"SAY NO TO MEDIA CAMPAIGN AGAINST AKARIGBO"

[The text of a press conference delivered by the executive coordinator of NYCN Sagamu Branch to address the sponsored media attacks, fake news and propaganda against Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi - Torungbuwa II (Ilufemiloye 1), EADER FCA, The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land].

Good morning and special respect to everyone that graced this press conference and solidarity gathering tagged "SAY NO TO MEDIA CAMPAIGN AGAINST AKARIGBO OF REMO LAND", organized by the leadership and stakeholders of NYCN SAGAMU LOCAL GOVERNMENT BRANCH in solidarity and support of our eminent and distinguished Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi FCA (The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Kingdom).

Greatest Sagamites, you will recalled that few days back, the entire social media were flooded with online videos credited from the stable of "Koiki Media", which was anchored by one of their media presenters and another one in courtesy of anchors by one Otunba Jamiu, based in Canada. The anchors of these videos alleged that the Akarigbo of Remoland ordered the Police to shoot and to arrest the participant of the awareness campaign organized by a group of Yoruba Nation Agitators in Sagamu on last Friday, April 16th 2021.

In the video allegations, it was also alleged that the Akarigbo had collected money from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disrupt the activities of the Agitators. They as well alleged that Kabiyesi Akarigbo chased them out of his Palace and did not give them audience when they visited the palace and many other watery allegations.

Greatest Sagamites and distinguished gentlemen of the press, it is important to note at this point, that these allegations are watery, unfounded and have no element of truth, as it is full of mischief and cheap propaganda coming from children of no moral values in order to get public sympathy for their naive and unprogressive agenda. We have no choice than to describe them as the real enemies of the Yoruba race.

Let me also state categorically clear without mincing words the following:

1. It is a cooked fallacy that Oba Akarigbo did not give the Yoruba nation agitators audience at his Palace: the truth is that Oba Adewale Ajayi was out of the country two weeks ago and yet to return.
So how can someone who is out of the town when you visited deny you audience or physical attention?

2. It is an absolute lie of the century to say that the Akarigbo ordered the police to arrest or shoot the agitators or protesters. We challenge them to come out with proofs via the same medium.

3. It is a great insult on the good people of Remoland for anyone to alleged that our own Akarigbo collected money from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu or any man or a woman to disrupt the activities and the event of these naïve and ignorant blackmailers. This is a blackmail taken too far! In fact there was a peaceful process of the event monitored by the police throughout the town: yet to understand the pleasure of the blackmail.

In line with the above, I stand to say on behalf of the entire youth of Sagamu home and diaspora, that those who are behind this media campaigns and attacks against Kabiyesi Allayeluwa, the Alase Ikeji Orisa of Remoland, are the true bastards of Yorubaland. I suggest that their DNA should be put to test and we may be shocked at the results.

On this note, we call on Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho, to publicly disassociate himself and his Yoruba nation agenda from some bastards and children of failed parental background, whose actions and attitudes does not portrays that of OMOLUWABI expected from a responsible Yoruba child, as we shall no longer tolerate any act of disrespect and disregards on our Royal Institutions in Remoland. We also demand a public apology in this regards.

We strongly believe that Chief Sunday Adeyemo, Igboho will endeavor to enlighten and educate these deviant agitators on the menace and traditional consequences of spreading or sponsoring fake news, blackmail and cheap lies against the Royal fathers.

Let it be known and told as well, that the Akarigbo of Remo is the traditional custodian and voice of the “gods of Remoland. It is well known fact that no responsible Yoruba son or daughter will open his or her mouth to say unpleasant words, abuse or throw banters on our Royal fathers, who coincidentally are the second in command to the gods of the land. No wonder that many of this blackmailers don’t do well in their various endeavors.

Finally, I want to appeal and implore all the good people of Sagamu, most importantly the youths, to please remain calm and be law abiding. The Remo Traditional Council and other concerned stakeholders have done the needful and will still do the necessary to address and resolve the matter.
By the special grace of God, Remoland shall continue to be great and remain the gateway for the economic development and stability of Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
