Kunfu:A very big congratulations. It can only be God almighty |
I did not submit an English Language Proficiency test result in my application. But I was assessed and certified by the regulatory authority of my profession in Canada to having met the level of English Language required to function in my job in Canada Pweety3333: |
Kindyl:Congratulations! Please share your timeline |
No update yet. It is now 8weeks since my Close work permit application was submitted to IRCC Pweety3333: |
Kunfu:Nobody has an update on close work permits? |
Very very true and exact. It cannot be said louder and clearer than this. For those seeking a closed (Employer specific) work permit, your chances are only better if you are highly skilled, knowledged and experienced in a field that is in demand and the Canadian populace are unable to fill. The only low skilled jobs that they offer foreigners is SAWP (Seasonal Agricultural Work Permit). Which is restricted to citizens of Mexico and the Caribbean countries babakb: |
Yes I saw it on the IRCC website. It should take much less for jobs in or in direct support of health services. The last foreign worker recruited by the company a year ago for the same job, had his work permit processing completed in 2weeks. He is not from Nigeria, but from another country in Africa whose TRV processing time is even longer than that of Nigeria. Infact, he told me that as at the time of submitting his WP application, the IRCC website was estimating a processing time of 16weeks but he got his WP in 2weeks. Pweety3333: |
Who knows how long it takes to process a closed work permit for health services workers? WP application was submitted on 16th July 2024. I already have my biometrics on file when I applied for my first canada visa in 2020. So I guess the biometrics is still valid okfranko: |

Good morning house. I submitted my passport to vfs Abuja on Friday 16th June for visa stamping as requested. Unfortunately, I now needed my passport for an emergency trip outside Nigeria on Friday 23rd June. Is it possible for my passport to be ready for collection by Thursday 22nd June. Or do I go ahead and withdraw my passport from vfs immediately. Please kindly advise accordingly |
