|
chillex8:Leemaooo |
Please has anyone gotten activated on the Ocar platform via their lekki office? Need to be sure the place is operational. |
tojahh:Lol! Exactly what I was going to say when I was reading the post.. I've learnt this since like 2013 when those dudes blocked me for same kinda offence on ikeja along.. Funny enough I only parted with 2k then but since then omo if drivers ain't nice enough to let me in on any road and I know say Lastma guys dey na to blow straight find way reconnect for front ![]() |
Freshprince91:U got it wrong...It means 15 hours minimum online...The bonus is all yours if u can complete 4 trips b4 9PM tonight |
bot101:Cars 45 is strictly for Uber while Autogenius is strictly for Bolt(Taxify)...Not all centers open on public holidays but definitely centers will. |
dru23:@boldened very true... I remember when BIGI came into the market with 60cl bottles... Coke, Pepsi ET AL had to follow suite cos they obviously must have recorded a dwindle in sales then with their 50cl PEP bottles. Theeen all of a sudden Coca-Cola stupidly changed tactics and pegged RRP for their 60cl bottles at 150 naira while the 35cl bottles were sold for 100 naira...LOL! with BIGI still selling their wide variety of drinks at 100 naira those guys kept cashing out as we all know the average Nigerian wants to have more for less. Not like cocacola products weren't still selling though but their poor decisions gave their major competitor-BIGI a chance to soar. Just last week I started seeing these coke fanta and sprite 50cl bottles being sold at 100 naira again. Even though it's still 10cl short of what BIGI(that has won numerous Nigerian hearts) is offering, it only goes to show that "dem no dey tell person". As you've rightly said if Bolt wants to comfortably dominate the Nigerian market, now is the time to reduce their commission fee to 15% or even less and it's a done deal. And even if Bolt chooses not to make changes, When partners start ditching UBER massively or only go online at times of surge as someone earlier suggested, I'm sure UBER'll give this their silly move a rethink swiftly. But the question is ARE NIGERIANS READY? |
Dbossmanager: Uber will revert it if drivers stop taking trips on their platform...Drivers should only do surge trips on uber....log off on uber especially at busy hours to create surge...when riders start paying double...they will run.. Some hardworking drivers will complete that 30 trips within 2 days sha...but people like us that go online on the side cant even do 20 not to talk of 30...I run the 15 trips to Saturday sef...haven't gone online since the 20...now 30... Drivers have the power if only they know how to use it.... Eizenburg:That's the post I responded to up there...Did u notice the boldened? Take it easy sir. |
Dbossmanager:Honestly!... Not making sense at all.. |
brogxy:Why did u say that though? Did you have any funny experience lately? |
Taymi:Always be attentive when you end a trip on Uber. The total amount in cash you're to collect from the rider stays on the screen until you swipe "complete ride" or so cos afterwards what uber shows you is your earning from that trip on your earnings dashboard and there's no other way you can really determine how much the rider is to hand over to you except they show you their phone (I hope you know the dubious ones would not show you) This is very important to note because riders who don't have their debit cards connected to their Uber account may have carry-over payments (from previous trips with other drivers) to make and Uber is only able to receive that money through the next driver (you). For instance a short trip from admiralty way to somewhere else on admiralty way should never exceed 1,000 naira but if u end the trip and your driver app tells you "driver owes 2,700" my guy collect the money complete oh cos it's most likely a carry over payment on the riders part. So if you don't pay attention after tapping "collect cash" and go ahead to "complete ride" you may have missed the 2,700 naira and only get to see probably between 500 to 800 naira as your earning from that trip whereas Uber thinks you've collected 2,700 and minuses it from your subsequent earnings which you may never understand how it happened. |
nitigriti:Haha I thought u were with me until u said: It is the ethical thing not to do.[/quote]Fam I'm not here to start another "moral/na me holy pass drama" though as the recent ones unnecessarily and annoyingly dragged for too long when those who brought it up started digressing. At least I'm a driver partner myself so I'm not here to form bad guy. I know this thread was created for Uber/Bolt driver partners to share their experiences/challenges on the job but it shouldn't always end there. Let's always put ourselves in check when we see the next man doing something improper as that's the only way this country would be a better place someday. I only felt the need to react to that user's contribution because he said he "picked the money, hurried into his car and zoomed off" without caring to know if the rightful owner had been somewhere around looking for the money (assuming the money wasn't his). The average Nigerian blames Buhari for EVERYTHING currently wrong with this country yet the average Nigerian is a more horrible "Buhari" in the community they live, at their place of work, church/mosque ETC. Do you know most local government chairmen frown at residents/resident associations that try to fix damaged roads? You know why? Because they spend less than half the amount allocated for these community road repairs so when you fix the road and they are unable to make demands to higher authority how do they embezzle? The average policeman despite being paid salary on time still goes about harassing and extorting innocent Nigerians. I recently heard of a case where a doctor in a public hospital referred a patient to a private hospital because he claimed they couldn't handle the case there (in the public hospital) .At the end of the day, that same doctor was the one to handle that patient's case and the private hospital actually belongs to him. We all know of the 999 other ways Nigerians aren't doing what's right but they keep blaming "the government". WE ARE ALL THE GOVERNMENT. About 3 weeks ago, after I dropped off a rider(female) I looked back only to realize she forgot her phone (iPhone) on the floor of the back seat. Fortunately I hadn't gone too far and immediately turned back to return it.. Na small remain make she dey roll for floor dey thank me lol. Omo let me not make this too much of an epistle and just end there cos there's so much more to say but let's just all always try to do what's right. Bless. |
confusedworld17:Going by your story the money is obviously yours but next time bro at least try to ask people around (You don't have to reveal the amount to anyone in case you come across someone claiming ownership) cos if the story was different that may have been someone's monthly salary you picked up you never know and losing it in such a manner'll have spelt doom to such a fellow. At least if you had asked around (assuming the money wasn't yours) and you were unable to locate the rightful owner u'll have had a clear conscience spending the money. My Opinion tho |
Freshprince91:Sorry for the misinformation (Forgot yesterday was Sunday). Yea those 13 trips of Sunday don't count towards the promotion for this week. A new Uber week starts by 4 AM every Monday I think. So if you did 7 trips today as you said you're 13 trips away from 3% service charge for the rest of this week till 4 AM next Monday (November 4) |
Freshprince91:The positive side is that u're halfway into the 20 trip/3% service charge target in just a day |
Luxurydriverng:This looks like a Benz...Is this the ride you use on Uber? |
Gentlelife50:LMAO... Is the road that bad bro? Damn If I may ask what car do you drive? |
Strat632:I think you may have to get off the spectranet network as its signal isn't strong enough in certain places. I once picked a rider who was using spectranet and we both had our Google Maps on but her map lost signal at least 5 times on that trip of about an hour. I use airtel though an I've barely had any issues with it in about 5 months on the job in Lagos |
