renderme: This is true.
Nigerians realized on twitter that the whole propaganda was indeed propaganda. January salary entered their accounts and their salaries increased due to lower taxes.
Exactly what this tax guy said was going to happen. The new tax laws reduces taxes for like 90% of Nigerian workers. It's for employed people o. Not self employed (gala and pure water seller) like you. So, allow them to comment on this post |

AMINDA: All I read was a lot of mumbo-jumbo with no head or tail. The National Assembly adopted a special approach in passing this tax bill due to its sensitive nature. 40 members of the House of reps and 40 senators with representation from each state were selected to sit and harmonise the law. What was harmonised by these legislators was deliberated upon, passed and forwarded to the president and the house of reps member who raised this observation on forgery was a member of that committee. There's no different house of reps version or a senate version.
Read more below...
The more I read comments the more I get confused as to how these co called wailers reason. A lot of them will still attack your post. As you have said, "No reps, Senate, or presidency version. The president signed what was sent to his office |

Antiurchins: 2023 Presidential Election
1- Tinubu: 8 million, 2- Atiku: 7 million 3- Obi: 6 million
Total, 13 million against 8 million.
Okay Northners voted massively for him because of Elrufia now he paid them back with hardship.
Take this coalition for granted at your own peril. Tinubu must shiver. His heart must palpit and at the end, would be beaten blue-black by the opposition. Because of el rufai? The same el rufai that couldn't deliver his state for APC? Lol @ who we share space with on nairaland |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Clear All Debt Owed To IMF — Otega Ogra Hails Major Milestone! by ojoisimi(m): 7:50am On May 07, 2025 |
malali: • World Bank: $17.81 billion USD
Nigeria has made significant strides in reducing its IMF debt.
While its obligations to the World Bank have increased due to new loan approvals aimed at supporting various sectors.
We have paid 306 million dollars owed IMF.
If Nigeria pays only 306 million dollars every 2 years as Tinubu just did we would still owe over $18 billion dollars at the end of his first 4 years. Because the interest on the remaining $23 billion is up to $300 million dollars.
In the world of Debts, All Tinubu did was service the loan, he only paid the interest !!!!
We still owe World Bank close to $18 Billion dollars and we are still borrowing more....We still owe over 60 x 306 million.
We still owe $5 billion dollars to China.
Stop spreading news to deceive the citizens. When you make announcements like this. Paint the whole picture.
That's what accountability and transparency means. The post is about IMF not the others you mentioned. You too can at least come up with a post on other loans and debts of the nation for people to digest. Stop running from pillar to post just to discredit the intention of another nairalander's post. |
