Many friends from my secondary school and university days who came from privileged homes, today are not doing upto to 10% as well as their parents did.

Many struggling to survive on their own, talk less of starting a family.

They all just seem to be floating in space and have no hopes for a decent future. We were one of the last generations to see what a "fairly" working country was like.

I am 37 by the way, and many in my generation are simply lost. Cant imagine how bad it will be for those coming behind us.

Future does not look good if this country does not make a rapid change. Birth rates are high, and a country with this level of unemployment and hopelessness among its youth is a ticking time bomb

Trump is in a very tight spot. He wants this war to end badly but doesn't seem to have many options.

His first option is to escalate further; bring down the full force of the US military on Iran, destroy Tehran and as much infrastructure as they can. But this is his most dangerous option because this war does not have popular support in the US, thousands of civilians will die, and it still does not guarantee Iran will capitulate. Perhaps even more worrying for him is that Iran has the capacity to wreak havoc in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha, Manama, Kuwait City and Muscat. His second option is to send in ground troops to capture one or two islands. The problem is not capturing the Island but keeping it. His third option is to do a ceasefire. This will most likely be more humiliating for him than the MOU, because Iran will obviously not give up the Strait of Hormuz, and they will use delay tactics to kick the nuclear issue down the road.

His fourth option is to maintain the status quo. Sustained but restrained bombing of military targets and a naval blockade, hoping it will force Iran to come to the table. However, oil prices are now high and above; with the Houthis blockading the Bab-al-Mandab Strait, prices will likely continue to go up. So, this is not a sustainable strategy.

These are all bitter pills to swallow and Trump must swallow one.
