Education / Re: Stephanie Idolor Is A Scam—man Who Visited Success’ Mom Narrates What Happened by olarge: 5:17pm On Mar 27, 2019
fx45:
Mockery or not she took the initiative to make a video out of that situation and it blew. It takes alot of creative intuition to know when to do stuff like that. What if she didn't make that video?
If you think it is beans, go and make your own video and let's watch it blow.
It blew because of Success. End of story. Had nothing to do with this fraud of a girl. She saw a child walking and murmuring her pains away and decided to make a mocking video of her. She got all the likes and comments. It's sad if anyone believes she deserves a dime.

..and if this recent narrative proves to be true she should be made to cool off in jail for a while. angry

Health / Re: Electronic Medical Records: Solution For The Nigeria Health Sector by olarge: 10:26am On Sep 18, 2017
Can I have an idea what it will cost to convert patient case notes to digital format for a hospital started in 1998.
A rough estimate will do.
Ashiodolo:
It is no longer news that we are in the information age and a fast one at that. Every sector of the economy is now an information driven sector. Information is even more critical in the health and medical sector. How can healthcare centers, hospitals, health institutions and every major player of the Nigeria health system build an indestructible, accessible and ready to use information system that is efficient and cost effective?
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) solution is a service that will most medical centres in Nigeria do not have. For instance at this time of strike, if you want to change hospital it takes time before your medical records are transferred from one hospital to another. Many Nigerians really don't care much because when the desirable is not available, the available becomes the desirable. Speaking to Mr. Seun of the Medical Entrepreneurs Limited, a company with the mission of helping Nigerian medical center with a digital Medical Records he has this to say; "Poor medical record is one of the major causes of poor healthcare services and but with a proper digital records it is easy to

1. Convert documents on Paper to digital records
2 Archive documents
3. Access to medical records from remote locations and even transfer documents from one hospitals to another.
Nigerians deserve to have their medical history, and hospitals need to a upgrade to the EMR to
a. Better Customer satisfaction.
b. Improved brand image
c. Improved productivity and profit.
d. Increase staff efficiency.

My brother you have spoken well
TheLordIsGr8:

You raise valid points. But recolonization is not the solution. Just allow us negotiate our way to nationhood. Europe and America weren't always like they are now. They too fought endless wars. Ever heard of the 30 years war? That's how bad it was. What about the world wars?

The problem today is that they have developed far deadlier weapons (of course wars lead to advances in weapons technology) and are all too willing to sell these weapons to whoever will pay. Its just business. I would argue that the arms and ammunition industry probably competes with oil. But of course its not always in the open. It's bad for PR.

I would propose decolonization and returning to pre-colonial borders. With time we will negotiate our way to nationhood on our own terms. Not because Lugard or some faraway king of queen says so. Africa's development was sabotaged over hundreds of years. It cannot be undone in decades.

Right now we're still being colonized. I shake my head when I hear fellow Igbos saying UN this UN that. They don't give a hoot about you. Our perpetual subjugation is in their best interest. They'll just sell you weapons to kill yourself. Your death won't remove the oil or the diamond or the gold. So its no big deal if a few million people die. Its one way of tackling "overpopulation" and "climate change".
You see them making reference to "International law". What does that even mean? You can't have law without enforcement. You can't have enforcement without police. Right now there's no international police. Ergo, talks of international law is just nonsense. Better to appeal to people of "Good Conscience".

Though not so pertinent to the issue at hand, I believe you'll like to watch the documentary "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond. Its on youtube.
