Am quite aware of that and that's one of the things we are here to address. Stop jumping the gun and be careful of the kind of link you drop here in order not for you to derail the thread. Thanks

Have you heard this? Many Nigerian exporters have been defrauded of huge amount of money in the process of exporting commodities to foreign countries. Do you know why? They were not trained on export operations, management, documentations and the best methods of payment in export trade. This is terrible!!! Nigerians cannot continue to lose money to foreigners in the course of export business. Exporters, why don’t you get a practical manual that teaches the stages of export trade from processing and packaging of commodities to receipt of payment by the foreign buyers. It teaches export operations, export management, export documentations and methods of payment in export trade? It is a contemporary step-by-step guide to export trade. It tells all the contemporary dynamics in export trade. To get it, click on the link below:

Raw Cashew Nut Export:

We are opening this thread with discussion on raw Cashew Nut export and as we all know that we are just entering into 2018 cashew season, it would be wise for us to look at this subject together so that those of us that are interested in this business can take advantage of it.

The flag off will take place in Oyo state very likely this week and this would be the determining factor for the local price (per tonne or per kg) of Cashew Nut the season.

Cashew business is a very lucrative business and one can make money from it as a farmer, agent, supplier and/or as exporter. For exporters, these set of people are the one that would be making a lot of money in the business considering the current exchange rate.

Just this week, The National Cashew Association of Nigeria, NCAN, said Nigeria earned N144.7 billion ($402 million) from the export of raw cashew nuts to Vietnam and other countries in 2017.

Mr. Sotonye Anga, the spokesperson for the association, said that 220,000 tonnes of raw cashew nuts were exported to Vietnam, India and China between February and December 2017.

Cashew production in Nigeria for 2015 was 160,000 tonnes, which fetched the country 152 million U.S. dollars (about N57.6 billion) revenue. In 2016, we exported 185,000 tonnes of cashew nuts and earned 259 million dollars (aboutN93.2 billion),” Anga said.
Cashew export has its intricacies and for you to be able to partake of the immense opportunities in this business there are vital things you need to know.

When going into export of any item, be it agro commodities, solid minerals, semi-finished or finished products, there are a few things one need to bear in mind and this would be stated on the sales contract signed between the exporter (seller) &the importer (buyer) and would form the basis of transaction between both parties.(….. detailed discussion on Export Sales Contract will be done later)

Some of which are:
Product description, Quality Specifications, Quantity, Packaging, Pricing, Origin, Port of loading & Port of Discharge, Shipping documents, Payment term and Payment method to mention a few.
For the purpose of cashew nut export this season, we would be discussing one of this items which is ‘Quality Specifications’
