Jumia delivered d phone for me too yesterday through DHL. So far I'm really impressed. It doesn't get hot like other smartphone. Very good response even with multitasking. Doesn't lag. I advise whoever is interested to get especially if you are heavy user like. |
Politics › Re: Polytechnics Vs University Students Top Debate – HND Better Than B.sc 2nd Class by Olanireti(m): 7:59am On Aug 17, 2016 |
bizme: You're such a child. You didn't just say that; you didn't just tell us you're building a mini helicopter and that would seem impossible to me? This brought to mind a funny event that took place two months ago. I attended Aare Afe Babalola's invitation to observe a young man fly coupled similar air crafts at Afe Babalola University. The media was there, Aare Afe Babalola was there and several dignitaries. Everybody was agog with excitement and amazement. And just few of us wondered aloud what the excitement was all about. The several years I lived in Europe, such crafts were usually coupled and flown by Gymnasium students (our equivalent of secondary school). Children.
There you are, you just coupled parts that you are trying to make fly and you have the audacity to claim that as an achievement? It has not even flown.
Young man...Or rather, little boy. With this your wannabe almost-be attitude you are not going to go very far. And if you do, you will end up a very bitter man because you cannot stand others beating you fair and square. And you have not even gone far. You have no more than a diploma. There are many people who have done better with their lives than you could ever achieve. You went to a Poly, I graduated with a first class from Obafemi Awolowo University. We are simply not mates. I won a Commonwealth Scholarship for a Master degree at University College London, London UK. All expenses paid including monthly stipend. And before that was over the Germany government offered me in order, a 3-month guest research grant to secure my services, followed by a three-year doctoral training grant with monthly salary and sound health package, and before that was over, two postdoctoral contracts just to keep me working with the research institute. Before that was done, Sanofi-Aventis in vitry-sur-Seine just about 300 m away from Paris invited me to take a job with them to develop a nanoparticle-based special delivery system for their new product, while Kwazulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa offered me a very tasty package to help work on some design for their HIV-AIDS drug development project. I had to turn all these down, that enough was enough, I was coming back home to contribute my quota to nation building. While in Germany I had gone to several countries for training and presentation of our work that won €20 million grant for clinical trials.
Oh yes, my work is all about translational science and it spans quantum, classical, and huger dimensions. And at the moment, there is no other person with my unique combination of skill-sets, experience, and exposure in this country. That is for a fact.
So the next time you feel your ability to cram some mathematical formalisms or couple pre-manufactured parts to make your mini helicopter qualifies you to talk down on strangers you're just meeting, take a pause and ask yourself if your recitation of memorized facts has helped anyone.
Be humble with your degree, it's just a diploma. If you're not satisfied, take direct entry to the nearest university. Have a university education doesn't mean anyone is better than you, but it sure means they are better valued by the society.
And finally, I am proud to be a Mr Lecturer. Not because I need my salary. In fact, I hardly ever notice if my salary has been paid...by God's grace I am that comfortable. Some of us take to lecturing because we are that excellent at teaching, and because we have gathered so much translational research experience that it would be waste if we fail to pass it along to the younger generation. GREAT IFE brother . CONGRATS. Finished from GREAT IFE too. This guy does not worth arguing with. |

Personally I don't think this guy really worth arguing with. He's just someone ranting his anger may be as a result of frustration the polytechnic discrimination is causing him. Mr Man, I went to a reputable Federal Polytechnic as well as a reputable Federal University in Nigeria, I can categorically tell you the difference is so clear. Are you going to talk about the level of exposure in University, calibre of lecturers, training, seminars, academic curriculum etc. Seriously I don't get, how can you be comparing Polytechnic and University? With all these ur points and rants, I doubt you can make exceptional success in university self. Here is the best way to prove ur points, get a direct entry form, get admission to very reputable University in Nigeria like Unilag, Uniben , OAU, Unilorin, UNN, FUTA, FUTMINNA etc. Come back here after u graduate, then we can talk by then. |

eliboy92: THANKS BRO, THE CORRECTION HAS BEEN EFFECTED... I can't compare my story with others because it's their field, I'm a technologist who determines components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, and carrying out experimentation using microscopic techniques and procedures. I developed the interest of writing stories March this year after reading an interesting story on net. I started writing stories 2months ago and behold I have written 3 stories so far, Why? Because I write and post immediately without editing nor substituting words, unlike a real writer who knows about literature...
So I need your corrections and critics to make me a better writer... . Are u a biochemist or into medical lab? |

Kudos to you. Not easy to be a writer. Even if na ur life story u dey write, not easy putting them together. Let alone fiction. Corrections and criticism are both part of writing. It makes you wanna get beta. So expect and respect it when ppl throw them at you. You are great bro. Following |

Have u read CONFESSION OF A ROUGH RUGGED NAIJA GUY, AN EVENING WITH EVA, ALL IN CIRCLE, THERE AND BACK ON TIME, etc? U need to read those and many more, then come back and judge ur statement. Op, kudos to u. But try to link d story line properly. OAU is in Ile-ife, not in Ibadan as u said in ur story. Following. |

I had my experience today. I didn't want to Bleep up as a first timer so I had read a lot about the seat belt. I was so anxious to board. I finally did, located my seat but didn't know how to identify mine. My seat was 16D, there was 16DEF together, i didn't know either it would be read as DEF or FED. But because I wanted to be seeing outside, na so I sat beside the window, tighten up d belt as ve read. Unfortunately for me, a man came telling me that was his seat, chai, remain how to unbuckle the belt. Na so I dey fiddle with it. The man later helped me. He knew i was a first timer. I just jejely stood up sat for my seat. I don learn sha. It was interesting and wonderful experience. May it never be my last. |
