PoliticsFor Nigeria To Develop,there Has To Be Division Of NIGERIA by ojsmscom(op): 2:27pm On Jun 15, 2021
No insult meant but a pure truth... obviously it is an undoubted truth that there exists two different ideologies between the northern and southern part of Nigeria...
Many southern leaders are social in nature while their nothern counterparts are religious in nature...what do I mean by the above assertion...
What I meant is that nothern politicians are assessed by majority of their followers based on how they worked towards the support of their religion muslim...I know this are christians in the north whoose political view differs from their Muslim brothers but obviously these Muslims are of majority in the north..so nomatter how bad a nothern politician might be,hence he or she is in support of their religious activities and ready to support their religious ideologies,such politician will enjoy the masses support...

Now an average southern Nigerian expects nothing short of good governance from his or her leader weather Christan or Muslim..
So in as much as the nothern and southern nigeria remains one county there will never be good governance in the country because the two chance different leadership ideologies and different believe in followers hip....
Secondly,most southerners have traveled abroad and see what leadership is all about and will accept nothing different from what they have seen abroad from their leaders since Nigeria has the resources to give them exactly the style of governance they see in the western world...whereas the reverse is the case with most NOTHERNERS who hardly leave the shores of this country except some privileged few....
I don't mean to insult any tribe by this article but just to exray how division of NIGERIA will encourage development and reduce citizens hatred among the nationals..

PoliticsTwitter Ban Has Made Nigerians Realised That VPN Makes Topic Trend Easier In Us by ojsmscom(op):
*Very Educative*
--—————————
*Twitter Ban: Evading the Law of Unintended Consequences with Systems Thinking*

Twitter was trending with multiple terms related to the state of affairs in Nigeria.

Twitter is used more as a listening tool, to keep one's finger on the pulse of things.

One look at the trending topics, and you could have a summary of current affairs for the day.

In multiple Nigerian terms on the trending section, one thought the app was experiencing a glitch, showing him trending topics.

After a few seconds, one can realised what the real situation was. There was no glitch after all.

Here’s the breakdown of what happened.

Whenever something tragic or contentious occurred in Nigeria, the citizens would tweet about it, and the topic would trend - TO NIGERIANS.

This meant that even though the complaints and agitations of the citizens were being posted to the public social media platform, the issues seldom ever registered as the trending topics of other countries.

However, there was a twist here which leads us to the Law of Unintended Consequences.

The Nigerian Government banned twitter and this led the mammoth Nigerian youth population to download VPNs to bypass the ban.

On most VPNs, the United States is the default or preferred location.

And so millions of Nigerians who would normally tweet and register their discontent as the trending topics of Nigeria, were now registering the issues on the trend list of the United States.

Americans woke up today confused by terms such as ‘IPOB’, ‘Buhari’ and ‘Malami’.

If the Nigerian government had not banned Twitter, the displeasure of Nigerians would have been localised.

In the wake of the ban, the displeasure of Nigerians was being broadcast to the centre of the world through VPNs, creating global awareness for a matter that would have otherwise remained local.

Most Nigerian VPN users didn’t plan for this effect. It was just an unintended consequence of using VPNs, albeit a welcome one.

Another unintended consequence here is that Nigerians may have now learned how to ensure that topics of agitation are registered on the trends lists of the United States - by mobilizing Nigerians to tweet via VPNs with the US as their virtual location.

The Law of Unintended Consequences can be avoided by utilizing a thinking tool called Second Order Thinking.

*Second Order* *Thinking* posits that there is more than meets the eye when solving problems, and that by solving one problem, we may inadvertently create another problem.

We must therefore rigorously apply Second Order Thinking and even Third Order Thinking in order to arrive at an Ecological solution.

I’ll explain this using another lesson from history.

Back when the British ruled India, thus faced a problem with a rising population of venomous cobras in Delhi.

To solve this problem, the British colonialists launched a bounty program, offering a cash prize for every cobra that was killed.

All the residents had to do, was to kill a cobra and present its body to the British government and claim the reward.

However, the business-minded Indians devised a plan to ‘optimise’ their rewards - they would breed cobras privately, kill them, present the dead cobras to the British and collect the cash reward.

The British were initially delighted to see that cobras were being killed in large numbers.

On the surface, the bounty programme appeared to be a raving success - 1ST ORDER THINKING.

The British soon found out about the breeding operations and terminated the bounty programme - 2ND ORDER EFFECTS.

This now meant that the Indian snake breeders were left with many snakes that could not be sold, and so they set them all free.

There were now more cobras all over Delhi after the bounty programme than when it was first started - 3RD ORDER EFFECTS.

What does this mean for you?

As with the stories of the Twitter ban and the British bounty programme, we must seek to solve problems by seeing the whole landscape rather than what is readily apparent.

We must consider not only the First Order Effects of our decisions, but also their Second and even Third Order Effects.

This overarching strategy is called SYSTEMS THINKING, and Second Order thinking is just one component of it.

Let’s look at another hypothetical application of this powerful thinking tool.

Say you were the Founder/CEO of a Billion Dollar corporation and one of your founding executives was found to be engaged in fraudulent activity.

What would you do?

Well, a First Order approach to this problem would be to simply fire this individual.

Second Order thinking would examine any potential consequences of dismissing this person.

On further investigation, you may then realize that this person may choose to express their disgruntlement by joining a competing organization and use company secrets to strengthen your opposition.

Of course you could go to court, but your lawyers graduated from Harvard Law and would charge millions of dollars to duel with your adversary over the coming months and years.

Considering the cost of the Second Order effects of a straight dismissal, you may wish to act ignorant of the act of fraud and do something else instead.

Create a small office in a far away country which is inconsequential to overall brand image and profitability.

Puff up his ego by offering him the role of Country Manager or ‘General Manager - Diaspora Relations’.

This fraudster would feel valued and stay on your side, while being tactically stripped of the ability to continually perpetrate fraud.

You solved the First Order problem of fraud, cancelled out the chances of future fraud and potentially saved the company millions of dollars in legal fees.

This strategy is used at the highest levels of power - across politics, organized crime organizations, business and even organized religion.

Read this a couple of times over and make your notes on how this can offer solutions past and future obstacles in your life.

As Solomon famously wrote,
"For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.----Ecclesiastes 7:12

Nairaland GeneralSoldiers Prevent Sunday Igboho From Counter Attack After FULANI Attack On A Comm by ojsmscom(op): 12:11pm On Jun 08, 2021
Popular Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho on Monday visited Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo state, a day after the town was attacked by Fulani herdsmen.

Igboho was in the town to access the level of damage in yesterday’s attack. During the visit, Igboho also tried to comb the forest with his boys in search of the killer herdsmen.

He was, however, prevented from entering the forest by a team of fully armed soldiers, who were trailing his convoy immediately after they arrived in the town.

About 8 trucks of the Nigerian Army behind Igboho’s convoy. It will be recalled that several Yoruba people were massacred by suspected herdsmen in Igangan, also the palace of the Asigangan, the paramount ruler of the area was also burnt.

Did u understand this report?

Fulani bandits killed the villagers and ran inside the bush.

The Sunday Igboho came to cumb the forest and probably flush out the killers.

Soldiers of Nigerian Army acting under an order prevented the man and his team from accessing the forest.

So, Soldiers now given bandits protection?

I still wonder those still against division of this country

Anyway, it happened to Igangan village yesterday.

What if it happen to your village today?

Think about this.

Nairaland GeneralBefore You Criticize The Igbos,view Nigeria From Their On View by ojsmscom(op): 11:35am On May 29, 2021
Nigeria must take a decision on the Igbo's now. Look at this.

Before August 9, 1965, the Singaporeans were seen as an irritation in Malaysia.

Then Singapore was one of the 14 states of Malaysia. Singaporeans were viewed as arrogant, stubborn, and domineering.

While the United Malays National Organisation wanted affirmative action or “quota system” for the Malays, the People’s Action Party of the Singaporeans insisted that the best thing for the country was a merit-based policy on all issues, so as to bring out the best in the nation and create a spirit of excellence.

This constant disagreement and tension resulted in race riots. It got to a point where the Malays could take it no more. So on August 9, 1965 they convened the parliament, with no Singaporean parliamentarian present. At that sitting, the legislators voted unanimously (126 – 0) to expel Singapore from Malaysia.

When the Singaporeans heard that they had been expelled from the nation, at first they were devastated.

But they took their fate in their hands and started building a new nation.
And, indeed, by applying merit and the pursuit of excellence, Singaporeans built a country that moved from the Third World to First World in record time, overtaking Malaysia in all ramifications.

Interestingly, despite this sad way of parting, Malaysia and Singapore have remained good neighbours.

In spite of the success that the latter has recorded, it has not made Malaysia not to record its own success.

There are many similarities between the story of Singapore and Malaysia and the Igbo and Nigeria.

The Igbo are not happy with the quota system policy used in the admission into federal schools and federal positions. They want competitiveness in every sector, which will lead to the best being selected, for the sake of excellence.

The Igbo are seen as arrogant, noisy, domineering, greedy, over-ambitious, to mention but a few.

Many Nigerians see them as irritants.
They get killed frequently, especially in the North, at the least misunderstanding.
Sometimes the cause of the provocation is someone from Denmark, Cameroon or another part of Nigeria.

There are many Nigerians who will easily tell you: “We will never allow an Igbo person to rule Nigeria.” There are many who believe that the problem of Nigeria is from the Igbo and that once the Igbo are done away with, Nigeria’s problems will disappear.

Given this scenario, the Igbo want a true federal system that will make Nigeria look like what it was before 1966, with each state or region taking charge of most of its affairs and moving at its own pace.

But very Sadly, anytime it mentions restructuring or true federalism, there are forces that resist it vehemently and insist that such will not be allowed.

Ironically, despite this view by many Nigerians about the Igbo, anytime any person or group from Igbo land asks that the Igbo be allowed to leave Nigeria to form their own country, the resistance from most Nigerians is fierce. This reaction creates a contradiction. If the Igbo are irritants and troublemakers, why not expel them from Nigeria the way Singaporeans were expelled from Malaysia? But if you see them as valuable and believe they must be part of the Nigerian state, why not treat them as equal partners in the union? What does Nigeria really want from the Igbo?

Sometime ago news broke that the Department of State Services embarked on a recruitment exercise, with 165 people recruited from the North-West.

The report said that 51 people were recruited from Katsina State alone, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Director General of Department of State Security, Mr Lawal Daura, while the number of people recruited from the five states of the South-East was 44 and the number recruited from the six states of the South-South was 42.

Compare that with the academic performance of the different zones of Nigeria. The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Education of 2016 produced the following number of applicants from the six zones:

South-East (five states) = 335,883;

South-West (six states) = 320,691;

South-South (six states) = (299,632);

North-Central (six states plus the FCT) = 259,846;

North-West (seven states) = 163,240;

North-East (six states) = 96,220.

The six states that produced the highest number of candidates were:

Imo – 104,383
Delta – 78,854
Anambra – 77,694
Osun – 72,752
Oyo – 72,298
Enugu – 69,381.
The six states that produced the least number of candidates were:

Adamawa – 15,615
Jigawa – 12,664
Yobe – 10,045
Sokoto – 10,006
Kebbi – 8,947
Zamfara – 5,295
The states that were given a minimum of 130 cut-off mark out of 200 in the 2013 examination into the Unity Schools were:

Anambra – Male (139) Female (139)

Imo – Male (138) Female (138)

Enugu – Male (134) Female (134)

Lagos – Male (133) Female (133)

Delta – Male (131) Female (131)

Ogun – Male (131) Female (131)

Abia – Male (130) Female (130)

For the same examination, the states that were given cut-off marks of less than 50 were:

Borno – Male (45) Female (45)

Jigawa – Male (44) Female (44)

Bauchi – Male (35) Female (35)

Kebbi – Male (9) Female (20)

Sokoto – Male (9) Female (13)

Taraba – Male (3) Female (11)

Yobe – Male (2) Female (27)

Zamfara – Male (4) Female (2)

The six states that scored above 50 per cent in the 2015 West African Senior School Certificate of Education were: Abia (63.94%), Anambra (61.18%), Edo (61.05%), Rivers (55.69%), and Imo (52.49%). The states that scored below 13 percent in the same examination were Kebbi (12.08%), Katsina (10.81%), Gombe (7.41%), Jigawa (6.37%), Zamfara (6.23%), Yobe (4.37%).

These are verifiable results that have remained virtually the same for decades. And they give an idea of the number of candidates that are involved in education from each state and zone, as well as their academic performance.

The point of this essay is not that it is only the Igbo that excel in many sectors. Other ethnic groups, especially from the South, also excel. But the focus of this essay is the Igbo. From the attitude of other ethnic groups, it seems that they are comfortable with the status quo. If not, they should not be focusing on the Igbo as their problem.

The call for restructuring of the country has been promoted as the solution to Nigeria’s problem. However, there are strong forces that are hell-bent on ensuring that the restructuring of the country will never succeed. They have been erroneously schooled that restructuring will impoverish them.

The danger in this hard line against restructuring is that if restructuring fails, the alternative may not be palatable.

Nigeria has moved in a self-destructive path for long.
Nigeria has been wallowing in retrogression for long because some stakeholders are afraid that pulling it out and setting it on the path of progress will cost them their feeding bottle. But nothing lasts forever.

Last time, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, met his seemingly impossible bail conditions within 48 hours. When the bail conditions were made public, the belief of many was that no serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would want to associate with him.

But the South-East caucus of the Senate met and quickly chose one of them to stand bail for him. All other conditions were also swiftly met.

If those conditions were given in December 2015, no Nigerian Senator would have wanted to be associated with Kanu.

But Since his coming into office, Buhari has continued to display a type of croynism and prebendalism that has never been witnessed in Nigeria. And the worst beneficiaries of this are the Igbo.

He has been making it clear by his words and actions that the North and the Igbo are not equal partners in the Nigerian project.

He has been distributing Nigerian resources and appointments to his kinsmen and region as if they are his personal property and This brazen nepotism has made even the fiercest Igbo critics of Kanu’s call for secession to develop sympathies for Kanu.

Nigerians must decide what they want from the Igbo. It is either they want the Igbo in Nigeria as full citizens or they want them out as non-citizens.
Why must you chose to kill them all instead of letting them go alife.

As the English say, Nigerians can’t eat their cake and still have it..

His public delivery summarizes the shameful quality of Muhammadu Buhari’s Government and the quality of personnel presently running the affairs of Nigeria.

Bashir Magashi, the Defence Minister ploughed through a prepared speech like someone who never sat in a classroom. He read as one never tutored in basic grammar. He mispronounced simple words like “loss”, “bereaved” and muddled tenses like an unschooled clown in a farcical theatre.

Even Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo, alias 4.30, in his TV Set of the New Masquerade fame, couldn’t put up a public display of such inanity and illiteracy. He made sure to abuse the living and the dead in his graveside speech when he expressed his “heartless felt condolences” to Nigerians.

You will of course worry as everyone should, that this man has the charge of managing the war against the dreaded Boko Haram in the Northeast. And you will ask: is this the quality of mind that he brings to the job of Defence Minister in a 21st century Nigeria? A man who cannot read a speech prepared for him by subordinates?

And is the man making this ridiculous and farcical speech truly a retired general of the Nigerian Army? How did he pass his promotional tests and examinations to rise to the rank of general and in what language were the exams written?

Defence matters in the modern world is a purely technical and technology driven engagement. How does this man who cannot pronounce “professionalism” understand missile and propulsion technology, how does he understand the trajectory of different weapons systems? How do you make this man understand possible military formations in an asymmetric war like the one we are fighting in the Northeast?

Does this man represent Nigeria to discuss defence issues or negotiate defence Contracts with foreign powers and corporations? In what language does he do that and how do you make him understand the technicalities of weapons and of modern warfare?

From this shameful public display by the Defence Minister, it is obvious why Nigeria is losing the war against Boko Haram. The quality of mind supervising the effort does not match the present sophistication, agility and brutality of the terrorists. And the superior mind will always win.

Please imagine and do get scared that this is the quality of persons on whom you trust the lives of fighting men and women of the Nigerian armed forces. You now begin to understand why the Northeast has become a killing field spewed with the blood of our soldiers. You come to understand why unlike other armies, the Nigerian Armed Forces do not publish casualty figures for the ongoing war in the Northeast against Boko Haram.

It is evident now that the fight against the terrorists of Boko Haram, Ansaru and ISWAP is a hopeless enterprise, that we are outmatched by illiterate bandits on the loose and it’s about time we negotiate an honorable exit for our forces.

Muhammadu Buhari and the North believe that Magashi's level of proficiency and knowledge is enough to head the national effort to defeat the terrorists but we the people of Nigeria know that it’s not true, that no matter the weaponry you acquire or the number of men you send to battle, as long as the effort is managed by Bashir Magashi and other people like him and of the same mental aptitude, Nigeria will be worsted in the end. The world, including Nigeria and the military challenges confronting her, has moved far ahead of the quality of mind presented by Bashir Magashi.

It has always been that the interests of the Norths is to impose its backwardness on the rest of Nigeria.

INJUSTICE OF OIL ALLOCATION IN NIGERIA (1)

North Central receives 20%;
CONTRIBUTES 0.00%.
North East receives 16%;
CONTRIBUTES 0.00%.
North West receives 21%;
CONTRIBUTES 0.00%.
Every month, the 19 Northern states receive a minimum of 57% of 100% of oil revenue to which they CONTRIBUTE 0.00%.

South West receives 16%;
CONTRIBUTES 3.97%.

South East receives 11.00%;
CONTRIBUTES 25.07%.

South South receives 15.00%;
CONTRIBUTES 70.64%.

More facts...
LGAs in NIGERIA:
Nigeria has 774 LGAs.
The North has 19 states, and the 19 states have 419 LGAs.

The South has 17 states, and the 17 states have 357 LGAs.

Working with the data from the office of the Accountant General as published by the Ministry of Finance (2013 April), the 357 LGAs of the 17 southern states receive 45.1% of what they contribute is 100%.

The 419 LGAs of the 19 Northern states receive 54.9% of what they contribute is 0.00%.
So those hoping for a hopeless hope for restructuring should wake up. The north will Never allow restructuring because they know that they can't survive in a level playing ground.
Let me stop here for now .....alot on my mind.

Now you see that the north is seriously draining and stifling the development of the south?

One Nigeria is the biggest fraud ever and MUST end.

What the people of Nigeria need is a referendum to end this evil contraption called Nigeria and an emergence of the stifled nations within.

We CAN NOT be silent about it. He that is silent in the days of the adversity of the oppressed, is more guilty and has taken the side of the oppressor.
