacher and i needed her to travel with me, I already had my own visa..But i just had to brief her on what to say, gave her all the necessary documents and trust God it goes well...The best you can do is equipt her with all the information she needs and do mock interview with her..She is a teacher so she is learned and can actually defend her self, we just dont trust enough...All the best

happymumtobe:
Hello mum...please I need an answer to this.

I just applied for my mum today as she keep insisting she can't leave me all alone. I will be travelling end of June and she plan to join me end of July.

Her interview is in two weeks...Am not so sure my mum will be able to defend herself. Can I follow her to support it or let her go alone.

She is a teacher and the vo will obviously expect her to be able to defend herself alone.

Thanks. So if someone from the US helps purchase your ticket..Will it be honored for your trip here in Nigeria..Just wondering??

Shawbabe:
Lol it's always been like that. When you're buying from places like say the U.S or Canada (those are the places I know), tickets are waaay cheaper than buying from Naija. I dunno why it's been this way for like forever. i think the price is more becoz of all of naija wahala lol. I'm kidding. I think it has to do with FX and all that technical ish

Ok guys lets get back to the purpose of the thread.... So i was trying to book a flight to Houston for July ending through Airfrance and i realized something..When i tried initially without realizing my country was US on the browser the price was 4000 dollars cheaper than when i changed country to Nigeria. Both for same route and i am really surprised.Has anyone else noticed this?? Please see my attachment for a clearer view

Lool i have just been laughing at you cox i knew in the end you will still do some work that you are avoiding. The best way to prepare your self is to do the search your self...That is what i did o..I even read from thread 1 till now and made notes and all but you can start from thread four...have you even determined the place you wish to use in Texas??---- Dallas?? Elpaso?? Houston?? Arlington?? Austin?? San Antonio?? Waco?? etc well the popular hospitals in Houston are oakbend, Houston north west medical centre, Methodist, west Houston medical centre etc..you could type in some of this hospitals in the thread and read up everything that comes up on the conversations were they are mentioned and while doing that note abbreviations of names of doctors (sometimes they are mentioned in full) then check the hospital website for their full names and contacts.for Elpaso i think most people use doctores( their advert is on the top page of this thread). Before your visa interview you need to get hospital quote and doctors correspondence and also prepare a budget sheet(type it in the thread and see some suggestions come up) and ensure you have enough money in your account that will be sufficient for childbirth..still on still you have to read..read..read... to be best prepared

TashaStPatrik:
You guys are so right.. The guy is an agent has has forwarded his 'job' to me.. However, i appreciate this thread. I'll do it myself mbok, make i no go enter one chance..

You will apply for B2 which is a medical visa and your DH/Son will apply for B1- Tourist unless they intend to receive medical treatment as well during the trip

adew1234:
Hello House.

I am filling my DS-160,i applied for B1,should my DH and son also apply for B1 since we plan travelling majorly for childbirth or should my DH and son apply for B2?

Any lead will be appreciated.

It is really unfair when lots come here and advise people to give up and have their babies here in Nigeria...If he wanted to do that, he wont be seeking alternative advise...I remember same way the lady who lied about visiting relatives for 40 days and was denied was severally advised to just have her baby in Nigeria but lo..She finally went back and was truthful and got the visa...My point is he is aware he messed up and is now trying to make things right by suggesting a holiday trip before going for birthing why be such a wet blanket though

nefertitiram:
Since you want my response so much here it is.

You concealed material information. Hence you lied.

To avoid further issues. Have the baby in Nigeria then go for vacation after.

Well, ideally you shouldn't be able to notarize a document before the baby is born but then it happens...However, you will not be able to get it done before the birth of your baby if you plan on doing it at the US embassy as the baby's birth-date and details must be captured on the form so if you want to travel with the document you will use alternative notary other than the US Embassy so you have to confirm if those are accepted in the State where you will be having your baby.

Secondly, If you are travelling with the form already notarized here in Nigeria before the baby's birth, ensure you keep it out of sight from the officers at your POE.A friend of mine almost got into some trouble for having a notarized form with a blank date on it.....

Good day mamas, please i am asking on behalf of my friend as i am still ttc baby nos 2. Please i need the email address of the financial counselor for Houston North West hospital. Have called Dr Nicholas's office and got their quote but i have been calling the hospital since this week and when they transfer the call to the financial department, it tells me the email address to send a mail too. But i cant seem to get the correct spelling of the email address and i dont want to make mistakes, hence my plea. Thanks mamas.

Lool i dont think its a discount or insurance thing o because i asked and they said its for self pay and they call it miracle moment for birthing.. so i think its a special name for their maternity package

Oloye12345:
My people!

Abeg oo...which one is 'Miracle Moments' again? I got an e-mail from HNWC and they stated that we will be registered for the 'Miracle Moment' program to pay $2K for hospital bill in full. I hope is not one of those insurance wahala? I don't need USA financial aids oo..

Yes you can book an appointment before submitting the DS-160 form as long as you are sure you will be submitting that particular form since you will use the number to book your appointment. In-fact i scheduled my interview a week before i even submitted my form.

Since his contact address for where he will be staying in the US is your cousins home, he has to state that he has someone/relative in the US (His wifes' cousin)

oppaxy:
Hello everyone... I've got a few questions. I would appreciate helpful responses from NL family.

Hubby is currently completing his DS 160 form to schedule an interview to witness the birth of our first child (I am in the US already staying at my cousin's place)

- "do you have any relatives in the US"?
Could answer be YES as there's an option for spouse and I'm here presently. Or NO as he has no relatives either immediate or extended here.
- "US contact info"?
Would that be my cousin's address and contact as he'll be staying at same address.
- Thirdly, is there a way I can schedule an appointment (choose a date) before submitting d DS160 form ***payment made at d bank already.

Thanks for your support ***in advance

Hello..Are your parents literate?? if yes then pick the option that they filled themselves because they would have been able to anyway..you just helped with the manual labor( I hope they reviewed your inputs though) but if they are not literate then you have to fill in your name as the person who filled the form on their behalf....

Babatwi:
Pls those that filled ds 160 form for their parents, what was your answer where they were asked if they filled the form themselves?
