The big city of Ojoto, in Idemili South Local Government area of Anambra state was thrown into confusion on Saturday 13/5/2017 when a man with the help of his cabal made himself a king without due consultation with the kingmakers. We learnt that the situation generated so much tension that the youths of the village decided of attacking the self-made king, because of unprecedented and shameful act of making himself a king without due consultations, so many save-our-soul messages was sent to so many media houses and the government of Anambra state. Reprieve and succour came to Ojoto this evening as the government of the state decided to wade into the situation by telling every aggrieved parties to steer clear of any action that can lead to anarchy and the consequence of loss of lives. The letter came through the special assistant to the governor on chieftancy affairs, Mr Ikechukwu Onyeabo.

OJOTO kingdom , the host town of idemili south local government headquarters, was thrown into confusion today when a man crowned himself a king. I reliably learnt that the once quiet and serene town had been in the tussle of who succeeds the deceased Igwe ( HRH Augustine Obidiwe) which had generated so many tensions to the extent of the governor of the state (Chief Willy Obiano) wading into the situation by trying to find lasting solutions to the situation. Heaven was let loose today when one Chief Dennis Okafor made himself the Igwe of Ojoto that had produced some great men like Dr. Pius Okigbo ( a renowned economist) Chris Okigbo ( one of the greatest poets ever). I was told that what brought the fracas was that he ( Chief Dennis Okafor) connived with his cabal and made himself the king without following the constitution and consultation of the king makers, though the regent of the town Chief Gerald Mbamalu who is one of the top contenders of throne has called for peace and normalcy. I implore governor Willy Obiano to do the needful ,by allowing the town to choose who leads them which the constitution stipulates and must be followed . Here is the constitution of Ojoto.
