@OLOFOFO TV Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, has commenced the disbursement of N1.5b earmarked by the state government to offset the inherited backlog of retired local government staffs and primary school teachers entitlements across the 33 local government areas in the state as cheques were presented to no fewer than 700 (seven hundred) beneficiaries drawn across all the local governments in Oyo state as a flag off to what has been declared by the commission’s chairman, as a quarterly exercise. The executive chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Remi Ayodele, who also doubles as the chairman Oyo State Local Government Service Pension Board, while addressing beneficiaries of the state government gesture yesterday in Ibadan at the flag off event which held at the conference room of the commission, stated that it was sheer wickedness for any responsible government to deliberately deny retired workers of their rightful benefits after meritorious career in the civil service. He added that governor Makinde’s interest in the welfare of retirees in the state is unwavering which was why he gave a directive to the effect that gratuities and death benefits should henceforth be paid on a regular basis noting that the government’s commitment towards improving the quality of life of its workforce in the state is a top priority. Ayodele, who was chairman of Ibadan North west local government said it was important to place it on record that it was the first time in the history of pension administration in the state that the governor has rolled out such huge amount of money twice in less than one year to offset huge backlog of retirees entitlements. The chairman, Oyo state chapter of National Union Of Pensioners (NUP), Comrade Segun Abatan, in his remark stated that retired workers have never had it this rosy in the state and prayed that the blood of all the deceased retirees call for vengeance from their tormentor. He specifically praised Makinde for consistently meeting its financial obligations to its workforce as well as retirees adding that the eight years of the last administration under former governor Abiola Ajimobi who had accesses to more funds as a governor than all other governors in the history of Oyo state was the most turbulent for all workers and retirees. Abatan warned anyone from part of the country making any move to truncate the bliss of ease that currently pervades the state to have a rethink. The representative of the chairman, Oyo state chapter of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Chuks Nwankwo, in his remark maintained that governor Makinde is an answer to the special prayers of Oyo state workers citing a bible reference that says “When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice,” he enjoined the governor not to derail from the path he is toeing. Some beneficiaries who spoke with press men thanked the governor for fulfilling his campaign promises to the workers and retirees, they however vowed to continue to support governor Makinde against all forms of distractions aimed at destabilizing the present administration Source: https://www.olofofotv.com/2019/12/governor-seyi-makinde-begins-payment-of.html

There she lies again, growing older. Her mates are growing with bounty development but vast hope still lies in the thought of her children. She is green and white; what a beauty! She has oil to her disposal, agricultural products within her reach or should we talk about coal and steel or the erstwhile minerals in her disposition. What a wealth! She once rose in 70s, her currency going in a duel with dollar; a naira for a dollar. What a currency! She rode all through that era among her Negroid family, her Congoid peers were admiring her stardom, the western was dismayed by her rise. And she had heroes; her brave children. These children had fought her freedom from the westerners and started a revolution but there it was; she had bad kids; one who haunted her despite being their mother. Her bad kids defied others of power, stole our mother's wealth and still oppressed their brothers and sisters with their stolen. Even went further in manipulating their siblings brains with cooked lies so as to get power and steal their mother's wealth and still opress their siblings. Also, she had crazy kids; they believed in her downfall so they attacked her children (their siblings) for their selfish and unbelievable wants. Mother Nigeria is getting weak day by day, some children wants to help but the brainwashed and bad siblings won't allow. Some children are joining the "train of destruction" of their mother because they don't to be on a losing side and feels it's a normal act. Her heroes (children who fought for her) are going in vain, day by day, she is dying slowly by the activities of her children. No one wants to start a revolution because of those in poor. The giant of Africa is gradually becoming timid and her tag being questioned. And there her children has feud over their races and religion and bitterness grown over them. What would happen to mother Nigeria while some of her children only have hope filled in her while others have ran away for shelter from other mothers. Shall the giant of Africa rise again, shall her heroes labour go in vain, would her children unite in peace and make her great? Only time and God can tell. Happy Independence Mother Nigeria; May the lord allow her to rise again. © I AM EMPEROR DOTMAN |

The forward, who will turn 19 in November, grew in influence throughout the 2018/19 season, winning himself a place in the side and ending the campaign with five goals and a string of assists. He became Chelsea’s youngest-ever England international when making his debut for Gareth Southgate’s side in a Euro 2020 qualification win against Czech Republic at Wembley, and picked up our Young Player of the Year award in May. When does Callum Hudson-Odoi’s new contract expire? His new deal commits him to the club he has trained at since the age of eight until at least 2024. He is currently in the latter stages of his rehabilitation from an Achilles injury suffered in April that brought a premature end to his breakthrough season for club and country, in which he made 24 Chelsea appearances as well as playing two games for England. ‘It’s an amazing feeling,’ Hudson-Odoi said after signing his contract. ‘It’s been a long wait but it’s done now and I’m really happy about that. I’ve been a Chelsea player since I was eight and this is the right club for me to be at. ‘I want to lift as many trophies as possible, win as many games as possible and contribute to as many goals as I can as well. As a team, we just want to work hard to achieve the best results we can. I’m delighted everything has been agreed and now I’m just looking forward to properly getting back.’ Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘Callum showed last season just what a thrilling talent he is. We are delighted he has committed to Chelsea and we are all excited about the prospect of seeing him continue to blossom in the years ahead. ‘The club has already been rewarded this season by some brilliant performances from our young Academy graduates, and Callum’s new contract guarantees Frank has another outstanding prospect at his disposal.’ While injury cut short a season full of promise, the youngster clearly caught the eye and his potential was highlighted by Frank Lampard as early as his first media conference as our new head coach. ‘I have seen Callum come through and he’s a fantastic talent,’ said Lampard. ‘He is going to be central for us on the pitch and that is the opportunity in front of him now. ‘There are things as a young player that he will want to improve but he can be central to this team and for England. I want to work with him, I want to drive him forward and I want to improve him as a player. ‘Callum can show, right here at Chelsea, the club he came through the Academy at, that he is going to be a world-class player because I truly believe that.’ When did Callum Hudson-Odoi sign for Chelsea? Hudson-Odoi joined the club at the age of eight, proving a regular creator and scorer of goals throughout his schoolboy years. He won back-to-back FA Youth Cups, scoring both years in the final, and lifted the Under-17 World Cup with England, featuring in every game at the tournament and assisting three goals against Spain in the final to add another medal to his 2017 collection. The Oyo state Governor has threatened to split LAUTECH ownership with Osun state, should Osun state not interfere in the financial aspect of the institution. The governor said; "On LAUTECH: Yesterday, the governing council came to see me and we discussed all these. We've signed for worker payments but since it's owned by both Osun and Oyo states, unfortunately Osun state has not paid. This can not continue." "Few days ago, I spoke to the Osun governor, Gboyega Oyetola, the plan to split was signed between Akala and Oyinlola but we don't know why it wasn't implemented. Oyo State will have to pay the salary of LAUTECH (Osun's share) because I don't want the students to suffer." "If we have to split up, then so be it, I won't shy away from this divorce. LAUTECH is very important to Ogbomoso." Source; https://www.olofofotv.com/2019/09/governor-seyi-makinde-threatens-to.html?m=1

Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) has concluded a two-day workshop to strengthen capacity of religious institutions in responding to domestic violence. The event held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja on Wednesday was organised in partnership with the European Union (EU)-funded Rule of Law and Anti Collaboration Programme and Nigeria Policing Programme, was aimed at sensitising religious organisations and ensuring adequate response to complaints of sexual and gender- based violence in the State. According to the DSVRT coordinator, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, the seminar was put together against the backdrop of recent statistics, which revealed that 70 per cent of reported incidents of matrimonial abuses at DSVRT had already been reported at victims’ religious organisations. She said religious institutions were strategically positioned to prevent and properly respond to domestic violence, given that their teachings convey values and tolerant belief systems to their members. She said: “Members of religious institutions often have direct support or counselling relationships with their religious leaders. Religious leaders, therefore, are at a vantage position in serving as first responders to incidents of domestic violence in their respective places of worship.” Over 100 heads of Counselling Department personnel drawn from both Christian and Islamic faiths were selected for the workshop, where facilitators engaged them in various topical issues and lecture. Some of the sub-topics were titled: An Overview of Gender Based Violence: Need for Professional Pastoral Counselling Skills; Christian and Islamic Perspective on Gender Violence; as well as A Critical Consideration of the Protection Against Domestic Violence Law 2015 and Their Role in Properly Responding to Domestic Violence. Participants were encouraged to promote teachings that would provide helpful resources on domestic abuse through regular sermons, prayers, education and clerical care. The organisers urged that messages from religious institutions to their followers should include injunctions that indicate God’s love for all humans and the importance of mutual respect and submission between couples. The need for a proper referral pathway between religious institutions and the government was also constantly emphasised at the workshop, given that domestic violence remains a punishable crime in Lagos. Head of Counselling Unit, Believers Faith Incorporated, Rev. Fredrick Makonjuola, who participated in the workshop, praised Lagos government for the initiative, urging the State to sustain the programme for continuous and inclusive engagement of all religious institutions in the campaign to end domestic violence. Igbo-Ora is a town in Oyo State, Nigeria , situated 80 kilometres north of Lagos. In 2001, the population of the town was approximately 60,000 people. In 2017 the population is estimated to be around 92,000 people. The unusual large of twins of birth in this region has earned the town, "Twin Capital of the World".
