The problem with infinix and tecno is that they use cheap MTK (Media Tek) processors and still sell the phones costly in my opinion compared to what's obtainable in China and India for example.
If you want the best of Picture in your Android phone, buy Phones with Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors.

Depending on the tecno or infinix phone, I may be able find older ones for it but it may not be stable and many functions won't work properly

I got one that worked on infinix hot 4 pro but the image quality was nothing to write home about. I abandoned the APK file

You mean flashing MIUI ROM on the phone? No it won't. It's not just a ROM thing but a processor thing. Gcam doesn't work on most mediatek processors (there are few exceptions though).
You need a recent phone with Snapdragon processor like I said previously

I use gcam 7.3 by parrot043
All I did was activate astrophotography mode and use night mode to take the picture.

Note: the phone has to be held on a tripod or allowed to rest on an object to get a better picture output.
