The police is meant to serve them( VIP) in terms of security and not to be doing boy boy to those people

The Nigeria Police Force Headquarters on Wednesday warned its operatives attached to Very Important Persons all over the country to stop serving purposes other than protecting prominent individuals from security threats.

The police authorities in Abuja also said it was probing the viral video showing a policeman carrying the food tray of a VIP at an event in Kwara State.

Acting Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a chat with The PUNCH on Wednesday, said the unnamed police officer had been identified and summoned to Abuja.
Adejobi said, “He (the policeman) has been identified. He is coming to Abuja to meet us. We’ll ask question from him and take necessary action. We need to discourage such a thing because it is embarrassing the image of the Force and we can’t continue to be experiencing that kind of a thing because it is highly unprofessional.”

The acting FPRO, however, did not reveal the name of the officer and the identity of the VIP.
In the viral video obtained by The PUNCH, the policeman attached to the female VIP based in Kwara was seen meticulously carrying a tray crowded with food behind the “big madam” at a society function.

Many Nigerians have been outraged by the act, noting that the presence of the police officer and the “maid” duties he assumed at the party with the VIP defeated the purpose of attaching orderlies to prominent persons.
With the worsening security challenges ubiquitous in different parts of the country of late, many security experts have canvassed that police officers attached to VIPs be withdrawn and deployed in hotspots to complement the shrinking 300,000 police officers nationwide but the police authorities have defiantly refused to act.

Over the years, successive Inspector-General of Police had ordered the withdrawal of police officers attached to VIPs scattered across the country but the directive had only existed on paper as policemen have been seen carrying bags of VIPs, opening the doors of their cars with matching salutes.

Just last week, a policeman, Sergeant Adeleke Ogunsola, died after being hit by an unnamed driver of a former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel.

The incident happened at Daniel’s Asoludero residence at Sagamu in Ogun, even as cops expressed sadness that Ogunsola, an orderly, was turned to a gatekeeper at the house.

PASTOR ADEBOYE'S HUMILITY NOT ALTERED BY HIS MANY ACHIEVEMENTS - OSINBAJO

As Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) clocks 80, a unique lesson for all and sundry remains his humility, integrity and exemplary behaviour despite his huge achievements, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

In a tribute, he personally signed on behalf of himself and his wife, Prof. Osinbajo said the leader of the RCCG (a church with representation in over 198 countries and territories around the world) has impacted many lives and overseen unprecedent growth of the church, yet these achievements have not affected his behaviour.

Below is the tribute verbatim, signed by the Vice President:

Dolapo and I are honoured to write this tribute to Daddy on his 80th Birthday.

Very few leaders will ever have the geographical and spiritual reach of influence that Pastor E.A. Adeboye has. He is neither the Pope nor the leader of the free world, but he heads a denomination that, since his assumption of office as its General Overseer, has established churches in over 198 countries and territories of the world.

He was, as early as 2008, listed by Newsweek, as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Earlier in 1998, the Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Lekki, Lagos, was reported to be one of the largest Christian gatherings ever, and every year, the RCCG Conventions and Congresses have live crowds breaking that record. Through the years, miracles of every kind have been commonplace in his ministry.

But the moral of the story is not in these achievements, but in how his behaviour has remained unaffected by them.

It was Mummy G.O. who said to us once, “see how God uses your father as a smokescreen to do the miracles He wants to do.”

This realization, that “apart from Him, you can do nothing” and that “no one can receive anything that is not given to him by God,” probably explains why a man so spiritually and intellectually gifted, so revered, so respected by the high and low alike, would still be so genuinely humble, so self-effacing and so unfailingly respectful, even of his subordinates.

His impeccable integrity, his measured speech and action at all times, his life of many challenges, many wars, his courage, his unshaken faith, his deep love for God, through phenomenal achievements and numbing personal tragedy, are all together the most persuasive evangelical message to all, even those of other faiths, of the grace and mercy of God in the life of the Saved.

For us, we are extremely proud that this man of extraordinary faith, courage and humility is one we can call our daddy.
