Actually, our priorities differ. In my line of work (Real estate), a top-notch phone with uninterrupted data is very essential. This is because, urgent assignments can be concluded on the phone and on-the-go. So, buying a phone of 30K is not a luxury, but a priority.

As for your building, I respect your decision, but our tastes and priorities differ. I'll rather use 30K to buy a phone that would fetch me 30M than use the money to build a house in a forgotten part of the city.
