The police eventually mobilized and started tear-gassing people upandan. It was not a funny sight.

No one is asking why the police want to seize those okada bikes. The men were Northerners, and there was no record anywhere that they were robbers or involved in armed robbery.

The police along this route glory in extorting poor guys trying to eke out a living by seizing their bikes. Worst of all, the police will REFUSE to release the bikes, no matter how much you plead or offer. The cops then sell those bikes to the highest bidder somewhere else.

Once your bike is seized by the police, just wave goodbye to it, because you will never set your eyes on it again. Just get a new bike. That has been the norm in this area for a few years now.

Listen if you sell me a phone for 2 million naira you have to be able to guarantee that you will not create another phone for 3 years so as to maintain the value of my expensive stock and give me time to enjoy it and bask in the ambiance. This is exactly what I told someone the other day. Phone companies should not be allowed to be dishing out phones every 3 months...and render the most recent obsolete.

Instead, they should focus on upgrading or updating the features of phones for like 3 years or more. They can even milk users for as long as possible, giving valuable updates in exchange for cash.

Meanwhile, the company will have time for research in order to create the next powerful device. Two or three years should be enough.

Then, create a new phone. By that time, users of the old devices may have gotten tired of them and may decide to go for the new options.
