BusinessBasic Things You Should Know Before You Start Blogging by Ojobojo1(op): 10:59am On Feb 19, 2016
A lot of people are blogging these days and most enter it blindly thus quitting after few months, here are some tips to help you succeed in your blogging career.

Do not blog because everybody is blogging: There are many other ways to make money online asides blogging, don’t just follow the bandwagon and then crash.

Do not blog about what everybody is blogging: In Nigeria simply because Linda Ikeji is making it big in the entertainment niche, everybody wants to blog about entertainment. This is the major cause of failure for bloggers.

Find what you are good out and blog passionately about it, this way it will be fun to do and the money will be an added bonus. For example, I blog about technology which is something I am passionate about so I enjoy it and I’m also paid for it, Cool right? There are many niches you can focus on: Fashion, Photography, Cooking, Food Criticism, Politics and so on, browse Google and find out.

Ensure you make out time for your blog: A blog which is not taken care of will die off sooner than later because Google and other search engines will rank it poorly.

Make sure you write original articles with at least 200 words per article on the average: It is of paramount importance that you always write articles yourself, DO NOT COPY AND PASTE!!! This is one of the things killing Nigerian bloggers, everybody is copying and pasting, In my early days as a blogger, this is what I usually did and it killed my blogs.

Making money from blogging is not easy, you have to work hard for it.Google Adsense which is the main source of income for bloggers and website owners is very difficult to get into especially if you copy and paste, also in order to be ranked high in search results (Appear on Google first page) you must have very good and original articles posted regularly.

Optimize your blog or website for Search Engines: This is very necessary, you can’t just sit down, fold your arms and think you will start getting huge traffic and start making millions of naira, LOL at you if you think so! You have to do what is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization), you see, most of the visitors you can expect to get will be from search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. Most people do not go beyond Google’s first page when searching for something and there are thousands of blogs and websites with similar content to yours so in order to stand out and be in Google’s first page and at the top of the page, you have to optimize your site.

CelebritiesYipee! Nigerian John Boyega Is The New Face Of Star Wars by Ojobojo1(op): 10:27pm On Dec 16, 2015
I’m so happy writing this, our fellow Nigerian brother, John Boyega who played the role of Ugwu (Odenigbo’s houseboy) in ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ is the lead actor in the upcoming Star Wars Film titled “Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.” Boyega was born in London on 17 March 1992 to Nigerian parents Samson and Abigail Boyega and started his acting career at age 5 as a Leopard in a play at his primary school. His father is a Pastor and wanted him to become same but his talent in acting was so evident that he was given a scholarship to attend a drama school for talented kids, He went to South Thames College and studied Performing Arts.

He began appearing in movies in 2011 starring in Attack the Block, other movies he starred in are JunkHearts, Half of a Yellow Sun, Imperial Dreams and The Circle. He has also starred in some series films such as; Da Brick, Becoming Human, Law & Order: UK, My Murder, The Whale, 24: Live Another Day and Major Lazer.

Boyega plays Finn, the lead character in the Star Wars movie which will be released in December this year. One of Boyega’s most cherished possessions is his orange-and-black-striped cat named ‘Oluwalogan’ meaning ‘God is Big’ which he got after he was done acting in ‘Star Wars’. His hobbies are working out, playing video games and collecting action figures.

The 23 year old actor had this to say about the movie “Sci-fi over the years has had a way of commenting on social issues, but without being preachy…, Star Wars’ was built on mythical stories, spirituality and also the classic good-versus-evil. But also, for me, is the understanding of human beings…I just love the human commentary.” His favourite moment in the Star Wars movie shoot was the scene where he was in Abu Dhabi in the desert in full Stormtrooper gear, standing next to a crashed TIE fighter.

Boyega’s casting was not without problems, some twitter users made negative remarks and questioned Disney’s decision to cast a black man in the leading role and some even threatened to boycott the movie. Boyega responded to all his haters saying “Get used to it.”

Boyega won the Black Reel Award for Best Actor for his role as Moses in Attack the Block in 2011, he was also chosen by Screen International’s Fionnuala Halligan as one of the “UK Stars of Tomorrow 2011”. He has also been nominated for several awards notable among them are Black Reel Award for Best Breakthrough Performance, Black Reel Award for Best Ensemble, British Independent Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer, Empire Award for Best Male Newcomer, Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer and London Film Critics’ Circle Award for Young British Performer of the Year.

He is also a character in Disney’s upcoming video game called ‘Infinity’ based on the Star Wars movie and he portrays ’Finn’ which is the character he plays in the movie. About the game, he said”I had a great time doing the voiceover for Finn for “Disney’s Infinity”. The great thing about him is that you get to bring the same spirit of a character I helped create to the gaming world. For me, that is so weird, because I love games. To see myself in that format, it’s just ridiculous. I can’t even say it’s a dream come true. It’s more like an altered reality. It’s like, seriously, did I just end up in a video game? I mean, you want to be in movies, but then you end up in a video game. It’s crazy.

Konga is just a useless company, they hardly sell any products themselves so they can't really do discounts. Almost all the goods on their site are sold by individual sellers who can hardly make good profit with the high cost of free delivery(the buyer might not even collect the order and puff, you have wasted transport money). Jumia is far better

PhonesConfused On Which Android Phone To Buy? Google Can Help! by Ojobojo1(op): 9:05am On Jun 22, 2015
Google has created a tool which can help phone buyers find the “Best Android Phone” for themselves by simply answering few questions about their preferences and lifestyle. The tool is a website (android.com/phones/whichphone) and on it, there is a statement saying "With many Android phones to choose from, here's a great place to start…"

Users have to choose at least three options out of twelve on the website which include "Listening to music" "Taking photos", "expressing my style."etc, selecting each preference directs you to a new webpage to select how often you use a particular feature. Some pages also ask you what you think are the most important functions of a phone, all these will enable the app give the user specific phones to meet his or her desire. The more options the user selects, the better the answer the app gives.

Once users finish selecting options and answering questions, they simply need to click the green "Show Me Phones" button and choose their network provider (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon), for those in Nigeria, just click the "Choose later option". Furthermore, on the results page, there are menus which allow filtering of results e.g. size, price which enables the user get the best Android phone he or she wants.

PhonesNigerian Teenage Brothers Create New Web Browser by Ojobojo1(op): 1:42am On Jun 09, 2015
Two Nigerian brothers, 13-year-old Anesi and 15-year-old Osine Ikhianosime, have created a web browser for Android phones called ‘Crocodile Browser Lite’. The teenagers who are both students of Greensprings School, Anthony Campus, Lagos reportedly got tired of using the in-built Google Chrome browser on their Android devices and built theirs in 2014. The mobile browser is currently available on the Google Play Store and is a fast browser for low-end Android phones. Nice development, hoping for more of these in the future.
