Bloggingscope: As a tech person (web dev) , I don't think the draws favor us again judging by the previous general draws, should I still open the express entry profile especially when CRS will be around 478 Yh it doesn't. Best thing is to enter the pool tho. Then actively work on leveraging what's currently in vogue. Getting a job in education or healthcare that's under the NOcs that are being picked. So after 6months, you'd be eligible for either health or education. Or learning french. Its all about proper positioning. Or learn french |

amnotapervert: Yes, always keep your Express Entry profile active. It doesn’t cost you anything except your language test and certificate evaluation. After that, look for ways to boost your score.
Lately, general draws have been very competitive — most CRS cutoffs in 2024–2025 were around 525–540+, sometimes even higher.
It’s rare for IRCC to invite anyone below 500 in general draws unless it’s a category draw (like French, STEM, Healthcare, or Trades).
Since You’re a Tech Person (Web Developer) That’s a good thing! IRCC has been doing STEM/Tech category draws since mid-2023.
In those draws, CRS scores are usually between 470–500, and sometimes lower.Jobs like software developers, web developers, and programmers are all included. If your NOC code is 21232 (Software Developer) or 21234 (Web Developer), you can benefit from these STEM draws.
Should You Still Create a Profile?
Yes, 100%. You can’t get invited if you’re not in the pool. Once you’re in, you’ll be considered for both general and category-based draws.
Your profile is valid for 12 months, and you can update it anytime (new IELTS, job offer, spouse’s ECA, etc.).
Even if 478 doesn’t get picked right away, you’ll still have chances through: STEM draws or Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) Or future draws if CRS cutoffs go down.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html
My little Recommendation ✅ Go ahead and create your profile. ✅ Select your NOC code carefully (must fall under STEM if possible). ✅ Keep improving your CRS (e.g. retake IELTS, get more work experience, or pursue PNP options). Your responses be legit giving off chatgpt vibes lmao |

TradeSunMoore: Thanks . I already checked it is not there yet. There is a latent period of about 48/72 hours for IRCC to update info in the tracker. It'll be there soon |

Submitted - 29th September 2025 PPR /Approval - 09 October 2025 I have biometrics till 2030. Passport submitted this morning, will revert with the length of visa issued once passport is returned. You can use the tracker to know the duration of the visa. Google ircc tracker and follow the prompts. You'll see it. |

amnotapervert: entering the pool is not the problem
But in a competitive PR draw with high CRS cut-off, one year does not give maximum foreign work experience points Im aware |

amnotapervert: Interesting, we learn every day. But the housemanship is added to the remaining 2 years, making it 3 years of foreign work experience, I believe — not just housemanship alone. If its only housemanship one has done. That's a year already. Enough to enter the pool. |

Vasiline: Hello everyone, I’m a 23-year-old male. I just finished my final exams in Mass Communication a few weeks ago, and I’m looking to relocate to Canada. My goal is to eventually get Permanent Residency (PR) through Express Entry, but I’m very confused because of information overload.
Here’s my current situation: Degree: Mass Communication (just completed, no work experience yet) Age: 23 No job experience so far Interested in Express Entry / PR pathways Considering learning French, but Alliance Française classes are expensive—so I want to know if it’s really worth it. I’m not sure if I should first gain work experience, learn new skills, or even get another degree to improve my chances.
My questions are: What is the best pathway for someone like me (a fresh graduate with no experience)? Do I need to gain work experience first before applying? Is learning French a guaranteed way to improve my chances, or should I invest my time and money elsewhere? Are there specific skills, certifications, or further degrees that would increase my chances for PR or jobs in Canada? What practical steps should I start taking now?
I’m new here and honestly confused, so I’d really appreciate any guidance or advice. Thank you. You need at least 1 year of work experience to be eligible to enter the pool Getting a masters increases your CRS scores Learning French increases your CRS score. Read up page 1 properly |

ilovelearning: Greetings,
I completed my biometrics last November in Canada and have a valid Canadian visitor visa. My account shows that my biometrics are valid for 10 years.
However, I received an update from IRCC on Saturday afternoon, and when I checked my PR application summary, I noticed that my previous biometrics details (from my visitor visa) are now showing there. But I haven’t received any new BIL for my current PR application.
Has anyone else experienced this? Was your PR application summary updated before receiving the new BIL, or did they use your previous biometrics? Its normal. You'd still get another BIL Visit visa biometrics isn't used for PR |

amnotapervert: So after completing your housemanship (internship), once you have one full year of independent practice or equivalent work experience, you’ll meet the minimum requirement.
⚠️ Note: Housemanship (internship) may not always be accepted as valid skilled work experience for immigration purposes since it’s sometimes classified as training, not independent work. IRCC usually counts post-licensure practice Lots of people have used housemanship as part of their work experiences and got PR. |

pxjosh: I have a friend with a CRS score of 475 who should have received an ITA in the last FSW draw targeting healthcare practitioners (Draw #362 – August 19) and for some very strange reasons, It never came.
I personally reviewed her profile - her NOC was listed among the occupations (pharmacist), her proof of funds was well above the requirement, and everything else checks out.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I looked through Reddit but couldn’t find a case exactly like this. Could this be a system glitch? Confirm that she transmitted her profile. If she did, contact IRCC asap |

Mildred25: She needs to check the Noc required for health care properly, I don't think pharmacists are being drawn but pharmacist assistants, research it properly .
Check page 660 Pharmacists are drawn. |

Bifobas09: Good day everyone. Please it’s my first time write here, I’m a German citizen but for the past three months I’ve been living and working here in Paris France. I have been researching on the best possible way to migrate to Canada so I will be able to petition for my boyfriend who currently resides in Nigeria and it’s seems the express entry route is my best belt. I currently hold a bsc, msc and almost done ( just my final defense) phd in public health, and currently works as a junior researcher ( public health scientist) with over 5 yrs working experience and I’m 32yrs old. I don’t really understand how the points are been calculated and I just wrote my TEF exams few days ago. Attached are my tef results and I really don’t know if it’s ok to go with. Please pardon me for the typos Start from page 1 of this thread. Has everything you need. |

daddychula22: Thanks, I got the UCI number and Can i have ideal how much it will cost to order the GCMS? With the uci number, open an acct with the ircc tracking portal. You'd need access to the email that was used for the application tho. Cos they'd send a verification number to the mail. Once you get that, you can see what the state of the application is. |

Candybright: If there's no option for "other" choose the slightest closest option relating to what you do. There will be another section to describe what you do although you may not be able to write much. Also in your letter, you can adequately talk about your job. Which letter are you referring to? |
