@saharachic, what do you think about this write up, it might answer your question:

Forwarded as Received.
I was in conversation with a United Nation official yesterday and we were talking about the acquisition of warships by ethnic militant Tompolo, in a country were our brave soldiers are being starved off equipments. He told me point blank that in every major conflict he has assessed or being involved in as a UN official it all started with one fellow choosing to ARM an ETHNIC MILITIA as against the national army of the country, sometimes deliberately depleting the army before the violence starts.

I first got reports of Niger Delta militant Asari Dokubo buying military helicopters and hardware from diplomatic intelligence sources about 2 years ago. Shortly after that he was arrested in Benin Republic but released upon the intervention of our government. What I can see is very clear, JONATHAN is leading an effort to create an alternate military force in the Niger Delta to force the hands of the generality of NIGERIANS when the time comes. How else can one explain Tompolo a man once declared wanted for killing our soldiers now effectively taking over the duties of our navy?

Where is all the money coming from? Do you think the arms are being bought for boat parade or regatta? No they are to kill NIGERIANS. JONATHAN has never been able to rise to fill the position of the NIGERIAN Presidency, he acts like an ethnic warlord and at the rate he is going he is going to push us into the path of Liberia and Sierra Leone, while silly people are busy cheering him on. I have taken it upon myself to write a letter of complaint and warning to the United Nations Secretary General to pay attention to what JONATHAN and his cohorts are doing in Nigeria, seemingly pushing the country closer to a violent ethnic crisis. This crisis would consume the entire African continent if not checked.

This morning I received this in my inbox, and I couldn't help but shudder that we are dealing with really devious human beings who have mistakenly found themselves in power. Their attitude and body language says it all:

"I'm really amused that we are all screaming murder years after the deed was done? It's well over 3 years that I have been screaming the overall plans and strategies of the south-south vs the behemoth Nigeria, i.e, their eventual emancipation! For the sake of many who have not read or few who have taken these posts as scare mongering by Oyenuga Lanre Paul, I'll re summarise them here. To free their region of the shackles of endless exploitation and domination by the rest of Nigeria, the south-south decided as follow: 1). Cripple the Nigerian Army's capacities to engage in sustained warfare: thus the encouragement of BH and decimation of the army's hardware and personnel. 2). Ensure Nigeria is economically destitute and unable to spend on warfare: thus the unprecedented looting of the treasury, resulting in our current vulnerability. Okonjo Iweala is not 'coordinating' for nothing. 3rd is the military takeover of our coastal waters by the south-south, which is what the coastal waterways protection contract with Government Tompolo was designed to guarantee. Let no one be deceived, less than 0.5% of our military, (including naval and air force) personnel can swim in an 8 foot deep pool, not to mention a river or coastal waters. Thus, how do you engage these toughened militia in their coastal waters, when we couldn't tackle BH in plain view? 4th is the intense frustrations of the oil producing companies by the south-southerners nouveau-riche to hand over the onshore production bases to them by forced sale or outright disruption of their operations. As we chat here, 70% of the onshore operations have been sold off by the major players like shell, Mobil, etc.
As well as the training of ex militants as pilots under amnesty
Anyone doubting my claims of warning about these can browse through my timeline. IF THE SOUTH-SOUTH PULLS OUT TODAY, WE ARE SITTING DUCKS! The South-East are tagging along with the south-south, for obvious reasons and I don't blame them!
The choice of Buhari is due to these calculations by our rulers in the South-West and the core North. Unless I'm paranoid, we have a scary situation ahead. I moved my family out as far back as 2011, based on this concerns. GEJ will very likely lose the elections in 2015, but the south-south will keep their oil. Can we afford a war with a region sitting on oil? Do we have a military capable of delivering our goal? Would it not be cheaper to renegotiate our federation? Or, would it be another Rehoboamic declaration of "To your tents o Israel"? GEJ ain't clueless, he's merely troubled by the plots he's a key player in Viva Le Nigeria!" Ajagzy Okunrin Ogun..

Romance / Re: Does A Beautiful Wife Really Matter In A Long Run? by olamega(m): 9:02am On Jan 09, 2015
sexyseun:
To all those saying marrying a beautiful wife secures d face of ur future baby is so false. If d gene of d handsome man is strong they will still produce beautiful baby and moreover some kids take d gene of their grandparents. I think compatibility should come first. I realised when you really like someone, d face of dat person becomes naturbally attractive
You've said it all sexyseun, Compatibility is the most important thing, lemme give two examples: I have a friend who's getting married in April, his fiancee had an accident that affected her face somehow, but here what he said "thank God I didn't choose this girl because of her facial beauty, otherwise I would've been discouraged" I was greatly impressed. The guy is a medical Doctor with a lot of charisma, so ladies flock around him quite well.
Secondly, my parents are both fair complexioned. But surprisingly out of the five of us only my sister is fair complexioned (very 'yellow'), the rest of us are chocolate, we took after our paternal grand father, who is known to have vvery strong gene.

Car Talk / Re: Have You Ever Driven With Google Maps In Nigeria? by olamega(m): 8:32pm On Jan 04, 2015
abatically:

Here maps is great, but u can't really judge if u haven't used others. I have here maps on my Nokia lumia, works great. I also have google maps and sygic on my android and I can tell u nothing beats sygic when it comes to navigation. You don't need internet connection at all. Where here maps fail is lack of POI's, like if u are trying to locate a particular hostpital, just type the name and sygic will direct u to the closest one based on ur location without needing internet connection.
U are saying here maps has voice navigation, my friend voice navigation is standard on every GPS, google and sygic has voice navigation that even calls street names. Sygic will give u alternative routes which here and google doesn't have.
I've not use sygic, but i'm well conversant with goolgemap. You said voice nav is standard, yes, but the limtation with google is that you must have internet.
about alternative routes, i think you need to be more conversant with the settings on ur heremap, because it is one of the things i enjoy most.
now another interesting thing about heremap is that if you dont know a place and you've never been there before, i only need to send the location to you, then you just open it on ur nokia phone and that's all. Let me give you two practical examples from my experience, the first time i entered kano, years back, i didn't know my way around, but a friend sent me locations from his nokia phone which i saved and i move around with confidence like i've been there for years. secondly, i wanted to travel to Dubai last year and i didnt want to have problem finding my way around, all i did was to download the map before leaving nigeria, and when i got there with my friends i became like a "superstar" . cos i was the one showing them ways, without stress.

Think Nigerians, think! What evidence of PDP/GEJ's desperation can one point to other than this? Saying Buhari is not educated up to Senior Certificate level is like saying Wole Soyinka is not a Professor! Or how can any right-thinking Nigerian say that a man who is a retired General; attended d NDA in Kaduna, Aldershot and Borden in England,Army college in the US and has contested thrice, has not been educated to the level of School Certificate?
Car Talk / Re: Have You Ever Driven With Google Maps In Nigeria? by olamega(m): 10:46pm On Jan 03, 2015
I think you guys need to understand that we are in Nigeria. So no matter how good Google map and others seem to be, the best one for us is the Nokia Map, or as we have it now the Here Map. It is the only map that you can successfully download on your device and use it anytime anywhere without needing to go online, it gives you full navigation support, unlike someone said that he/she lost attention and almost hit a car, that will hardly happen with me because the voice nav on my nokia/here map is enough to direct you, you hear things like : "take the 2nd exit at the next roundabout", after 150 meters take a right turn to Ahmadu Bello way, etc.
I have google map on my android and HereMap on my Nokia Lumia, but for convenience i use the nokia more. it is so sweet that you can just look for an address online, copy it and paste in the map, then Bingo! you're good to go.
Another advantage is that if you go somewhere you've never been before all you need to do is to save the location and name it as you like, and you don't have to ask anybody for direction when next you are going there, cos from anywhere you are in the world you can locate the place . It makes me feel like a King of the road whenever I'm going to an unknown place, esp with friends.
Politics / Re: Electricity Generation: Nigeria 4th In Africa, 70th In The World. by olamega(m): 9:39pm On Jan 03, 2015
we have a serious problem in this country or may i say on nairaland! People (so called educated), just take information Hook, Line and Sinker, without crosschecking, reading well, even when you have an hyperlink connected to an information. there are a few things to note here:
1: The information is not current, it is 2012
2: What gives an idea of the reality on ground is the per capita figures, cos its relative to what individuals in the population gets as the actual supply. now look at this you'll see that Nigeria is ONE OF THE WORST IN THE WORLD.
We are among the LEAST.

Sometimes I wonder the kind of Technology that makes BMWs different from other cars, esp. when it comes to performance. a friend first asked me this question, and then again I have to ask the question again. Now lemme share my latest experience with you. I have this close friend of mine, he launched a brand new Toyota Corolla (1.8L)2013 model last year . Now he knows about my bmw but he always joke about challenging me on a race and dusting me.....one of his motivation is that his car is brand new , and especially since it comes with the Toyota VVTI technology, more over he is a very crazy, skilled driver. So to cut the long story short na so we enter road o (Kano-Zaria), we're just about half way into the journey when we pulled over at a filling station. Guess what he said? "what kind of car is this?" that he has almost blew up his engine trying to catch up with me, why because he pushed the car to the limit so much that whenever he reaches 200km/h, he notices that the tachometer has almost revved into the red zone, so he said "bros abeg i surrender", but you know the crazy part? I was smiling when my colleague sitting on the passenger's sit looked at me and was like "is that so or he is lying"? "i never knew we entered 200km/h, cos the car was dead stable" and we were chatting all along! But seriously I was impressed myself, cos each time I look at the mirror i feel like "why can't this guy catch up and even dust me? and guess what guys? this is a 2000 model e46 1.8L

About 3 years ago, I picked up an elderly man, when I was about dropping him he told me thus: "young man, May I know why you decided to help me?" And he continued by saying: " you see, we live in a dangerous world where you have to be very careful, I can see you're young and this car is a new one. Be careful of picking strangers on the road, you never can tell who is good or who will harm you. Things happen!"
He finished and alighted, I thanked him was dumb founded for a while.
So for all the "doubting Thomases" , it's better to be safe than to be sorry.

330xi ? Wow!!! this is a crazy machine you've got, brother if you're a traveller like me, then you'll be "the king of the road".
This beast does 0-100km in 6.9 secs, and being an xi then you have the advantage of all wheel drive which means faster take off, less traction problem and more confidence in off road situations.

I left Kano kinda late but wallahi I was surprised to discover that i did the whole journey in about 3 hours, and the strange thing is that the car didn't seem stressed at all. I don't know what spirit lives inside these aggressive BMWs
Looking forward to my journey to Zaria tomorrow.

@ OP nice one. its good to know the reason and be convinced while making a decision.

Just to add to the fun is the 11 speakers the Q7 has ! You can't understand how crazy this is until you experience it, my VW jetta 2007 came with 10 speakers and damn! it was something else, you could do a party with the car's sound system, it is MAD! my younger brother did something like that back then, a pool/beach party or so.

With all said, I believe the OP should just be very sure of what he wants here. Without being biased, if I have my ways I would prefer the Q7 to the RX, I mean on a good day, just like CityNg said, you can't help but look at the Q7 with some level OF ENVY even if you're cruising the Rx. Going beyond the beauty, build quality the safety as its been mentioned is far better, in fact Q7 was rated 3rd of the safest SUVs in the world (2007), and 6th safest car (i.e. saloon, SUV, wagon......), its one of the few SUVs till date that has the safest rollover rating as an SUV, which means that you car drive it "sportly" like a car without the fear of rolling over at bends (others are Porsche Cayenne, RangeRover Sport, BMWX6...).
But to be very realistic as a nigerian, the maintenance and resale value should be taken into consideration, so I would advice you buy the RX 'jeje' , esp. if you're not a performance freak like me and like CityNG said if you can easily look away if you see the Q7 on the road. My reasons are these:
1. Maintenance: Nigerian mechs can handle toyota better than Audi/ volkswagen, especially the exotic ones, there are more of them than audi/volkswagen mechanics that know their onions. so most times when these cars gives a minor fault, the ill informed mechanics will do trial and error thereby complicating the issue, then.
2. Resale value: an average nigerian doesn't know the value of some of these "Machines" so reselling it might be a problem, cos ppl will discourage intending buyers of the fear that those cars are expensive to manage, spare parts are scarce, electrical problems....bla bla bla....

THESE THINGS I SAID ARE FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERINCE !!!
So my conclusion is this: as an average nigerian who wants i nice luxury car, just go for the RX.
