Education / Border Closure: Ghanaian Traders’ Union Call For Boycott Of Nigerian Products by Ojinewton7812: 7:02pm On Oct 19, 2019
boycott of all Nigerian products imported by Ghana as Nigeria’s land border closure bites West African countries.

The move, the traders union believes, will force the Nigerian government to open up its land borders for foreign goods. Nigeria partially shut its borders since August.

According to Ghanaweb.com, Greater Accra Regional Secretary of GUTA, David Kwadwo Amoateng on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Friday said the Nigerian government has not been fair to foreign traders. In return, he expects the Ghana government to prevent Nigerian traders from bringing goods into Ghana, but that plea has fallen on deaf ears.

“Either somebody’s bread has been buttered or we are cowards. Government is not being fair to us,” he fumed.

Mr Amoateng cited how Dangote cement had taken over the market while local ones from GHACEM are suffering.

“Let’s boycott Nigerian products as payback to their government’s action. How can we be slaves in our own country?” he said. Amoateng argued that the issue, if not checked, could hamper the Continental Free Trade Area.

Sports / I Beat Him For The Second Time, He Should Take A Break From Boxing - Andy Ruiz J by Ojinewton7812: 4:49pm On Oct 02, 2019
Andy Ruiz Jnr has told Anthony Joshua to quickly embark on a break from boxing if he loses to him for the second time.

Back in June, Joshua lost his IBF, WBA and WBO titles in a shock defeat to Ruiz Jr back at Madison Square Garden. The Mexican boxer defeated Joshua in the seventh-round.

With the pair getting ready to have a huge rematch that will take place in Saudi Arabia in December, Andy Ruiz Jnr has advised Joshua to go on a quick break if he fails to regain his world titles.

I think he should take a little break if I beat him,' Ruiz Jr told Sky Sports.

'Let him recuperate, but one or two losses are not going to make a difference. He's still a warrior, he's still a great fighter, and I'm sure he'll bounce back.'

He said: 'I think I had to grieve and ask myself all the questions you would expect.'People say "you lost", I call it a blip.

'I can't wait to get in there and fight him. Every time I have fought a champion I have risen to the occasion.'

Crime / Missing N35m JAMB Money, witness Tells Court That Officials Tried To Bribe Audito by Ojinewton7812: 4:22pm On Oct 02, 2019
s, Umoru, and urged him to return to Abuja. The auditor according to Obilo, sensed danger and returned to Abuja and reported the situation to the head of JAMB’s Audit Unit, James Ochijele, who ordered that the N50,000 “gift” be paid into the Board’s account. Ochijele had to replace Oba with the witness (Obilo) for the same assignment in the Makurdi office. While examining the books of accounts in the Makurdi Office, Obilo said he discovered a shortfall in the proceeds from the sales of e-facility cards and change of course forms to the tune of N35,480,000, which were not remitted to the Board’s account. Asked for explanation, Chieshe began to cry as she gave all manners of justifications for the disappearance of the money, including a tale that a mystery snake had been swallowing the money in Umoru’s office, even as it was kept in a safe. In another incredible story, she claimed that a mermaid appeared to her in her bedroom to attack her at various times and that her house maid is a witch. Real trouble started for Umoru and Chieshe with the coming on board of Professor Ishaq Oloyede as JAMB’s registrar, who set up a reconciliation committee to look into the accounts of all the state offices. This committee unearthed monumental stealing. With no objections from counsel to the defendants, the prosecution tendered the report of the reconciliation committee and its summary, which Justice Affen admitted in
evidence. Under cross-examination by Mark Fees, counsel
