AlexCk:Lol! For me being class captain from Jss2 to SS2 and eventually senior school prefect was a hit back to back except for Js3 ![]() |
topeontop:My cousin and i were in the same class from SS1 and i was cass captain. I remember times when I'll walk to the front of the class and shout "Stop making noise, I'm writing names of noise makers". I will return to my seat and be inactive without writing names. The big boys in the class will be like, "There's no paper with him he's not writing" Unknown to them my cousin was busy writing and they'll all be shocked when the Senior School Prefect comes to the class and boom! Boys go chop cane that day. |

Northern politician and activist, Najatu Muhammad, has rejected a federal appointment through the same channel by which she was appointed – newspaper! Muhammad, a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and an associate of the president’s wife, was appointed chairperson of the governing council of the Dutse Federal University on Saturday. By the same announcement, vice-chancellors of the 12 universities established by former President Goodluck Jonathan were also asked to go, even though many of them maintained that they were not sacked – their tenures only expired. Muhammad, however, seemed to have taken exception to the fact that her appointment was announced through the media, saying she was not consulted. In a quarter-page newspaper advert published in Daily Trust on Monday and addressed to Adamu Adamu, minister of education, she wrote: “Sir, I Najatu Muhammad wishes (wish) to thank you so much for considering me worthy of being appointed the chairperson of Dutse Federal University. It’s however unfortunate that I was not consulted before the announcement in the media. I also regret that I have to use the same medium to announce that I can’t accept the appointment for personal reasons. “I will however remain an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari in his effort in charting a new course for this country. A course that we pray will put this country back to the path of progress. I will also continue to support the presidents (president’s) fight against corruption and other ills of this country. My unflinching support for the President will remain for Allah’s sake and country. I pray that Allah will continue to guide and protect our President. “Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “Thank you.” Source : http://sunnewsonline.com/new/activist-rejects-presidents-appointment-via-newspaper-ad/ |

Toks2008:The etigi dance is not a native dance to the Calabar (Efik/Efut/Qua) people of CRS. |
biafranqueen:The woman is hypocritical in her giving. Students and youths from her LGA (Bakassi, CRS) can not speak much good about her. Imagine that the president of National Association of Bakassi Students who is a female approached this woman for support towards their teen enlightenment campaign on career choice and sex education and the bleaching woman said she couldn't support because the economy is down and she's low on cash. This is the same woman who took her LGA ward councillors on a trip (Not official) to Dubai all expense paid few months before just to get them to stifle the chairman of council. |
DEATHS DUE TO THE LOCATION OF PETROL STATIONS WITHIN RESDENTIAL AREAS IN CALABAR It has just come to my notice that a certain Petrol Station, EDDY EXCEL Petroleum Ltd, No 8/10 Palm Street located within the residential area of Palm Street (almost by Target) in Calabar South is about to be torched. This particular station was forced on the people by someone in the Governor’s Office, some 3 years ago, despite all the protestations – both official and unofficial. Being a conduit for Black market activities in Calabar, a particular fuel Tanker went to deliver petroleum products to the station owner and being in a hurry to continue to other illegal assignments, ran into a nearby Wedding party and killed some people. In response, a mob killed the driver on the spot and are at the point of burning down the station….after looting and stripping the station. This was a tragedy waiting to happen…and I hope that those in the Government, who are always eager to approve Petrol Stations in our urban areas, will henceforth, be more diligent. On 22/12/2014, six persons were murdered in the same petrol station. And there have been 8 armed robbery incidents in the station so far. Residents and inhabitants of the Target/Chamley/Palm street areas have not lived in peace, since the Station came into illegal being. The Police has, however arrived, while the mob is still baying for blood. Governor Ben Ayade, is requested to look into the various cases and protests of siting Petrol Stations within Residential areas in Calabar, please. Orok Duke #copied

Action And that will do it! Manchester United wrap up a magnificent win that they thoroughly deserved. That takes them to within a point of Arsenal in second, and four points ahead of Manchester City in the third automatic Champions League place. Pellegrini's team, once title challengers, now have to look over their shoulder with Southampton only five points outside the top four. Standing ovation at Old Trafford as the fans applaud off their heroes of the derby. #goal.com #GGMU |
