CrimeSuspects Sell N11.5m Goods To Policeman For N3m by olanrewajulolly(op): 1:14pm On Aug 08, 2014
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly diverting goods worth
N11.5m and attempting to sell it for N3m.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi , said the suspects
─ Idowu Jimoh,42, and Emeka Godwin,21 ─ agreed to sell the goods for N3m to a
policeman who worked undercover in order to catch the suspects red-handed.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the goods, said to be Nestle PLC products worth N11m, were
loaded on a truck marked, LAGOS, LND 182 XB, which was headed for Abuja.

The police said the duo had made plans to divert and sell the goods before a police
informant alerted the command.
Adejobi explained that a police detective was detailed to work undercover and gain the
confidence of the suspects.

He said the detective managed to establish contact with Jimoh and Godwin and entered
into negotiation with them. He added that the suspects agreed to sell the goods to the
policemen for N3m.

The PPRO said, “The suspects are the driver of the truck, Idowu Jimoh of Kokale Coca Cola
Area of Ota, Ogun State, who also hails from Epe in Lagos State and the motor boy, Emeka
Godwin, who hails from the Anocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“The truck was loaded with Nestle PLC products worth 11.5m. The goods were meant for a
customer in Abuja, but the duo planned to divert it to another place to sell.

“When the police detectives heard of the plan due to our intelligence gathering, they
quickly keyed into the arrangement and a detective from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad,
Ogun State, entered into negotiation with the suspects through the help of an informant.

“The suspects agreed to sell the goods for N3m to the potential buyer (the police man)
before they were eventually arrested at Ijoga Orile. They had tactically removed the tracker
fixed on the truck so that the company would not be able to track its movement.

“The driver of the truck, Idowu, had worked in a company in Ota and was sacked for a
similar offence of stealing and diverting a truck loaded with some chemical products. He is
married with children and has even built a house.”

Adejobi said the Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, had directed SARS to carry out
a thorough investigation of the matter and get others connected with the crime.

He added that the commissioner advised firms to screen their employees and install
sophisticated vehicle trackers unlike the type which was removed by the driver.

HealthDiet Mistakes To Avoid by olanrewajulolly(op): 12:56pm On Aug 08, 2014
Ditching dairy:
Full-fat milk, cheese, and ice cream are taboo for many dieters, but ditching dairy foods
may be counterproductive. Some research suggests the body burns more fat when it gets
enough calcium and produces more fat when it’s calcium-deprived. Calcium supplements
do not appear to yield the same benefits, so dairy may have other things going for it, too.
Stick to nonfat or low-fat dairy options.

Losing track of your snacks:
Maybe you count calories at every meal, but what about all those nibbles in between?
There’s the pack of chips at your desk, the little slice of cake at a party, the taste of your
son’s ice cream cone. All of this mindless munching adds up and could sabotage an
otherwise well-planned diet. If you’re serious about counting calories, you may want to
use your smartphone or a notebook to keep track of each bite.

Setting unrealistic goals:
Telling yourself you’ll lose 20 pounds your first week is probably setting yourself up for
failure. If you know you won’t be able to do it, you may never start your diet in the first
place. If you diet and lose 5 pounds in a week, instead of celebrating, you may feel
discouraged that you didn’t reach your goal. A realistic goal is vital to successful dieting.
If you’re not sure what your goal should be, talk to a dietitian.

Weighing yourself every day:
Weighing yourself daily is a recipe for frustration and doesn’t yield useful information. It’s
more important to look for a long-term trend with weekly weigh-ins. If your goal is to lose
1 or 2 pounds a week, you’ll be satisfied to see those full-pound drops when you step on
the scale. The result is more motivating than the confusing swings that may accompany
PoliticsJudicial Workers Demand Written Undertaking To End Strike by olanrewajulolly(op): 10:24am On Aug 01, 2014
Judicial workers, whose nationwide strike has entered the third week, have demanded a written undertaking from both the federal and state governments for the implementation of a judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on the funding of the judiciary.
The President of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, Mr. Marwan Adamu, while speaking with our correspondent on Thursday, partly blamed the crisis on the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Jonah Otunla, for failing to begin implementing the judgment of the court.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola had in the said judgment ordered the Accountant-General of the Federation to deduct the funds meant for the states’ judiciary directly from the Consolidated Revenue Fund and pay it to the National Judicial Council for onward disbursement to various heads of court as provided for in the constitution.
The court had in the judgment delivered on January 13, 2014, declared as unconstitutional the piece-meal approach of funding of the state judiciary by various state governors.
JUSUN, which was the plaintiff in the case, had proceeded on the strike after state governments failed to yield to the union’s agitation for compliance with the judgment.
Adamu told our correspondent on Thursday, “Our demand is simple. JUSUN will suspend the strike if we get a cogent, concrete and presentable commitment from the government.
“We are not saying they should pay the money instantly. If for example, both the representatives of the federal and state governments say that they agree there is a court judgment and that they have not complied with it but that they need one week, two weeks or even one month to comply. That is a commitment.
“The commitment should be in a written form. It can no longer be in verbal form because we have had a number of verbal assurances which have failed. We were even given a written memorandum, which failed.”
The union leader said one of the failed verbal assurances given by the government was the promise to set up a technical committee that would consider the budgets of various states in view of plan to implement the judgment.
He added that no state government had sent any representatives to the meetings held at the instance of the Minster of Labour, Mr. Emeka Worgu, since February when discussions on the issue started.
He said the union only embarked on strike after government’s refusal to honour the 21 days ultimatum it had twice issued since February and also on the basis of the government to show enough willingness to start implementing the court order.
Blaming the Accountant-General of the Federation for the crisis, Adamu said his recent letters to the various state governors, urging them to comply with the judgment of the Federal High Court, was not the action expected of him by the court judgment.
He said, “More importantly, the Accountant-General of the Federation caused about 25 per cent of the problem. This is because the provisions of Section 162(9) of the 1999 Constitution empower him to deduct the money meant for the judiciary from the source and pay to the NJC for onward disbursement to heads of courts.
“In as much as he did not challenge the judgment, he has no moral right to disobey the order. If he deducts the money from the state governments’ funds (from the source) and any governor complains, it is for the state governors to accept it or go to court to challenge the judgment.”

TravelPresident Jonathan Launches New E-passport by olanrewajulolly(op): 1:49pm On Jul 30, 2014
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday launched Nigeria’s new 64-page e-passport with a call on Nigerians to protect the image of the country by shunning uncomplimentary statements and actions.
Jonathan launched the traveling document shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He and Vice President Namadi Sambo later took turns to be captured in order to be issued with the new traveling document.
The President said the pages of the traveling document had to be increased from 32 to 64 to cater for frequent travelers who change their passport almost every other month because of limited pages for visa.
He tasked officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service to protect the integrity of the passport by ensuring that it cannot be easily faked.
He also asked officials who man the nation’s airports to ensure that they conduct themselves in a manner that will portray the country well before visitors.
The new passport which takes effect from August 1 attracts a fee of N20,000.

My Wife DOES NOT WORK!!!

Conversation between a Husband (H) and a Psychologist (P):

H: I work as an Accountant in a Bank.

P: Your Wife?

H: She doesn't work. She's a full Housewife only.

P: Who makes breakfast for your family in the morning?

H: My Wife, because she doesn't work.

P: At what time does your wife wake up for making breakfast?

H: She wakes up at around 5 am because she cleans the house first before making breakfast.

P: How do your kids go to school?

H: My wife takes them to school, because she doesn't work.

P: After taking your kids to school, what does she do?

H: She goes to the market, then goes back home for cooking and laundry. You know, she doesn't work.

P: In the evening, after you go back home from ,office, what do you do?

H: Take rest, because i'm tired due to all day works.

P: What does your wife do then?

H: She prepares meals, serving our kids, preparing meals for me and cleaning the dishes, cleaning the house then taking kids to bed.

Whom do you think works more, from the story above?.
The daily routines of your wives commence from early morning to late night That is called 'DOESN'T WORK'??!!

Yes, Being Housewives do not need Certificate of Study, even High Position, but their ROLE/PART is very important!...
Appreciate your wives. Because their sacrifices are uncountable.

This should be a reminder and reflection for all of us to understand and appreciate each others roles....
All about a WOMAN ....
*

When she is quiet, millions of things are running in her mind.

* When she stares at you, she is wondering why she loves you so much in spite of being taken for granted.

* When she says I will stand by you, she will stand by you like a rock....
Never hurt her or take her wrong or for granted...

Forward to every woman to make her smile and to every man to make him realize a woman's worth.
