The other night I was going to eat fish, saw a woman who had just fallen from a bike and her crates of eggs had had also fallen with her into the gutter. In her early 40s she looked, she was crying and wasn't even bothered about her injuries. I came down from the cab. Asked her how much is the crates of eggs and she said 8k. Imagine someone crying like a baby because of ordinary 8k? Now wake up, that's her own reality. I had 5k cash, gave her 4k and asked if she had an account she said Yes. I told her, go to the hospital & get treatments That I'll send her something in the morning, she went down on her knees and I told her she didn't need to. Then the next day, I sent a token enough to take care of her treatments and also buy her crates of eggs back. She didn't my number and I didn't bother to take hers. Fast forward to yesterday. Then something unbelievable happened! She saw me again this time on Lagos Island, I kept hearing brother, brother. Apparently she was trying to catch up with me but because I walk fast, she was still following me. I looked back and she said, "ehn ehn" you're the one. I responded, the one who did what ma?? She narrated the story and I said "let's just keep doing good that me I've even forgotten sef. She insisted that I give her my contact this time and I did. She called me later yesterday and we talked at length. Now this is the twist to the whole story. This woman has something I have needed for years in her possession (she doesn't know the worth and also doesn't know how to go about converting it into money) This thing I am talking about is capable of making us both become relevant in a very short while. Guess what? She's willing to let go of it, I mean she's willing to hand it over to me patapata. Even though I was happy, I still made her understand that its hers, I will only help her manage it. And she can then place me on salary. We are in process, there will be updates. I'm still SHOOK I did what I did with no single, I mean no iota of expecting anything in return. I mean, I couldn't even recognize her if I'd seen her again. But look at how giving works. Look at how that very small act of kindness is about to open a very mighty door? Guys, keep doing good |
