Have you ever got chills listening to a song? Apparently that makes you quite unusual.

You might think getting goosebumps from listening to music is a relatively normal thing – but you’d be wrong.

If you get physical goosebumps and your hair stands up on end when you are moved by a piece of music, you have a rare brain structure.

Matthew Sachs, who is a student at Harvard, decided to study people who experience this phenomenon and his findings are eye-opening.

The final year student took 10 students who said they got chills from music and 10 who didn't and compared their brain scans.

He discovered that those who have a physical reaction to music actually have a different brain structure, to those who don’t.

The group who experience “chills” had more fibres connecting their auditory cortex and areas associated with emotional processing, meaning the two areas can communicate better.

“The idea being that more fibres and increased efficiency between two regions means that you have more efficient processing between them,” Matthew told Neuroscience News

‎Following the industrial action embarked upon by the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, on Monday, the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, has directed heads of federal government hospitals to ensure that all other medical doctors in the other strata are available to fill the vacuum.

The resident doctors are post graduate doctors on training at secondary and tertiary health institutions in Nigeria especially teaching hospitals.

They are also under the employment of the federal government during their residency training

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has said he will expel members of the organization who pay the Nigerian police for bail.

According to him, paying for bail was giving in to extortion and emboldening the police to continue raiding homes to abduct members of the organization.

Kanu reiterated to the people that extortion will not cease until they stopped giving in to the pressure they faced from police.

He explained that IPOB members in Anambra State in particular were at high risk of being arrested due to his declaration to boycott the upcoming November 18 election in the state.

Kanu warned while addressing his followers in Anambra: “Anybody in IPOB that gives money to the zoo police for their bail will be expelled from IPOB. The zoo police are using IPOB to make money because some people are not mentally tough enough to resist them until our dedicated legal team arrives to secure their release.

Kenya’s Supreme Court on Friday declared the results of last month’s presidential poll “invalid, null and void” and ordered the election be re-run within 60 days.

“The presidential election held on August 8 was not conducted in accordance with the constitution,” said Chief Justice David Maraga, ruling in favour of the opposition which challenged the declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner.

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has ordered all players invited for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon next week, to report to camp in Abuja by Sunday.
